Brian was relieved. With his good looks and talent, he couldn’t lose everything just because he decided not to do the chasing. The other women brought themselves but Kisha was an exception, for which reason he had to break his rules. “I get it. Two weeks it is.” “Since you have agreed, then chair your meeting,” Tony said and stood up. “I’m out. Remember, just two weeks,” he added coldly. It was not his intention to chair the meeting anyway but his plan seemed to be working. Isaac was doing his part so Tony had to do the same. Brian was filled with gratitude, his heart rate steady. He had almost forgotten that he was needed at the podium to speak on behalf of the Wrights Group as he did not want to shift his gaze to the blue sea pair of eyes glaring at him. Kisha was stunning. Her hair was curled and woven loosely, held up with a glistening hair clip with strands falling to the sides of her face. Her off-shoulder couture evening gown was glistening with pearls around the neck. The diamond necklace was spectacular and she wore four inch high heels for the first time. “You are right on time,” Brian smiled and spoke. As the days went by, Brian would call Kisha to check on her and if she refused to answer his call and did not return them after an hour or two, he would drive to the corporation. He was so pushy that he became a member of the corporation and no longer a visitor. Brian would always be in her office unannounced. The more she tried to push him away, the closer he got until Kisha began to accept the fact that Brian would always be a part of her life. She contributed little to nothing to the wedding but Brian had gotten to know her favorite things from her Aunty Rita in Zcity, and communicated them to his mother Abigail, who was the wedding planner, ensuring that everything went well. Betty, Brian’s twin sister, flew from Europe with her husband and daughter to attend the wedding, which was one of the most lavish in Mcity. Kisha stilled for a second before processing the information. She felt like she was in a daze when she left the meeting without a word to her managers and drove to the hospital. Even when her secretary thought of driving her there, she had already left. Reaching the hospital, she was ushered to the doctor’s office as soon as she mentioned her name. “Why has it taken you so long to come?” The doctor asked. Kisha was slightly guilty, looking down, and said defensively, “I came as soon as I heard the news.” The doctor did not accept the excuse. The first person he expected to see after the accident was Kisha but she was rather the last to arrive. “The hospital called you with Brian’s number hours before then. Your number was on the speed dial when we needed to contact a relative. His parents and yours left an hour ago and said they would be back in the evening,” the doctor explained accusingly.
