It was the sentence that ran over and over in my head as I waited. Obsidian was silently watching me with those calculating eyes of his.
Why isn’t he saying anything?
I gripped the side of the bathtub when Obsidian continued to stare at me. What if this is one of his sick jokes?
Any minute now, he was going to laugh in my face and tell me how pathetic I was.
But then Obsidian moved.
He gripped the back of Vanya’s neck like he had done the other night, but gentler.
Water splashed against the side of the tub when he pulled her closer to him.
And then, their lips were pressed together.
I couldn’t tear my eyes away from them. There was just something about the way their lips moved together.
I bit my lip when Obsidian’s tongue swiped across Vanya’s bottom lip. She instantly parted them and moaned as his tongue slipped inside. Vanya reached out and pressed her wet hands against his chest, which made him jerk away.
“What did I tell you about touching me?” he growled.
She swallowed and lowered her eyes. “Not t-to touch you.”
“Remember that.”
I tensed when he turned towards me. The look in his eyes made me rethink my words. I tried to catch my breath, but it was hard to, especially when his eyes dropped to my mouth.
He licked his lips and reached out. I heard him swallow and then his lips were on mine.
Fuck.
The whole world stopped.
Every other sound was drowned out by my beating heart.
His lips were firm, but soft at the same time. Fingertips brushed my jaw and then slid down the side of my neck.
I sucked in a sharp breath when Obsidian gripped the back of my neck like he had done to Vanya.
Nothing could’ve prepared me for the emotions that hit me.
I wanted him.
My shaft pulsed with need.
I sucked in a sharp breath when his lips forced mine further apart so his tongue could slip into my mouth. A shudder raced through my body the moment our tongues met.
I wanted to reach out and pull him closer. I wanted to feel his hard body pressed to mine. But through all the lustful thoughts, I remembered his warning. No fucking touching.
I moaned and turned towards him a little more, but a sound broke through the bubble that surrounded us.
I instantly pulled away and looked at Vanya. My first thought was that I had hurt her when I moved, but she was still in the same position and unharmed.
Vanya’s lips were parted, her cheeks flushed with colour that spread down her neck to her chest, and like Obsidian and me, she was panting.
“You liked that, sweets?” Obsidian asked her.
She nodded. “Y-yes. Do it again.”
I licked my swollen lips and looked at Obsidian. Our eyes locked for a second before his gaze dropped to my lips.
He smirked. “A little more practice and you’d be a pro like our little Vanya here.”
He stood and reached for the front of his pants. My stomach clenched when he undid the button. His arousal was unmistakable.
“Have you ever sucked a cock, Dev?”
I shook my head and swallowed.
“How about you, Vanya?” he asked her.
Vanya’s lips parted and it looked like she was going to answer him, but then she slammed her mouth shut. My eyes dropped to her throat when she swallowed.
“Don’t lie to me, sweets,” Obsidian growled.
Her eyes dropped to her hands. “I’ve only tried it o-once, but I didn’t like it.”
“Why?”
I frowned at her. “Did he hurt you?”
Her eyes fluttered closed. So he had hurt her. I reached out to slip a strand of hair behind her ear, but it didn’t make her look up at me like I expected.
“Vanya?”
“H-he kind of forced me to take more of him than what I could handle.”
Obsidian’s hand froze at his zipper. His eyes darkened and his other hand twitched at his side. “I should kill him,” he sneered. “I should fucking kill all of them.”
Vanya’s eyes had shot up to his when he started speaking, but she was staring up at him with wide eyes and slightly parted lips. She wasn’t used to his violent side, and I just hoped that she’d never have to see him when he was lost in bloodlust.
My lips parted, but Ezra entered the bathroom before I could speak. He froze in the doorway and blinked at us. His shock only lasted for a few minutes before it gave way to anger.
“I thought we were going to talk before things went any further.”
I took in his blood covered torso and shorts. What the hell happened to him?
“Oh God,” Vanya whimpered a second before the puking started.
He is defenceless. I could easily hurt him. To be honest, I had considered it, but then Devrim’s words flashed through my mind and pulled me out of my disturbing thoughts.Devrim had been right. But it didn’t make me fear Obsidian less.I sat in the chair a few feet from the bed, staring at the door as I waited for Devrim to return. Every passing second that he was away made my mind race with things that could go wrong.Darkness was creeping in on me, and I had no idea how to handle it.A whimper from the bed made my eyes snap over to it.Obsidian was on his stomach, clutching the pillow beneath his head as his big body trembled. The whimpers changed into growls that made my skin break out in goosebumps. The room suddenly fell silent again, but it didn’t last long.Rolling onto his back, Obsidian clutched at the sheets as his whimpers started up again. It got louder and louder.Tears filled my eyes.It sounded like he was in pain. What am I supposed to do? My eyes darted over to the
I think I’m going to pass out. After everything that had happened, I never thought that I would be returning to the cabin. My steps faltered when we reached the front door. Oblivious to my hesitation, Devrim opened the door and entered. As he turned to close it, his eyes locked on me. “Vanya?”When he told me that Obsidian was sick, the concern I felt had me agreeing to go with him, but standing outside the house made me second guess myself.I was about to face the man who had attacked me, the man who haunted my dreams, and not in a good way.Swallowing, I took a step forward, but my muscles tensed, preventing me from moving.“What’s wrong?” Devrim asked as he walked over to me. “You’ve gone pale.”“I…” My words trailed off when movement behind him caught my attention. My knees weakened when a wave of fear hit me. I wasn’t ready to see him yet!Panic hit next.If Devrim hadn’t grabbed hold of my arms, I would have run away.“Rosebud—”“I don’t want to see him,” I blurted.“Please, Va
What are monsters? The imaginary creatures we were sure hid under our beds? Were they the creatures that the authors and filmmakers created? Maybe the stories told to scare us were monsters in their own way? Or maybe the adults who told us those stories were the real monsters?A monster was cruel and evil.A monster was someone who found joy in hurting others. Like those men who hid in the shadows, waiting for a woman or man to come along. A monster was someone who killed without a second thought.I sniffed and reached up to wipe the tears from my cheeks. No matter how much I tried, I couldn’t pull my eyes away from the group of kids in the alley below me. I had spotted them the moment they entered. One of them had pulled out a knife and was busy dissecting a dead animal. Are they monsters? The moment the kid had pulled out the knife, I had thought of Obsidian, and then my mind had trailed to Devrim and Ezra.I hadn’t seen them in weeks. As soon as the doctor had given me a clean bil
“Get the fuck out!” Ezra sneered.I ignored him and made my way over to the bed, but he stepped in front of me and flashed his teeth. I growled at him, but he didn’t even flinch. My eyes narrowed and my fists clenched at my sides.“You’re not allowed in here,” he hissed.“I’m here to talk to Vanya,” I told him.He growled. “She doesn’t want to talk to you.”My eyes shot over his shoulder to her. Her head was bent, her hands clutching at the sheet. I sucked in a deep breath and closed my eyes. The sweet smell of her fear filled the room. She’s scared of me. “Vanya?”Her body jerked as if I’d struck her. Slowly, she raised her head, but she couldn’t look me in the eyes. Her eyes briefly glanced in my direction, then instantly lowered again. What little colour she had in her cheeks when I arrived was now gone.“Get out,” Ezra growled. “She doesn’t want to talk to you.”My eyes snap back to his. “I’m talking to her and not to you.”“She doesn’t want to fucking talk to you! What made you
There was no annoying beeping filling my ears. No machines attached to every possible inch of my body. Everything was silent which made me feel like I was alone, but I knew I wasn’t, because I could feel the comforting weight of another hand on mine.I wasn’t dead.I wasn’t alone. But I was in pain. The constant throbbing of my shoulder and the feeling of fire ants crawling all over my body was pulling me from my sleep.I didn’t want to wake up, because in my dreams, everything was okay. In my dreams, Obsidian was smiling at me, and Ezra had accepted the fact that Obsidian and Devrim loved each other. In my dreams, everything was perfect. But dreams only lasted so long before reality started creeping in and everything crumbled and the real world showed its ugly face.A soft sigh reached my ears, followed by the sound of a chair creaking. The weight on my hand disappeared, making emptiness fill me.I had fucked up and now I was all alone.“I know you’re awake, sugarplum.”I hesitated
It was all part of his plan.If Vanya died, I would be blamed for it. They’d kill me and every other pride member on the island. The humans would be turned against us by Reeves, because he was powerful enough to accomplish that.I knew he had been watching us. I knew he had seen me attacking Vanya.Small cameras had been set up in the corners. The entrance and exit had also been revealed numerous times when he entered and left. The gas he had used to knock me out in order to move me was something they had used in the facility. What was really worrying was the fact that he somehow got hold of the gas in the first place and that he knew so much about me.My eyes darted to one of the small vents I had seen hidden slightly from the human eye. It was how he was planning on knocking me out again.I was just waiting for the right time to strike. I paced back and forth next to Vanya’s unconscious body. Stopping, I licked at the deep wounds on her upper arms. A shudder raced through my body an
