My hallway smelled of old carpet and cleaning solution, a stark contrast to the eucalyptus and money scent of Noah’s penthouse.

Noah was on his knees on my welcome mat.

He looked like he had been through a war. His hair was disheveled, his tie was gone, and his shirt was wrinkled. But it was his eyes that undid me. They were red-rimmed, desperate, and completely stripped of the CEO armor he wore like a second skin.

"Noah?" I gasped, my hand flying to my mouth.

"I was wrong," he said, looking up at me. "I was scared. I was stupid. But I love you. And I will spend the rest of my life making up for the fact that I doubted you for even a second."

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a crumpled photo. It was the ultrasound picture—the one Sienna had stolen, the one that had started this nightmare.

He held it up like an offering. Like a shield.

"This is our truth," he said, his voice breaking. "Not the lies. Not the past. This."

I stared at the photo. The grainy black-and-white image o

The phone rang at 7:00 AM. I knew who it was before I even looked. Only one person called that early with the specific intent to ruin my day."How could you?" my mother’s voice hissed through the speaker the moment I swiped answer. There was no hello. No "how is my pregnant daughter?" Just venom.I sat up in bed, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. Noah shifted beside me, his arm tightening around my waist, sensing the tension instantly."Good morning to you too, Mom," I said, my voice thick with sleep."Don't get smart with me, Aria. I just saw the news. The FBI raided Sienna’s apartment. They dragged her out in handcuffs like a common criminal.""I know," I said. "I saw.""And you let it happen," she accused. "You and that... that man you married. How could you do this to your sister?"I blinked, fully awake now. The audacity was breathtaking."I didn't do anything, Mom. Sienna committed federal crimes. She stole from NeXus. She sold secrets to a competitor.""She made a mistake!" Elena

The conference room at the FBI’s New York field office didn't have the sleek, glass-walled aesthetic of NeXus. It was beige, windowless, and smelled of stale coffee and federal bureaucracy. But the people sitting across the metal table weren't bureaucrats. They were sharks in cheap suits."Let's review the timeline," Special Agent Miller said, tapping a thick file folder. "Corporate espionage is a federal crime, Mr. West. But to make a RICO case stick, we need to prove a pattern of racketeering activity. Based on what you've brought us... we have that."I sat next to Marcus. He was staring at the table, his face a mask of grim determination. Benjamin Ross, our lawyer, sat to my right."The pattern is clear," I said, my voice steady. "Data leaks coinciding with bid submissions. Financial transfers to offshore accounts. And unauthorized access to secure servers.""We've identified the paymaster," Miller confirmed. He slid a sheet of paper across the table. "The money didn't just come fr

The glass walls of Noah’s office usually made me feel exposed, like a specimen in a high-tech jar. Today, they felt like a fortress.I sat on the leather sofa, my hands resting protectively on my bump, watching the two men at the desk. Noah was pacing, a caged tiger in a charcoal suit. Marcus was sitting, his head in his hands, looking like a man who had watched his entire life burn down and was now sifting through the ashes. It had been twenty-four hours since the wedding cancellation. Twenty-four hours since the press release. Twenty-four hours since my sister became the most hated woman in New York social circles."Aria," Marcus said, lifting his head. His voice was rough, like he’d been swallowing glass. "Can we... can I talk to you? For a minute?"Noah stopped pacing. He looked at me, a silent question in his eyes. Do you want me to stay?"It's okay," I said, nodding to Noah. "Give us a second."Noah hesitated, then squeezed my shoulder as he walked past. "I'll be with Lewis in t

The morning after Marcus cancelled the wedding, the sidewalk outside my building looked less like a residential entrance and more like a war zone.News vans blocked the street. Paparazzi swarmed the lobby doors like ants on sugar. The headline on the Post was brutal: THE OTHER SISTER: BILLIONAIRE FIANCÉ DUMPS SOCIALITE FOR PREGNANT TWIN?It was messy. It was loud. It was exactly what I had spent my entire career avoiding. But as I stood by the penthouse window, looking down at the chaos, I didn't feel the familiar urge to run or hide. I felt a cold, steely resolve."They're loud," Aria said, walking up beside me.She was wearing one of my oversized sweaters, her hand resting on the seven-month curve of her stomach. She looked tired—the dark circles under her eyes spoke of a sleepless night—but she didn't look afraid."They're vultures," I corrected, wrapping my arm around her shoulders and pulling her away from the window. "And we're going to starve them.""How?""By controlling the n

The hospital room felt safe. It had nurses, monitors, and a call button that summoned experts in seconds. The world outside felt like a chaotic, uncontrolled danger zone."Are we sure we're allowed to take her?" I asked, staring at the tiny bundle sleeping in the plastic bassinet. "I feel like we need a permit. Or a license. Or a security detail."Aria laughed from the wheelchair where she was waiting. She looked exhausted, beautiful, and ready to leave. "We signed the papers, Noah. She's ours. We're being discharged, not escaping.""Feels like escaping," I muttered, zipping up the diaper bag for the third time to check if I had the spare pacifier. I did. I had four.I walked over to the bassinet. It was time for the outfit change.I had bought a thousand intricate, stylish outfits. But for today, for the journey home, I had chosen the most cliché thing possible.A pink onesie that said Daddy's Girl in glittery script."Don't judge me," I told Aria as I carefully lifted Emma."I'm not

The world had narrowed down to a seven-pound, four-ounce bundle of warmth resting on my chest. The chaos of the delivery room—the nurses cleaning up, the monitors beeping, the adrenaline crash—faded into a distant hum. All I could see, all I could feel, was her.Emma Rose. She was slippery and warm, wrapped in a standard-issue hospital blanket that seemed far too rough for her new skin. I ran a finger down the curve of her cheek. It was softer than silk, softer than a rose petal. It was a texture that defied physics."She's real," I whispered, my voice raspy from screaming."She is," Noah said. He was sitting on the edge of the bed, his arm wrapped around both of us, his face buried in the crook of my neck. I could feel the dampness of his tears against my skin. "She's right here."I looked at her hands. They were tiny, impossible things. I counted the fingers, touching each nail that was no bigger than a grain of rice. One, two, three, four, five. I checked the other hand. Five."Did
