Chapter 1: Her Rebirth

DAHLIA

I looked at him with disbelief as I watched him push me off the cliff, and on the ground, there was a pack of rogue hunters who were eagerly feasting at me.

My eyes looked at my fiancee, who was coldly looking at me as if I was some kind of useless object that was meant to be discarded.

I saw the way his lips curved and there was satisfaction in his eyes that can't be hidden which made my heart clench. It was as if a rose pierced my heart and its thorn was wrapped tightly around my heart.

I couldn't believe that after all those years they spent together, he would still end up betraying me.

Why?

I badly wanted to open my mouth to ask him why he did this to me, but I couldn't muster the courage to ask him.

It wasn't because I couldn't, rather I was afraid of hearing the cruelest words from the mouth of someone whom I loved.

“Fool. Now look at your beloved man, he just pushed you off the cliff hahaha...”

It was the voice of the rogue behind laughing and mocking my naivety, but it was as if I had become deaf. I couldn't hear anything but only the sound of the blood boiling inside of me.

I groaned from the pain that I felt behind me. Red liquid starts to flow out of my mouth as my vision starts to blur.

I couldn't care less about the rogue hunters who were screaming in delight as they kept on stabbing me from behind.

I desperately raised my head to look up above the hill and there was still a tiny hope that I was clinging to myself, hoping that he would come back to save me.

Yet in the end, he cruelly left me.

“Heh. After all the things I sacrificed when I was with him... he just discarded me like that just because he felt that I'm useless now?” A mocking grin appeared on my bloody lips, making me look terrified.

“He discarded me because he couldn't take care of someone like me whose legs were paralyzed after saving him?” As soon as I said those words, I started laughing madly.

It was as if my heart was tightly clenched by someone, making it difficult for me to breathe. I felt suffocated at the thought that my love for him was in vain.

I didn't care about the rogue hunters who were attacking me from behind. I groaned from the pain and let them attack me for all they wanted. Anyway, I can't move to save myself because I'm already disabled after saving a heartless man, so what's the use?

Good. Good.

I clenched my fist tightly as my eyes viscously stared above the hill. Anger started to rise in my heart.

Kaleid Del Fuego! If there is a next life, I will painfully let you experience the pain and the betrayal that I felt after you betrayed me!

I'll never forget this! I'll never forgive you! I'll let you taste how it feels to be in despair!

Even if I became a ghost, I'll hunt you!

I could feel my blood kept boiling inside of my body as my eyes turned red from anger. The red liquid kept on dripping down from my body as tens of daggers were stabbed behind me.

The pain made me want to die.

I noticed that everything around me turned red and blurry. I could taste the rust in my mouth as it dripped down continuously.

I know I'm going to die.

However, I won't rest in peace unless I tear him to pieces!

I let out a mocking laugh for the last time as I closed my eyes. Even if I were going to sell my soul to the devil just to get my revenge, I would do so!

There's nothing more dangerous than a woman whose heart is scorned.

Just when I thought I would find myself in the underworld, I found myself lying comfortably on a soft single bed.

My eyes wandered around my surroundings with widened eyes. I glanced at myself, especially my legs that were paralyzed for years, and tried to move, which, only to find out that I could move my legs.

Tears brimmed in my eyes as I carefully climbed off the bed, afraid that it might get hurt or broken. I don't want to experience being disabled again. I felt helpless and powerless.

I felt like I was dreaming. It has been a long time ever since I could walk.

After half an hour of walking back and forth, I finally got the clue.

I was reborn.

More like I came back two years ago before I was kicked out of the pack because someone kept on insisting on the crime I didn't commit.

“Pfft... hahaha!”

I laughed whole-heartedly as I wiped my tears out of joy.

Who would have thought that the universe gave me a second chance for my revenge?

Suddenly, I heard someone knocking on my door.

A familiar voice rang from outside.

“Dahlia my dear, you're going to be late for your class.”

Hearing its voice, tears started to fall from my eyes.

“M-Mother...” I softly uttered as I stumbled my way out of the door.

As soon as I opened the door, I hugged my mother tightly and buried my face in her neck. Scenting such a familiar and comforting scent made me tear up.

Seeing her daughter acting like this, Amelia couldn't help but feel worried.

“What's wrong? Are you okay? Do you want me to contact your school and excuse you for being absent today?” Amelia softly asked while patting my back to comfort me.

I stretched out a smile with reddened eyes as I shook my head. “No, there's no need. I'm fine... it's just that I missed you very much.”

Hearing my daughter's words, Amelia couldn't help but chuckle as she said in such a soothing tone. “My dear, we just talked last night.”

I didn't say anything in response to my mother's words. Me, I wasn't able to be with them or see them for years.

I can still remember the bloody scene I witnessed when I came back from the academy only to see that my parents were covered in blood, the flesh was ripped apart and they were left lifeless on the floor.

I couldn't help gritting my teeth in anger whenever I remember that day. On that exact day, I was framed by someone, telling everyone that I was the one who made a deal with the demons and led the disaster toward their pack.

But now that I come back, I won't let that disaster come. I won't let anyone destroy me or my family again.

As for the one who framed me, better pray that I'll never catch them, or else they will be my sweetest prey.

I'll sip all of their blood and tear their flesh piece by piece.

For all the things I've suffered from them, I'll slowly give them back one by one.

A murderous intent flashed in my eyes from the sight that my mother couldn't see. For now, I'll act naively, kindly, and gently in front of others, as if those people didn't have any debts from me.

“Mother, where is father? I haven't seen him greet us.” I softly asked while I retracted from hugging her.

Amelia froze from her spot and looked at me with a forced smile, gently comforting her with her words.

“Your father is fine. He is currently recovering in his room.”

Just when I was about to ask further, she patted me on my shoulder. “Now, now, don't worry too much about your father. He will be fine. After all, he's strong. Besides, I'm here to take care of him, so you should go to your school now.”

I stared at her for a second and saw that she was sweating... more like she was nervous, afraid that I might find out that something big had happened to my father. But in the end, I let out a heavy sigh and left with no choice but to nod my head.

“I understand.” I calmly replied, making Amelia smile in relief.

I pursed my lips and left the house. Even if I didn't visit my father in his room, I know that the injuries he got were serious. After all, I've already seen it in the past because I kept on insisting my mother let me see my father.

I didn't insist any longer earlier because I know that father doesn't want me to see him in that state.

My father... he is such a proud man.

When I saw him back then on the scene, he couldn't even lift his head to look at me. That's the moment that he lost his self-confidence.

Because what he wanted to imprint on my mind is that my father is a strong man.

I let out a heavy sigh and took back my murderous intent. I did the breathing exercises before I returned to my normal state.

The gentle and naive Dahlia that they know.

“Dahlia!”

I stopped walking when I heard a nostalgic voice coming from behind me.

I looked back and smiled sweetly. “Uncle!”

Uncle Ben nodded in satisfaction as he walked in my direction.

“How's your father? I heard that he was injured last night?” He looked at me with worry.

If I didn't retain my original memories from the past, I would have believed in those sincere gazes of him that fooled me in the past, believing that he was an ally.

Yet, in fact, he is a traitor.

I stretched the back of my head and looked at him with innocence.

“Don't worry too much, Uncle. My father is already fine and he's currently sleeping right now.”

Hearing my words, I saw the way his smile was crooked but he still squeezed out his smile.

“T-Then that's good. It's good to know that he's fine.”

Disgusting.

I smiled sweetly and nodded my head. “Yes! You don't need to worry too much, Uncle. I'm going to the academy now. Bye-bye!”

When I turned back, the smile plastered on my lips disappeared.

A smirk appeared on my lips as I softly chanted in my heart.

Uncle Ben, you've fallen into my trap. Let's see how you plan to destroy my father the way you made my father disabled in the past.

I'll take care of you first.

MORIARTY

Moriarty has something to say: To my reader/s who will be reading this story, I hope that you will continue to support Kaleid and Dahlia's journey until the end. By the way, the male lead is gentle on the outside especially when facing others but in fact, he was already blackened. The female lead is also manipulative. I hope that you will enjoy and continue to support their journey as much as how I enjoyed giving them life. I love you.
