Connor

The birds chriped sweetly from outside, and I hummed in satisfaction as the morning sun showered on my face.

A smile widened my lips, it was a good day.

Or I thought it was until my hand wandered around the bed, and I came across nothing.

No one.

Empty.

My eyes flew open almost immediately as I sat up straight, and it turns out my hands didn’t lie. Aubrey wasn’t in bed.

She wasn’t in the room, and by the time I searched the whole room, she was not here. Even her stuff was gone.

Could my mother have done something? Did my mother take her? I began panicking as I wore my clothes in haste. If my mother did something, this time, I wouldn’t hold back like the last time.

I’ll end her for good.

I rushed towards the door, but my gaze caught a piece of paper on the table.

I do not remember it being there earlier. It must be Aubrey.

I picked it up and my eyes ran through the paper, each sentence breaking my heart into a million pieces.
