Why's she here

The door to the bathroom pulls open revealing a young handsome man as he walks in elegantly. Standing in front of the mirror and staring at his perfect reflection in the mirror, the corner of his lips curves into a smile, revealing his one-sided dimple.

Running his fingers through his raven hair as he throws his head back, his broad chest widens as his perfectly toned abs tug up, revealing his six packs which are perfectly built.

The sound of his ringing phone pulls his attention, and he rolls his eyes as he walks over to the bed where his phone is laying helplessly. Seeing the caller ID, he sighs briefly knowing that he's in for some frustration this morning. It's his mom.

"Hey, mom," He says as soon as he answers the call.

"Where did you keep your phone, son? I have been calling you," She complains, and he checks the screen of his phone for any missed call, but there's none.

"I'm sorry, mom. I was having my bath," he apologizes, even if he knows that this woman never called him. Letting her frustrate him this early morning is the last thing on his mind.

"Have you called Emily? I told you to call her. She's coming to Oklahoma soon, you should bond with her over the phone before she comes over to..."

"I will do that later, mom," He cuts her off, even if he knows that nothing can ever make him do that. He's a grown man, so why the hell would his mom insists that he be with someone he doesn't even know, just because she wants him to? Well, his mom has been forcing him to talk with some lady over the phone after showing him a couple of pictures of her, and he has been stuck with her for a while now, although he's still looking for a way to sort things out.

"That's my son. I will be back soon, you should take good care of your dad, OK?" He nods his head to her words, even if she's not seeing him. All he wants is for her to end the call, so he can finally go to work.

"Hmm... I'll do that, mom," He says to her.

"I got to go now. I love you," She says from the other end.

"I love you too, mom," He says and the call finally drops dead, forcing a sigh of relief off his throat.

My name is Jayden Turner, twenty-nine years old heir to the Turner's family, and the new CEO of Turner's enterprise, since his dad, the former CEO just resigned, the company was willed to him. Being the only child of his extroverted business-minded, classy mom, and his introverted wealthy dad, Jayden has many responsibilities to take on, of which one of them is to make sure that his parents are happy. Since his dad has aged so fast, his mom has been the only one doing the business and traveling when necessary. This is how they have lived their lives all these years.

Stepping out of his room, he walks down the spacious hallway.

Descending the grand staircase a few minutes later, he meets his dad in the living room, watching the morning news as always. It has just been two weeks since Jayden arrived in Oklahoma, and one thing he has come to know about this man is his love for news.

"Good morning, dad," He smiles heartily at the old man, getting his attention.

"Good morning, son. Did you sleep well?" He returns the smile as he glances at him, and takes his attention back to the TV almost immediately.

"Yes, dad. I'm off to the company," Adjusting his tie with his left hand, he says o him.

"I thought you aren't going to resume today, it's already past 9am," Mr. Turner pulls a surprised look after he checks his wristwatch.

"I had a hectic day yesterday, trying to set up some things, so I slept off quite late. See you later dad, I have to be on my way now," And with that, he strides to the door and exits the living room.

He hops in his car when he arrives at the parking lot, and drives out of the compound. The drive to the company was quite stressful as he got stuck in a traffic jam for a few minutes, and as if that was not enough, a young lady messed his day up for him. She was so annoying and full of disrespect that he doesn't want to ever set his eyes on him, ever again.

Arriving at the company a few minutes later, he hops out of his car and stares around the place which doesn't seem like it has changed a bit, even if it has been a while since he was last here. A middle-aged man of about forty-five to fifty years of age rushes toward me and takes my briefcase.

"Good morning sir," A middle-aged man came rushing toward him and takes his briefcase.

"Morning," He walks ahead of him to the entrance door and steps into the building afterward. The interior is still looking the same way that it was three years ago when he was last here.

"This way, please," The man he still has no idea who he is, directs him to the elevator. A few minutes later, they both walk down the hallway that leads to God knows where, before they finally stop in front of a door, and the man pushes it open.

Stepping into the spacious office, he nods my head in satisfaction. The interior design is really beautiful and eye-catching, whoever designed it must be a pro at this, he concludes.

"Sir, the staff are all waiting for you to come to address them," the man's voice pulls him out of his train of thought, and he turns to face him.

"Oh! Alright, I'll be there," He replies to him.

"Alright, sir. I'll be right outside your door. Call me if you need anything," And with that, the man turns to go, but he calls him back.

"Uhm... What's your name?" He asks him.

"Liam Harper, Sir. I used to be your dad's secretary, but now your secretary," He replies to him, and he nods his head slowly. He can't help but wonder what made him think that he's going to continue to be his secretary that made him conclude that in such a hurry.

"Oh, I see." This is crazy! The fact that he used to be his dad's secretary doesn't mean he must be his secretary, right? There's no way he was going to let an elderly man work as his secretary, right?

Mr. Liam bows slightly before he turns around and strides out of his office, closing the door gently behind him.

A few minutes later, he ambles out of his office, and as soon as he steps out, Liam quickly stands up from behind his desk.

"Oh, you're here Sir. This way, please," Mr. Liam gestures toward the door after he pulls it open, and he walks out. Mr. Liam closes the door gently behind him, before leading him away.

After a few minutes' walk, taking different routes, he finally pushes the door open, revealing the large office.

The staffs quickly stand up and assemble as soon as he walks in, but his eyes are on Evelyn that's seated there without acknowledging his presence. He squints his eyebrows after he scrutinizes her with his eyes. She was the same lady that disrespected him on his way here. What's she doing here?
