Chapter 8

Eve POV

The sound of my blaring alarm pulls me out of my deep slumber, and I groan tiredly, forcing my eyes open. It's still the middle of the night, but I have some work to take care of, that's why I'm waking up at this time.

I yawn tiredly, swinging my legs down the bed, and getting on my feet afterward. With my eyes half-closed, I drag my feet sluggishly into the bathroom. I'm so exhausted, and as much as I need to get some sleep, this work is important for me to do over the night.

Stepping out of the bathroom after I wash my face to get the sleep off my eyes, I walk over to my bed and throw my heavy weight on the edge, reaching out to my laptop afterward. I begin my work once it's on.

After working on the laptop for what seemed like forever, I was about to turn it off, when a message from the company pops on the screen. I sigh briefly. Why would the company email message me at 1am? I mean, who the hell is controlling the messaging center? I open the mail reluctantly,
