LOGINChapter 2
"This....This is wrong! I am not my mother...I have been nothing but faithful to you and my oath as the luna of this pack." She tried very hard to blink back tears. She would not show him her tears, not now, not in front of the omega. "You cannot take a concubine to replace me because of some stupid folklore! I have done my duties to you and to this pack. I have taken everything you have dished out at me. I have been submissive, I have been the perfect Luna, so don't stand there and use something like that as an excuse for your obvious infidelity!!" Elara had forgotten her voice could be that loud. It truly had been years since she stood up to him or anyone. Smack!! The force of Alpha Lucan's slap made her head tilt to the side, wringing her neck in the process. Elara squeezed her palm into a tight fist, her blood boiled from the humiliation. It wasn't the first time her mate was hitting her, he always struck her, but never in front of of an audience, in the presence of Sera no less. "Lucan..." Elara managed to whisper TWACK!!! Before Elara could even prepare herself for the second slap, it landed right across her face. "Don't fucking talk to me right now!!!" Elara's ears rang, with white noise filling her entire head... "Look how you're embarrassing yourself and our family in front of dear Sera. I'm pretty sure she is shocked to see us like this. She used to admire you, you know... Didn't you, Sera?" Alpha Lucan turned to ask Sera who still stood behind him, watching. "Uhm, yes Alpha" the slithering creature said. "See? And now you've gone and ruined it! How would you teach her now?" Alpha Lucan said before grabbing his 'dear Sera' and walking out of her dressing room. Immediately she was alone, Elara let the emotions she had been keeping at bay and putting a tight leash on to wash over her, but she put her hands to her mouth to keep the sound of her crying from getting too loud and attracting an audience. He was all she had now, she was the Luna. Elara would not throw that away because she had been hit by her mate... Keeping the peace was what a Luna was meant to do, and the would do her duty. Immediately Alpha Lucan and his new concubine left, Elara slowly dropped to the ground, hugging her knees to her chest. She was not in the mood to party. What was she supposed to be celebrating anyway? If she stepped out of the room, she would be expected to smile, to laugh and be the joy and strength of the pack. She did not have it in her. Her heart felt like it was being squeezed over and over again. Thoughts of her future kept rolling around in her head. As it stood, she had no real future, her at least, not a happy one. She was loosing. She was loosing everything. The first tear dropped on the floor between her feet, then the rest followed. How could she continue to live like this? Cursed… The word continued to ring in her head. She was the cursed Luna of the Night Light Pack. Just as the thought began to sink into her head, a gloved hand appeared in front of Elara’s blurred vision. Elara stood quickly and immediately began to wipe her eyes. The last person she needed to see her crying was the pack's priestess. Morgana. The High Priestess, as well as the mouth piece of the moon goddess. And right now with Elara's tear streaked face and snotty nose, she was not helping herself gain points with the priestess. As Elara righted herself, cleaning her face and clearing her eyes, Morgana's dark eyes scrutinised her. "My Luna, you act not like the luna of the night light pack, but like a simpering girl!" Elara sniffled and dragged in mucus in response. She dared not speak when the lady was speaking even though they were almost the same age, and by hierarchy, Elara was higher than her. She was Luna afterall, second to the Alpha, but Morgana just had a way of commanding attention and respect. "As much as it hurts any female to share her man with another, you must remember the bigger picture" "What picture? Morgana, I'm loosing my family. I'm loosing everything" “You do sound like a loser. Like puny little girl with no upbringing. Wet behind the ears." Morgana said and leveled Elara with a disapproving look. "I am doing my best, but Alpha doesn't see that, and now we're going ten steps backward!" Elara said feeling the anger rise back up within her. "What about everything I have taught you? You are not just Luna for our Alpha. You are Luna for all of us. The entire pack. And your duties include keeping the alpha satisfied. Even if the satisfaction may not come directly from you.” “What?” Elara tried and failed to hide her hurt… “You knew about this? And I am just finding out today?” “What does it change if you find out today, tomorrow or two moons ago? The pack needs our Luna today…” Morgana said as she walked with calculated steps towards Elara and stood right in front of her. "You were born on such a dreadful day in the history of our kind, and you bear the mark right on your head to show for it." Morgana lifted her gloved hand to touch Elara's pure white hair, but quickly dropped her hand. "It is a pity you were burdened with this predicament, but it is all the more reason you should do your duty. Show the pack that prophecy or not, you are with them. You are on their side. You are their Luna" Elara nodded, even though that was the last thing she wanted to do. When she had first been announced as Luna of the Night Light Pack, Morgana had been with her as a companion even though she kept a healthy distance from her so Elara could not even pretend they were friends. Elara did not complain too—not when Morgana knew everyone in the pack and outside of it. She’d been the one presiding over the various ceremonies, before Elara showed up—and with Elara's presence, she had also been relieved of all those duties. Before long, she began to choose what dress Elara could wear, what silverware complemented each meal, even what meal the alpha would prefer at a certain period of time, it was all for her own good, she had told Elara severally. "Today, the pack does not need a jilted bride, we need our Luna. You must remember that as much as it is your birthday, it is also the anniversary of the death of our former Alpha, and the day, the curse came to be" She walked a steps away from Elara and turned towards the door before saying "Remember Luna, you're a reminder of so many bad things. You should try to make us remember the good things too" And then walked out, her temple cape fluttering behind her. Elara recognized that tone of finality. Whenever she began to act 'difficult', She knew that Morgana's next point of action would be to subtly remind her of her 'curse'. As much as Elara tried not to, she was slowly beginning to believe she was truly the subject of the damned prophecy everyone had been talking about since her birth. There was no one with pure white hair amongst the werewolf clan. It was always midnight black to dark blonde. There was no one else. With a deep sigh and her still broken heart, Elara decided to go out there and pretend everything was fine. The grey-haired elder bowed his head even lower, his hands trembling with remorse. "We are especially sorry for making you suffer for so long under a fake prophecy, Alpha Elara. We forced you to hide, and we made you believe your beautiful white hair was something you should be ashamed of, when it was the very mark of your royal lineage."Elara looked at the elders, her expression calm but carrying the full weight of her authority. "The past cannot be undone," she said, her voice steady and clear. "You were blinded by a tyrant's magic, but the fog has cleared. Silvermoon will no longer live in the shadows of shame or false words."Selena stepped forward, her robes rustling as she raised her hands in a quiet blessing. "The Moon Goddess judges the heart, not the illusions cast by evil men. Your repentance is noted, and the spirits of Silvermoon’s ancestors finally rest easy knowing their true bloodline has reclaimed this ground."A heavy silence settled over the room as the final me
Zara stepped up to the bassinet, her heels clicking softly against the hardwood floor. She looked down at the newborn, a slow, mocking smile spreading across her face before she reached in and scooped the sleeping alpha pup into her arms.Pinned hard against the wall, Dorian and Willow thrashed against the crushing weight of the shadow's magic that kept them frozen to the wall..."Put him down!" Dorian roared, his wolf clawing furiously beneath his skin, trying to break the barrier. "Touch him and I will tear you limb from limb, Zara! Put the baby down!""Leave him alone, you psychotic bitch!" Willow screamed, spitting a barrage of curses as she tried to force her magic to ignite. "Don't you dare touch him! If you hurt him, Riven will hunt you to the ends of the earth!"Zara completely ignored their threats, adjusting the infant in her arms with sickening ease. She turned slowly to face the struggling wolves, her eyes gleaming with absolute malice as she took in their desperate,
"What do you mean?" Riven’s voice dropped, a hard, dangerous edge cutting through his tone. He stepped closer to the Priestess, his aura flaring slightly with the demanding weight of an Alpha. "Selena, if there is a threat coming for my mate and my son, I need a name. Elaborate. Who are we dealing with?"Selena met his gaze steadily, though her hands trembled slightly beneath her robes. "I cannot, Riven. Not yet. Giving a name to an ancient shadow gives it power, and right now, I have only suspicions based on old lore. If I am wrong, I cause unnecessary panic. If I am right... I need time to consult the sacred texts to be absolutely certain how to fight it."Riven looked ready to argue, his jaw tight with frustration, but Elara gently placed a hand on his chest, her touch instantly soothing his rising temper. He took a heavy breath, forcing his posture to relax, though his eyes remained guarded."Fine," Riven growled softly. "But the moment you know something concrete, you tell us
Selena stared down at Morgana, her expression remaining entirely unmoved by the tears."I am not letting you out of this cell today, Morgana," Selena said, her voice calm but completely final. "But I will make you a promise. If we verify your story, and if the details about Zara’s benefactor check out, I will come back for you. Until then, you will stay right here where I can have my eyes on you."With that, Selena turned on her heel and began to walk out of the dungeon, Riven and Elara following close behind her."Selena, no! Please!" Morgana screamed, grabbing the silver bars in her desperation, entirely ignoring the sharp sting of the metal against her skin. "I'm telling the truth! I swear to you, I'm telling the truth! You can't leave me here! I can't live without my magic much longer! It's killing me, Selena!"Her raw, panicked cries bounced off the damp stone walls, but Selena didn't look back. From a few cells down, a harsh, mocking laugh cut through Morgana's sobbing."
Elara was running through a thick, endless fog. The air was freezing, sticking to her skin like ice. She couldn't see her hands in front of her face, but she could hear a low, scraping sound of heavy chains dragging against stone.Suddenly, the fog parted. Standing before her was a towering, shadowy figure. It had no face, only two hollow points of cold, empty darkness where eyes should have been. This was definitely not how the moon goddess appeared to her... this was different... this was evil... pure evil...An icy wind whipped through the dream as the being stepped closer. The air in her lungs turned to frost. When it spoke, the voice didn't come from a mouth; it echoed directly inside her mind, heavy, grating, and freezing cold.“You think you have won, little wolf,” the voice whispered, sending a shiver of pure terror straight to her core. “You think your fragile peace will last. But what is mine will be taken. The board is set, and the pieces are already moving.”The shado
Lucan stared at her, his jaw trembling as her words sunk in. The anger in his eyes was slowly being replaced by a deep, frantic confusion. "How?" he whispered, his voice shaking. "How do you fake a mate bond, Zara? It’s a spiritual connection! It’s the Goddess’s will! You can’t just... fake that!"Zara let out a sharp, mocking laugh, leaning closer to the bars to look down at his miserable face."Oh, Lucan, you really are a hopeless romantic, aren't you?" she taunted, her voice dripping with venom. "It's hilarious that you think the Goddess has anything to do with what's happening now. The truth is, the person by my side only needed you for a very brief moment. You were just a temporary distraction, a pawn to move a few pieces around the board."She paused, watching him process the harsh reality of how completely insignificant he truly was."And now?" Zara smiled cruelly, taking a slow step backward into the center of the dark hallway. "They are completely done with you. You’ve o
Elara opened her mouth to argue, but Riven didn’t give her the chance. His arm stayed firm around her waist as he guided her out of the room. She was too weak to fight, too overwhelmed to speak, worst of all, the dizzying spells confused her more than anything else. Before long, the familiar haze
Elara looked from above, on the throne, down to the bowing heads of the people and focused on looking around the large space, trying not to gape at how devastatingly beautiful the Blood court was. The second pack Alpha Riven ruled was beautiful!!! She had thought it was just a small community of o
The entrance to the Blood Court loomed ahead...a massive stone arch carved into the mountain itself, guarded by two armored wolves who stood straighter the moment they caught sight of Riven. They didn’t speak, but the deep bow that they gave was enough words for Elara. Then, they just stepped aside
Elara’s life had become a complete shitshow! And yet, he wasnt frightened... not of the madness that had become her life, or of the fact that she would be walking on her own two feet into a den of traitors and power-hungry liars. No, what unsettled her was something much worse. The role Riven had a
