Sara Hayes' POV

It was 1:30 AM when the thirst finally became unbearable enough to drag me out of bed.

I padded quietly down the hallway toward the kitchen, my bare feet cold against the marble floor, my mind still half-tangled in the exhausting weight of everything that had happened over the last twenty-four hours. Between the arrest, the confrontation with Margaret, and Damian's brutal clarity in his study earlier that evening, sleep had come in fragments, shallow and restless.

  • Pregnant Virgin (Darling please don't leave)   Chapter 53 Do not mother me

Damian Kade's POVI had barely reached the bottom of the stairs when my mother was on me."Damian!""Damian!" she gasped, her voice trembling, She reached out, her manicured fingers gripping my forearms checked and caught my face between her hands, turning it left, then right, searching my skin for any trace of my allergies."My god, how are you? I heard what happened yesterday. How did this happen? Why are you so careless with your health? Do you have any idea how dangerous those allergies are?" you understand that? Thomas called me again four in the morning, and all he could tell me was that you'd had a reaction and he was dealing with it. How did it happen? Where were you? Who was there? Why were you so careless? You know better than anyone what happens if a woman gets within an arm's length of you. What if it had been worse? What if your throat had closed in that car and you were alone? What if Thomas hadn't been awake? What if the medication hadn't worked? Damian? My only son, my

  • Pregnant Virgin (Darling please don't leave)   Chapter 52 I'll meet you downstairs

Damian Kade's POVMy eyelids felt like lead, but the first thing I registered was the heat on my body. I felt a heavy weight pressing against my chest, and the scent of strawberries and slightly tart mingled with a deeper, muskier aroma. As I forced my eyes open, the dim morning light filtered through the velvet curtains of my bedroom, casting the room in a soft, amber glow. I blinked, the haze clearing to reveal a sight that made my heart hammer against my ribs.SaraHer lips were slightly parted, a soft, coral pink that looked impossibly plush. She looked vulnerable, her breathing shallow and steady, her long lashes casting delicate shadows against her cheeks. I found myself staring, mesmerized by the curve of her jaw and the way her hair, a chaotic silk spill covered a portion of my pillow.I was tempted. God, I was tempted to lean down and crush my lips against hers, to wake her with a kiss. The physical reality of our position was agonizing. One of her legs was hooked firmly aro

Sara Hayes' POVIt was 1:30 AM when the thirst finally became unbearable enough to drag me out of bed.I padded quietly down the hallway toward the kitchen, my bare feet cold against the marble floor, my mind still half-tangled in the exhausting weight of everything that had happened over the last twenty-four hours. Between the arrest, the confrontation with Margaret, and Damian's brutal clarity in his study earlier that evening, sleep had come in fragments, shallow and restless.I was halfway across the landing when I heard a loud noise.Bang!!!The front door, somewhere below, slammed hard enough that I nearly dropped the glass in my hand.My heart lurched into my throat."Thomas," I called out softly, assuming it was him, "you shouldn't scare me like that."No response.I moved toward the staircase, my nerves prickling with unease, and as I reached the top of it, I saw Damian. He was bent over near the entrance to the sitting room, one hand braced against the wall, the other presse

  • Pregnant Virgin (Darling please don't leave)   Chapter 50 I do not love you Sara

Sara Hayes' POVThe door of Damian’s study seemed to loom like the entrance to a courtroom today, I felt like the defendant. I had spent an hour in front of the mirror, meticulously crafting my expression, a delicate balance of contrition, vulnerability, and just a hint of the desperation that I felt will touch his heart to forgive me.I stood outside his study door for a solid three minutes before I finally worked up the nerve to knock, my hand hovering in the air.I hated that I was nervous. I hated that I was standing outside his door, sweating over the prospect of apologizing to my fake husband.I knocked twice."Come in."I pushed the door open slowly.Damian didn't look up. He was seated behind a massive mahogany desk, a fountain pen scratching against a piece of vellum with a rhythmic precision. The lamplight cast deep shadows across his face, showing his handsome features.I walked toward him and let out a small, shaky sigh."I wanted to talk to you," I said."I'm listening,"

  • Pregnant Virgin (Darling please don't leave)   Chapter 49 why does she get to have him

Sarai Vance's POV The silence in my room felt heavy and suffocating. It reminds me every second that I should have been Mrs Kade. I sat on the edge of my velvet armchair, my fingers digging into the fabric, staring at the closed door of my room as if I could burn a hole through it with my gaze. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw Sara with her pathetic, wide-eyed look of innocence, carrying the one thing I wanted more than anything in this world. Damian’s child. The thought of it made my stomach churn with a visceral, acidic hatred. It wasn't just about the baby, it was about the fact that Damian married her not caring about my feelings. And how protective he was of her. And a reminder that she had managed to penetrate the armor he wore for eight years and I wasn't able to do that, now I'm left orbiting the edges, a ghost in a designer dress. My phone rang just as I was finally beginning to feel something close to calm settle over me. I answered immediately, recognizing the nu

  • Pregnant Virgin (Darling please don't leave)   Chapter 48 I want his hands broken

Damian Kade's POVI found Thomas in the kitchen, already pulling ingredients from the refrigerator."The food for Sara," I said. "Nothing heavy. Something plain enough that it won't upset her stomach further.""Understood, sir," he said. "I was already preparing something light."I paused at the doorway."One more thing," I said. "Sarai and her mother are not to be permitted into this house again without my direct permission. If they arrive unannounced, you call security and have them escorted off the property immediately."Thomas nodded. "Yes, sir."I appreciated that about him, even now, even with everything still unresolved between us regarding tonight.I walked out of the house and got into my car, sitting there for a moment in silence, my hands resting against the steering wheel while I tried to organize the chaos currently occupying every corner of my mind.Someone had sent those photographs with one clear purpose: to cause a fight between Sara and myself. And the list of people
