“You bred with her,” I snarled the moment Obsidian stepped into the kitchen. “You marked her with bruises!”

Obsidian walked over to the fridge and opened it. Reaching inside, he grabbed the milk and slammed the door closed. Our eyes locked when he uncapped the bottle and raised it to his lips.

I reached out to grab hold of the countertop so I wouldn’t storm over to him and rip the bottle from his hold.

“She deserved it,” he rasped after lowering the bottle. “I told her to stop touching me.”

“So you fucking forced her?”

Obsidian snarled and slammed the bottle down. “I never fucking forced her.”

“Really?” I straightened and hissed at him. “So you didn’t choke her and force-breed her as she fought for air. You didn’t hold her down with your teeth while—”

A ferocious snarl fell from his lips before he attacked.

I stumbled from the force of his palm slamming into the middle of my chest. Before I could regain my balance, Obsidian threw another punch, which sent me crashing into the cabinets. Glasses and plates crashed to the floor along with me when I lost my balance.

He was on top of me, straddling my lower back with a hand gripping in my hair before I could suck in a breath.

Glass dug into my stomach from the added weight on top of me.

“I’m not them,” he snarled, but I could hear a hint of hurt in his voice.

“You—”

His hold tightened. Warm breath fanned my cheek and ear as he leaned closer. He growled. “You, out of all, should know that I would never wish for anyone to endure what I had in the facility.”

Guilt flooded me. “I’m sorry,” I whispered. “When you—”

“Some kid tackled her and she hit her head and was knocked out. I was hunting when I found them.”

“H-how did y-you end up…”

“Fucking her?” he questioned, as crudely as always.

I swallowed and waited, but Obsidian never got the chance to answer.

“Oh my God,” I heard Vanya gasp.

Obsidian’s hold on my hair kept me from turning my head to look at her.

“Devrim thinks I raped you,” he told her. “Why don’t you tell him how much you enjoyed it, sweets?”

I heard her swallow in the silence that followed his words.

A dark chuckle fell from Obsidian’s lips.

He moved and pulled me along with the hold he still had of my hair. A few minutes later, I found myself kneeling on the floor with Obsidian behind me. He used the hold he had of my hair to force me to look at Vanya.

She was standing in the doorway, still dressed in his shirt, with Ezra right behind her. He thankfully had a restraining arm wrapped around her waist.

“Tell him.”

Her eyes snapped over to his and then to mine.

“Tell him how wet you were. Tell him how much you enjoyed having my cock inside your pussy.” He purred, as he pressed his lips against my ear. “She was so fucking wet and warm.”

My breathing sped up when he reached around me and wrapped a hand around my throat. I sucked in a sharp breath when his lips wrapped around my earlobe and sucked it into his mouth.

A whimper echoed around the kitchen.

“Look at them,” Obsidian ordered.

Somehow my eyes had fluttered closed without me realizing it. I opened them and blinked at Ezra and Vanya.

“You should’ve felt how hard her pussy clenched around me as I squeezed her throat while I fucked her.”

His hold tightened in demonstration to his words, and by God, I almost came in my fucking pants. It was safe to say that this confrontation didn’t go as I had planned.

“Did I force you, Vanya?”

I looked at her, waiting for her to answer his question. She licked her lips and then shook her head.

“Say it,” Obsidian snarled.

“N-no,” she whispered. “H-he didn’t force me.”

Obsidian’s lips brushed my skin as he spoke low enough only for me and Ezra to hear. “Hear that, Dev?” He squeezed my throat. “If you ever fucking accuse me of raping anyone, I’ll fucking kill you. Is that clear?”

I nodded, unable to utter a word. He purred and pressed his chest against my back for a few seconds more before he let me go and got up.

Without sparing us a glance, Obsidian disappeared down the hall. A second later, the sound of the basement door slamming shut echoed in the silence.

Everyone stood frozen for a few more seconds before we were all moving.

I got to my feet just as Vanya broke out of Ezra’s loose hold and hurried over to me.

“You’re bleeding,” she whispered. “There’s glass stuck in your skin.”

I caught her hand before she could touch me. “It’ll heal.”

Her eyes narrowed. “I get that you’re not human, but I’m going to clean those cuts whether you like it or not.”

My eyes darted over her face. Determination was the only emotion I could see in her eyes.

The last thing I wanted was for her to touch me.

I swallowed when she pulled her hand from mine and grabbed my arm. Vanya led me towards the stairs. As a last resort, I looked over my shoulder at Ezra, but he was busy picking up pieces of broken glass from the floor.

I stayed silent as Vanya led me into her bedroom and then into the bathroom. She lowered the toilet lid and then pushed me down on it.

My eyes trailed over her as she searched through the cabinets. She was only wearing his shirt. I pursed my lips as I watched her. I wasn’t sure if I felt jealous of what Obsidian had experienced or angry because he had… fucked her before me.

“Why are you always fighting?” she questioned when she turned back to face me.

“It’s our nature.”

She glared at me. “No, it’s not. Why don’t you have any first-aid-kits?”

I frowned at her. “What?”

She huffed and turned away from me. Walking over to the sink, she opened the tap and grabbed the towel hanging over the railing.

I watched as she dipped one end of the towel under the water before placing it aside and closing the tap. When she turned to face me, her brows were dipped into a frown.

“Don’t move.”

She walked out of the bathroom and disappeared around the corner.

I swallowed as I stood and walked over to stare at myself in the mirror. Tilting my head to the side, I took in the damage to my cheek. It wasn’t so bad, only a few cuts here and there.

Reaching for the towel, I used the wet end to wipe away the blood. Within seconds, the cuts had already healed. Dropping the towel aside, I pulled my shirt off and bent my head to take in the damage to my stomach. These wounds won’t heal so fast. I traced the sharp edges of one of the glass pieces sticking out of my skin and sighed.

Maybe I should’ve thought things through before confronting him, but I wasn’t expecting him to react the way he had.

So I was wrong.

I had accused him of something I knew he would never do, and now I needed to fix things.

My brows dipped into a frown. What had made him breed her?

He is defenceless. I could easily hurt him. To be honest, I had considered it, but then Devrim’s words flashed through my mind and pulled me out of my disturbing thoughts.Devrim had been right. But it didn’t make me fear Obsidian less.I sat in the chair a few feet from the bed, staring at the door as I waited for Devrim to return. Every passing second that he was away made my mind race with things that could go wrong.Darkness was creeping in on me, and I had no idea how to handle it.A whimper from the bed made my eyes snap over to it.Obsidian was on his stomach, clutching the pillow beneath his head as his big body trembled. The whimpers changed into growls that made my skin break out in goosebumps. The room suddenly fell silent again, but it didn’t last long.Rolling onto his back, Obsidian clutched at the sheets as his whimpers started up again. It got louder and louder.Tears filled my eyes.It sounded like he was in pain. What am I supposed to do? My eyes darted over to the

I think I’m going to pass out. After everything that had happened, I never thought that I would be returning to the cabin. My steps faltered when we reached the front door. Oblivious to my hesitation, Devrim opened the door and entered. As he turned to close it, his eyes locked on me. “Vanya?”When he told me that Obsidian was sick, the concern I felt had me agreeing to go with him, but standing outside the house made me second guess myself.I was about to face the man who had attacked me, the man who haunted my dreams, and not in a good way.Swallowing, I took a step forward, but my muscles tensed, preventing me from moving.“What’s wrong?” Devrim asked as he walked over to me. “You’ve gone pale.”“I…” My words trailed off when movement behind him caught my attention. My knees weakened when a wave of fear hit me. I wasn’t ready to see him yet!Panic hit next.If Devrim hadn’t grabbed hold of my arms, I would have run away.“Rosebud—”“I don’t want to see him,” I blurted.“Please, Va

What are monsters? The imaginary creatures we were sure hid under our beds? Were they the creatures that the authors and filmmakers created? Maybe the stories told to scare us were monsters in their own way? Or maybe the adults who told us those stories were the real monsters?A monster was cruel and evil.A monster was someone who found joy in hurting others. Like those men who hid in the shadows, waiting for a woman or man to come along. A monster was someone who killed without a second thought.I sniffed and reached up to wipe the tears from my cheeks. No matter how much I tried, I couldn’t pull my eyes away from the group of kids in the alley below me. I had spotted them the moment they entered. One of them had pulled out a knife and was busy dissecting a dead animal. Are they monsters? The moment the kid had pulled out the knife, I had thought of Obsidian, and then my mind had trailed to Devrim and Ezra.I hadn’t seen them in weeks. As soon as the doctor had given me a clean bil

“Get the fuck out!” Ezra sneered.I ignored him and made my way over to the bed, but he stepped in front of me and flashed his teeth. I growled at him, but he didn’t even flinch. My eyes narrowed and my fists clenched at my sides.“You’re not allowed in here,” he hissed.“I’m here to talk to Vanya,” I told him.He growled. “She doesn’t want to talk to you.”My eyes shot over his shoulder to her. Her head was bent, her hands clutching at the sheet. I sucked in a deep breath and closed my eyes. The sweet smell of her fear filled the room. She’s scared of me. “Vanya?”Her body jerked as if I’d struck her. Slowly, she raised her head, but she couldn’t look me in the eyes. Her eyes briefly glanced in my direction, then instantly lowered again. What little colour she had in her cheeks when I arrived was now gone.“Get out,” Ezra growled. “She doesn’t want to talk to you.”My eyes snap back to his. “I’m talking to her and not to you.”“She doesn’t want to fucking talk to you! What made you

There was no annoying beeping filling my ears. No machines attached to every possible inch of my body. Everything was silent which made me feel like I was alone, but I knew I wasn’t, because I could feel the comforting weight of another hand on mine.I wasn’t dead.I wasn’t alone. But I was in pain. The constant throbbing of my shoulder and the feeling of fire ants crawling all over my body was pulling me from my sleep.I didn’t want to wake up, because in my dreams, everything was okay. In my dreams, Obsidian was smiling at me, and Ezra had accepted the fact that Obsidian and Devrim loved each other. In my dreams, everything was perfect. But dreams only lasted so long before reality started creeping in and everything crumbled and the real world showed its ugly face.A soft sigh reached my ears, followed by the sound of a chair creaking. The weight on my hand disappeared, making emptiness fill me.I had fucked up and now I was all alone.“I know you’re awake, sugarplum.”I hesitated

It was all part of his plan.If Vanya died, I would be blamed for it. They’d kill me and every other pride member on the island. The humans would be turned against us by Reeves, because he was powerful enough to accomplish that.I knew he had been watching us. I knew he had seen me attacking Vanya.Small cameras had been set up in the corners. The entrance and exit had also been revealed numerous times when he entered and left. The gas he had used to knock me out in order to move me was something they had used in the facility. What was really worrying was the fact that he somehow got hold of the gas in the first place and that he knew so much about me.My eyes darted to one of the small vents I had seen hidden slightly from the human eye. It was how he was planning on knocking me out again.I was just waiting for the right time to strike. I paced back and forth next to Vanya’s unconscious body. Stopping, I licked at the deep wounds on her upper arms. A shudder raced through my body an
