I frowned at him. “B-but you gave me a pill.”

“It’s a human pill—human medicine to help with the nausea. They assured me that it’s okay for you to take,” Obsidian told me.

Is that supposed to be reassuring?

Human medicine—probably one of those anti-nausea pills which was working great, but it didn’t take away the fact that I might still actually be dying.

“They must have used something else to counteract the tranquilizer in the facility, right?”

“Vanya—”

“Can’t you give that to me?”

“Rosebud, we can’t do that,” Devrim said softly. “We might make things worse instead of better.”

He moved closer and slipped an arm around my shoulders. That small action was enough to make a sob escape.

“I don’t w-want to d-die.”

His hold only tightened. Turning my head, I pressed my face against his neck and cried harder. Devrim was whispering soothing words, but I couldn’t focus on what he was saying. All I could think about was the things I still wanted to do before I died.

“We have one option, but I’m not sure if it will work,” Obsidian’s words broke through my sobbing. “It might guarantee your death instead of curing you.”

I pulled away from Devrim and looked at Obsidian. He looked grim, but there was a determination in his eyes that I hadn’t seen before.

Reaching up, I wiped the tears from my cheeks and blinked at him. “What i-is it?”

He swallowed and seemed to be hesitating. “I could give you some of my blood.”

Both men that were pressed against me tensed. Devrim hissed at him as he straightened.

“No!”

“It’s not—”

“She’s not—”

Obsidian growled, cutting off whatever Devrim was about to say. He slowly stood and straightened to his full height before taking a step towards the bed. His eyes were pinned on Devrim.

“You read the reports. You know exactly what—”

“Outside,” Devrim interrupted him. “Let’s talk outside.”

Without another word, Obsidian turned and walked out of the room. Devrim hesitated, and then with one last glance at me, he got off the bed and walked out of the room while closing the door firmly behind him.

Ezra shifted against me, making me look down at him.

“You’re not going to die, sugarplum.”

I swallowed. “How do you know that?”

“Trust me, I know.” He smiled at me. “My gut is telling me that you’re not going to die.”

There was no possible way for him to know that. If their doctors couldn’t help me, then there was definitely not a cure. Hell, I wanted to believe him so badly. Obsidian had offered to give me some of his blood, which was basically the only option I had left.

“Hey.”

I blinked and realized that Ezra was kneeling between my legs. He reached out and gently cupped my cheeks. Ezra licked his lips and leaned closer.

“We only just found you. There’s no way we are letting you go.”

My breathing increased when his eyes dropped to my lips.

“We are not letting you go.”

And then his lips were pressed against mine. My arms wrapped around his neck and my body arched to press against his.

There was still a bit of hesitance in the way he kissed me, but I wasn’t complaining.

A groan slipped from his mouth into mine.

I was briefly aware of his arm slipping around my waist and pulling me closer. In the next second, I was on my back with him on top of me.

Ezra broke the kiss and brushed his lips along my jaw and down my neck. I sucked in a sharp breath when he nipped the skin beneath my ear with his teeth.

“I want you,” he growled.

I moaned when he started grinding his hips against mine. With the position we were in, his dick was pressed right against my pussy. My hand slid down his back and then up again, but this time, I pulled his shirt up, too.

However, things were stopped before we could go any further. Ezra rolled off me when the bedroom door was thrown open.

My eyes widened when a furious Devrim stormed into the room and right over to me. His body was tense and eyes dark with anger. My eyes dropped to his mouth where his slightly parted lips showed the tips of his sharp teeth.

“What happened to we need to talk before we take things further?” he questioned Ezra.

“You bathed with her,” Ezra pointed out as he sat up.

“But I haven’t kissed her!”

“That’s not my problem.” Ezra crawled closer to me, but he made sure not to touch me again.

I slowly sat up and scooted back to lean against the pillows. “What talk do you keep mentioning?”

Devrim shook his head and waved a hand. “It’s not important now. We need to talk about something else.”

“The whole blood-thing?”

He nodded. “Obsidian made it clear that it’s your choice. There’s nothing I can do about it, even though I don’t want you to go through with it.”

“So—”

“Vanya…” Devrim took a seat on the edge of the bed right next to me and reached for my hand. “You need to think very carefully about this. There could be a lot of consequences. You could die!”

I stared at him silently for a few seconds. “Obsidian said that it’s been done before.”

He pursed his lips and ran a hand through his hair. “It’s not the same. It’s—”

“Yes or no?” Obsidian asked from the doorway. “It’s a simple answer.”

“Simple?” Ezra growled. “There’s nothing simple about it!”

Obsidian hissed at him and then turned his dark eyes on me. “Decide, Vanya.”

Decide? Decide within a few minutes.

Ezra was right; it wasn’t simple. It was a life and death matter. I could die, but then again, I was probably already dying. I had two options; die without trying or die while trying.

Licking my lips, I looked up at Obsidian.

He still stood in the doorway, with his back as straight as an arrow and his eyes never leaving my face.

“Is it going to be the same as a blood transfusion?” I asked. “I’m not very fond of needles.”

“It won’t be done as a medical procedure,” he rasped. “We’ll be doing it differently.”

“How?” I asked. I wasn’t going to accept it before they explained it to me.

“You’re going to drink my blood. Our blood has the power to heal you,” Obsidian answered. My lips parted, but my words died down when Devrim squeezed my hand.

“Please, please think about this carefully.”

I raised his hand to my lips and pressed a kiss to his knuckles.

“You keep talking about things we need to talk about,” I whispered. “What do we have to talk about?”

Ezra shifted around, drawing my eyes to him. “We need to talk about the fact that we want to take you as our mate.”

“W-we?” I squeaked. “You m-mean all of you?”

My eyes darted between the three of them. I’ve kissed both Ezra and Obsidian, bathed with Devrim, and had sex with Obsidian. Surely that had to be the answer to my question.

“All three of us.”

“So you’re not going to force me to choose between you,” I muttered.

“Why would we do that, sugarplum?”

Devrim smiled at me. “If only one of us wanted you, then we wouldn’t have allowed the others to touch you.”

“I thought you guys were testing our compatibility like the women said whenever they gossiped about you.” I laughed. “I can’t believe this.”

“We—”

“Have you made up your mind about the blood yet?” Obsidian interrupted Devrim. “The sooner we do this, the better.”

My eyes snapped over to his and then to Devrim, followed by Ezra. They wanted to make me their mate and I had absolutely no idea what that meant, but I had something more to look forward to, which was why I agreed to drink his blood like a damn vampire.

“Let’s do this.”

He is defenceless. I could easily hurt him. To be honest, I had considered it, but then Devrim’s words flashed through my mind and pulled me out of my disturbing thoughts.Devrim had been right. But it didn’t make me fear Obsidian less.I sat in the chair a few feet from the bed, staring at the door as I waited for Devrim to return. Every passing second that he was away made my mind race with things that could go wrong.Darkness was creeping in on me, and I had no idea how to handle it.A whimper from the bed made my eyes snap over to it.Obsidian was on his stomach, clutching the pillow beneath his head as his big body trembled. The whimpers changed into growls that made my skin break out in goosebumps. The room suddenly fell silent again, but it didn’t last long.Rolling onto his back, Obsidian clutched at the sheets as his whimpers started up again. It got louder and louder.Tears filled my eyes.It sounded like he was in pain. What am I supposed to do? My eyes darted over to the

I think I’m going to pass out. After everything that had happened, I never thought that I would be returning to the cabin. My steps faltered when we reached the front door. Oblivious to my hesitation, Devrim opened the door and entered. As he turned to close it, his eyes locked on me. “Vanya?”When he told me that Obsidian was sick, the concern I felt had me agreeing to go with him, but standing outside the house made me second guess myself.I was about to face the man who had attacked me, the man who haunted my dreams, and not in a good way.Swallowing, I took a step forward, but my muscles tensed, preventing me from moving.“What’s wrong?” Devrim asked as he walked over to me. “You’ve gone pale.”“I…” My words trailed off when movement behind him caught my attention. My knees weakened when a wave of fear hit me. I wasn’t ready to see him yet!Panic hit next.If Devrim hadn’t grabbed hold of my arms, I would have run away.“Rosebud—”“I don’t want to see him,” I blurted.“Please, Va

What are monsters? The imaginary creatures we were sure hid under our beds? Were they the creatures that the authors and filmmakers created? Maybe the stories told to scare us were monsters in their own way? Or maybe the adults who told us those stories were the real monsters?A monster was cruel and evil.A monster was someone who found joy in hurting others. Like those men who hid in the shadows, waiting for a woman or man to come along. A monster was someone who killed without a second thought.I sniffed and reached up to wipe the tears from my cheeks. No matter how much I tried, I couldn’t pull my eyes away from the group of kids in the alley below me. I had spotted them the moment they entered. One of them had pulled out a knife and was busy dissecting a dead animal. Are they monsters? The moment the kid had pulled out the knife, I had thought of Obsidian, and then my mind had trailed to Devrim and Ezra.I hadn’t seen them in weeks. As soon as the doctor had given me a clean bil

“Get the fuck out!” Ezra sneered.I ignored him and made my way over to the bed, but he stepped in front of me and flashed his teeth. I growled at him, but he didn’t even flinch. My eyes narrowed and my fists clenched at my sides.“You’re not allowed in here,” he hissed.“I’m here to talk to Vanya,” I told him.He growled. “She doesn’t want to talk to you.”My eyes shot over his shoulder to her. Her head was bent, her hands clutching at the sheet. I sucked in a deep breath and closed my eyes. The sweet smell of her fear filled the room. She’s scared of me. “Vanya?”Her body jerked as if I’d struck her. Slowly, she raised her head, but she couldn’t look me in the eyes. Her eyes briefly glanced in my direction, then instantly lowered again. What little colour she had in her cheeks when I arrived was now gone.“Get out,” Ezra growled. “She doesn’t want to talk to you.”My eyes snap back to his. “I’m talking to her and not to you.”“She doesn’t want to fucking talk to you! What made you

There was no annoying beeping filling my ears. No machines attached to every possible inch of my body. Everything was silent which made me feel like I was alone, but I knew I wasn’t, because I could feel the comforting weight of another hand on mine.I wasn’t dead.I wasn’t alone. But I was in pain. The constant throbbing of my shoulder and the feeling of fire ants crawling all over my body was pulling me from my sleep.I didn’t want to wake up, because in my dreams, everything was okay. In my dreams, Obsidian was smiling at me, and Ezra had accepted the fact that Obsidian and Devrim loved each other. In my dreams, everything was perfect. But dreams only lasted so long before reality started creeping in and everything crumbled and the real world showed its ugly face.A soft sigh reached my ears, followed by the sound of a chair creaking. The weight on my hand disappeared, making emptiness fill me.I had fucked up and now I was all alone.“I know you’re awake, sugarplum.”I hesitated

It was all part of his plan.If Vanya died, I would be blamed for it. They’d kill me and every other pride member on the island. The humans would be turned against us by Reeves, because he was powerful enough to accomplish that.I knew he had been watching us. I knew he had seen me attacking Vanya.Small cameras had been set up in the corners. The entrance and exit had also been revealed numerous times when he entered and left. The gas he had used to knock me out in order to move me was something they had used in the facility. What was really worrying was the fact that he somehow got hold of the gas in the first place and that he knew so much about me.My eyes darted to one of the small vents I had seen hidden slightly from the human eye. It was how he was planning on knocking me out again.I was just waiting for the right time to strike. I paced back and forth next to Vanya’s unconscious body. Stopping, I licked at the deep wounds on her upper arms. A shudder raced through my body an
