Chapter 4 ( WITNESS )

“What Do you mean? You just met us in your dreams and we happened to know you too? At ganoon din yung guy na iyon which is hindi naman tayo nakikilala?” Yaela asked confused. I nodded at her and explained everything to her. How can someone know me just by meeting them through my dreams.

“Baka may sumasanib saiyo Rohesia?”  I bit my lower lip and scrunched my nose. “No, that’s not true. Well, I don’t really want to believe you but my auntie told me the same thing too.” paliwanag ni Yuna.

“Huh?”

“She told me the same thing of what Rohesia told us. And the worst is when someone died in her dreams, ay namamatay din sila sa reality.” I suddenly felt the chills all over my body. It was the same thing that had happened to me.

“I experienced that scenario too. Before you guys came to me, someone in my dreams approach me and did something horrible to me. But group of people came and killed them, I saw it with my own two eyes. Then after I woke up, they really died in the same place where I saw them in my dreams. If I had already woke up, I can still save them.” I explained. Yaela’s eyes widened as well as Yuna.

“Ï actually don’t know if that was a dream or the reality back then but I’m not even injured or what. Ang kaibahan lang ngayon, alam ko kung sa panaginip ko iyon nangyari or sa reyalidad.” Paliwanag ko pa. Both of them shook their head while processing everything that I had said. I won’t blame them if they won’t going to believe me but one thing is for sure, I can use this ability of mine to predict something and I can even save them.”

“Diba you told us that you’re a Law Student?” I nodded at them. “And according to what I’ve heard from other students exchange student lang pala from Thailand yung lalaking iyon. He finished criminology there and now studying Forensic Science that is involved in crime investigation. You two can team up! You can both help to solve crimes.” Saad ni Yuna.

“He even calls me crazy the last time, baka akalain nyang stalker nya ako.”

“Well, then prove him na totoo yung sinasabi mo. You can approach him and tell your insights. Besides, sa lahat ikaw ang nakakita at nakasaksi ng crimes so you know everything. “I nodded hesitantly. In this case I can really help someone, or even prevent them from danger. But how can I do that?

“Can I speak with Mr. Asnee Saelim?” tanong ko sa babaeng kagagaling lang sa office. “He’s with the police and investigator po ma’am.”

“Ano pong ginagawa nya kasama nila?” kuryosong tanong ko. “He’s helping them with the crime investigation po ma’am.” My mouth formed an o after hearing it. He’s still studying pero nakakatulong na sya. Is he a real genius or what? Sabagay, he just finished criminology and became a hot shot young investigator here. For sure he’s a real genius.

“It is murder, and I will prove it to you Mr. Cadmus.” I stood up as I hear his voice. Lumabas sya ng office na iyon na kunot ang noo, and his forehead creased more when he saw me standing outside.

“Asnee- “

“I have no time for you Miss, don’t even bother me again.”  He passed by me like I am a wind and left me there alone.

“I told you I have no time for you, and I don’t know you- “

“I’m not here for that.” Diretsong sambit ko. “So why are you following me?”

“I am a law student from the same University where you’re studying and I know you’re studying Forensic Science and helping the detectives and investigator in solving crimes.”

“How did you- “

“Don’t wonder, you’re already famous here and everyone knows you since you became an exchange student here.”  Paliwanag ko pa. “I am here to ask you if you could team up with me in order to solve crimes happening in our country- “

“And who are you to ask me that? Miss, as far as I know you are just a law student and you are not authorized to meddle with the business of detectives and crime investigators. Of all people, you as a law student should know that.”

“I know that but what I mean is that I can help you guys. I can see in my dreams if ever there was a crime at malalaman natin kung murder ba iyon or suicide. We can also catch the culprit because I can see them clearly in my dreams- “

“This is not a joke and a game miss, who would believe from your absurd reasonings?”

“I am not joking Mr. Saelim, I am telling the truth and you can trust me with this one- “

“Noong nakaraan ang sabi mo nakilala mo  ako sa panaginip mo, and now you’re insisting that you can see a crime through your dreams. You’re a crazy one Miss Beischel.”

“No, I’m telling you the- “I stopped midway when I realized that he calls me by my surname. “You know me?” I asked jubilantly. Confusion was evident on his face as he faced me and his forehead creased. “Your tag on your uniform Miss.” Agad kong nilingon ang uniform ko at napagtanto nga na may surname tag ako doon. My smile faded as he leaves and turned his back from me. I sighed and massage the bridge of my nose before leaving as well. Dumiretso na ako sa susunod kong klase hanggang sa makauwi ako. I saw mamma talking to someone on her phone. She looks terrified but her expression became tough when she saw me enter the house. She suddenly hanged it up and pull me upstairs.

“Qualcuno ti ha contattato?” (Does someone contact you?)

“Nessuno mamma, perché?” (No one mamma, why?)

“Non accettare chiamate da numeri casuali e non provare nemmeno a contattare uno dei tuoi cugini, soprattutto Tommasi. Siamo chiari?” (Do not accept calls from random numbers and do not even try to contact one for your cousins, especially Tommasi. Are we clear?)

“Sì mamma.” Tango ko dito at pumasok na sa kwarto ko. I opened my social media account that has been deactivated for years and saw Tommasi’s message on top.

‘Come stai cugino Tu e la zia stanno bene? Dove vivi adesso? La mamma è preoccupata per te.’ (How are you cousin Are you and aunt okay? Where you live now? Mom is worried about you.)

‘So che zia Sienna vi ha detto di non contattarmi, ma siamo solo preoccupati per voi due. Il più grande rivale del nonno ora sta inviando minacce che ti uccideranno se ti trovano.’ (I know aunt Sienna told you not to contact me, but we are just worried about the two of you. Grandfather’s greatest rival are now sending threats that they will kill you if they find the two of you.)

I smiled upon seeing my cousin’s message but I can’t reply to him. Hindi nila kami maaaring makausap and mamma doesn’t want to be involved with them too. We have no rights to be part of their family since the day I was born. And I know that this is the mere reason too that’s why she hated me so much.

“Baranggay 6 zone 5.” I utter as I saw the signage. I walked inside the dark cloistered path, following the noise I’ve heard. Then I saw a man wearing a black coat entering a small house.

“You’re next.”
