Jessie's Pov

Frantically dabbing at the streak of tear with my index finger, I swirled around and turned my back on them. I made to walk off from the scene when I heard what made me stop. Turning back around, I was met with startled Melanie.

"Get off me, I want to sleep." Xander grumbled, slumping right on the floor when does as per his instruction and rose up to her feet.

And that was when I realized he had came home drunk and she must have took that advantage on him. My footwear made a soft plush, causing Melanie to look side way, taking in my presence.

"How long have you been standing there?" She asked, not expecting to find me here.

"Long enough to see how cheap you are." I replied, shrugging nonchalantly. Her face flared red immediately and without having to crosscheck, I know I just managed to get under her skin. At that, I mentally patted myself on the back.

"How dare you say that to me?" She scowled, angered.

She must be feeling guilty just because I caught her in the act.
