CHAPTER 3 - Mystery

Blitz's POV

I pulled my mate in a hug, a satisfied smile on my face. We were like a completed puzzle, her slender body fitting into mine as her chest rose up and down in a peaceful rest.

I buried my face in the crook of her neck, loving her scent as I started to slowly drift off to sleep too.

She smells like flowers, that's why it was the only name I could think of when my gaze met hers.

We were both exhausted from mating and a long sleep while holding her to myself was only but befitting at the moment. I had a lot of questions on my mind but all that could wait until the next morning.

Flower suddenly sprung out of bed, her hand over her mouth as she tried not to barf.

I was up with concern but before I could say a word, she was already hurrying out of bed and towards the door, using the bed cloth to cover her nakedness.

"Flower, wait!" I called after her, hurrying out of bed as well.

My hard chest suddenly came in contact with someone else the moment I opened the door. Her eyes widened in surprise as she stared at my bare chest lustfully.

I quickly reached for my shirt and threw it over my body, "I'm sorry, please excuse me" I rasped, carefully pulling her out of my way as I hurried out of the room.

Flower was nowhere in sight and I didn't know where to start looking for her. I rushed back to the room, intending to dress up properly and return to the party, see if I would find her there.

It was never my intention to join the feast organized by the Midnight Pack in the first place but we were invited, I just had to represent my father and the Shadow Pack at large.

That was how I found myself here and bet the moon goddess had a big surprise in stock for me, I met my mate whom I had been anticipating ever since I got my wolf.

It's been five years now and just when I thought I had finally met her, she disappeared right under my nose.

I was starting to get frustrated as I searched effortlessly for her amongst the guests at the function. Not to mention how I had barged into every restroom I could find in the mansion looking for her.

It was as if she disappeared into thin air, no matter how much I searched, it was like she was never here.

I didn't notice I was before the Alpha of the Midnight Pack until he grabbed my hand, his teeth on display.

"Great timing Son, my daughter here was just describing someone she met earlier. I suspected it would be you and here you are now.

Sun, this is Blitz Clawric, the heir to the Shadow Pack and the only son of Alpha Draco Clawric. Blitz, my precious daughter, Sun" Alpha Sage introduced.

I slowly took her hands to my lips as a deep blush spread across her cheeks. I recognize her as the lady I bumped into on my way out of the room.

"A pleasure to meet you Sun, great feast you have here" I muttered, releasing my hold on her.

"Such a gentleman, he's perfect, Father" Sun giggled, her eyes fixed on my face.

"Perhaps, you should ask her to dance Blitz. Sun is a very good dancer and I bet the both of you would have a lot in common just like I and your father" Alpha Sage chortled, giving me a pat on the shoulder before walking out and giving the both of us space.

I turned to face Sun squarely, perhaps she would know something about my mate.

"So.." I drawled, "You want to dance?"

Her eyes gleamed with joy as she took my outstretched hand, "Absolutely, you would be blown away by my skills, trust me" she returned, pride laced in her tune.

I led her to the dancing floor, my eyes straining from time to time as I stylishly looked out for any sign of Flower.

Sun did her best to impress me with her dance steps but she could tell I wasn't interested as my mind wasn't in the dance at all.

"Looking for something?" She asked as I spun her around.

"Yeah, someone actually. I bet as the princess, you would be familiar with most maidens in the pack"

"I guess that would be true" she mumbled a reply.

I pulled her to a stop, images of our intimacy flooded my mind as I reminisced on Flower's looks.

"She has the most beautiful pair of eyes I have ever seen, sea-green, it's just like staring at the ocean from the seaport, her touch soft and caressing. Her hair is brown, long and wavy, though her outfit was totally out of it, she is still gorgeous"

I chortled slightly, "I'm sorry, the details weren't that necessary right?"

"It wasn't, I have never seen or heard of this lady you speak of. Are you certain you met her at this party? You know attendance here is strictly on invitation, I would have known her identity if only she was invited but she wasn't"

My brows creased in confusion, "But she was with me a few minutes ago, I can guarantee you. Her scent still lingers in the room where we had mated"

Sun's eyes widened in astonishment, "Mated? That's not possible, there's nobody in this pack that fits your description, Sire" she insisted, gently holding my hands.

"You must be exhausted from the long journey and might be imagining things. Come, you will feel better after some rest"

I slowly took my hand away from hers, "I know whom I had seen and her position in my life. Please excuse me, I will look for someone else who can tell me about the lady I seek" I deadpanned, walking away from her.

The terrible mistake I made was not asking for her name the moment we met, guess the mate pull held me spellbound just as it did to her too.

After searching and asking around to no avail, I decided to go back home intending to return some other time.
