ELARA'S POV

I watched as the servants moved about diligently, preparing things for our journey. I tried to assist but no one would let me. I still wasn't used to having people at my beck and call though I was quickly realizing I would have to get used to it and to my new identity.

......

I had told Beros about the necklace and where I knew it was, the place it was calling me to.

The images I saw were of a pack fenced off with high fences and a huge black iron gate.

The pull of the necklace was

ELARA’ S POV“So now that we’ve established that this so called abyss is too unsafe –“ Alicent gave me a stern look “what should be the next course of action?”Everyone was quiet.“Well, I think it would be to wait –“ Lioren said.“But we can’t just wait, it’s too dangerous, we have to do something, anything, look what he did to Beros, think of what he could do to us” I pointed at Beros. They couldn’t be serious right now. How could they suggest that we should wait and see.“Do you expect me to sit and wait for Nyxar to attack? I couldn’t do that. If they didn’t want to make a move, I would.“No Elara, we’re not saying you should sit back and let him attack” Alicent touched my arm, I looked back at her, not realizing I had stood up during my outburst.“We’re just saying it’s best to plan. Attacking him head on and going into the abyss would just be suicide”.“Except she wants to sacrifice herself again, she always does” Beros’ voice made me snap my head to him.I could see the anger b

ELARA’S POVBeros’ recovery over the next few days surprised everyone. Once again, he was nothing like the entity that had been draining me endlessly. I only had to feed him my essence one more time and he was okay, helping us plan towards Nyxar.“How many times did you say your blood was collected again?” I asked, recalling what he had said as he tried to narrate the parts he remembered to all of us.“I honestly can’t remember,” he shrugged. “At first it was to create that clone, but then the woman came several more times and took more of my blood”.“We need to find out what they have planned with it, it can’t be good”“It’s been bothering me” I replied to Lioren “what could Nyxar have planned to do with a deity’s blood? There were many things he could do with it, but what exactly?Solas walked into the room quietly, his aura too much for a fae, but all of us were accustomed to that by now. I had even told Beros what happened when he noticed the kind of aura Solas emitted. He had sim

  • REJECTED BY THE ALPHA, CHOSEN BY THE MOON   Back to you

ELARA’S POVAfter the short meeting and after we had all decided to be ready and start preparing for the inevitable attack. I went to check on Beros. The servants had cleaned him and changed his clothes and from the looks of things, he had settled into a more peaceful sleep, rather than being unconscious. I smiled at that.I took the time to examine his features, his cheek were more sunken in than I remembered, his hair had grown longer and there were dark circles under his eyes. Those beautiful eyes. The cave had taken a toll on him. Nyxar would pay. I didn’t know I had been clenching my fists until my nails grazed the skin of my palm. I quickly unclenched my fists and took a deep breath. As long as he was here and safe now. That was all that mattered. I walked up to him and placed a hand on his chest. Speeding up the process was important now, who knew when Nyxar would strike? So just like I had done with the clone, I infused some of my essence into him, but as I did so, I didn’t f

  • REJECTED BY THE ALPHA, CHOSEN BY THE MOON   One step ahead

ELARA’S POVWe walked through the gates of Nythera to find both werewolf guards and fae guards standing at the entrance. “What’s going on here?” Solas asked.“Oh, Elara, it’s you” Alicent said, walking up to me from between the crowd of soldiers.“What’s going on?” I asked her as she pulled me into a hug, I watched her eyes land on the figure on Solas’ back.“Finally, you found him. Are you? Are you sure –““He is, he’s the real one now” I saw her let out a breath“What’s going on?” I gestured to all the soldiers stationed at the gate.“Well, Lioren felt a strange power at this gate, so she ordered all the soldiers to come here, we thought it was Nyxar preparing to attack again” she paused to look carefully at me, her eyes darting to the bracelet on my arm. “But it seems like –““It was you.” Lioren cut in before Alicent could finish what she was saying. I hadn’t even notice her walk over to us. “It was you, you were the power I felt at the gate, you’re – you’re complete now” she sa

  • REJECTED BY THE ALPHA, CHOSEN BY THE MOON   The final piece

ELARA’S POVSolas and I had found a spot in the forest and we laid Beros on the ground. It had been hours but he was still unconscious. I worried for him, I wish I could use my powers to heal him, but I needed it to get us out of here, and the sooner, the better. We weren’t safe here.Solas returned from wherever he had gone to, carrying a dead animal with him. My eyes followed him as he laid the animal next to the small fire he had built.“What is that?” I asked, eyeing him warily. The amount of power he possessed didn’t sit well with me. I was sure in my current state I wouldn’t stand a chance against him.“Rabbit, I caught it, for dinner” he said, not looking up from the rabbit as he began to skin it.“Has he woken up yet?” He asked titling his head towards the sleeping form of Beros on the ground.“No – not yet”“Hmm, isn’t there anyway you can maybe speed up his healing, like you had done with the clone?” I sighed again “yes there is, but I can’t right now. I need to rest until

  • REJECTED BY THE ALPHA, CHOSEN BY THE MOON   The rescue

ELARA’S POVSince I had already found the right entrance, Solas and I wasted no time as we walked through the entrance. Our sphere of light glowed slowly in front of us, leading the way.The pathway stretched deep into the ground, I could feel us going deeper into the earth with each step. Just how big was this cave? We continued walking and I kept on testing the bond for Beros, I could feel us getting closer to him with every step we took.We had walked for a long time, not encountering any more beasts of any kind. Maybe Nyxar didn’t think we would be able to make it this far to rescue him. With a few more steps, the pathway opened into a bigger one until we found ourselves in an open space, filled with candles lining the walls. There was no other cave or exit from this place, only the way we had gone in.I adjusted my eyes to scan the cave when I heard the sound of chains rattling. I looked towards where I had heard the sounds from, and there I saw the faint outline of a man. Beros
