I was busy concocting a remedy while the atmosphere in the room was filled with anticipation. I worked with speed to mix the herbs that I had gathered with careful hands. My heart raced with the hope that this remedy could save Lady Seraphina. The air stirred with the scent of crushed leaves, and I concentrated hard on the task so as to create a brew most potent for this purpose.

“Clark,” Lucian murmured under his breath, watching me closely. “Do you really think this will help her?”

“It must,” I said, glancing towards his mother, pale and weak on the bed. “These herbs have a strong healing capacity. If we can reverse its action from the poison, she can recover.”

Once mixed, I poured the dark liquid, which smelled strongly, into a little cup and walked back to Lady Seraphina. “Drink this,” I said softly, handing the cup out to her. “It will help.”

With trembling hands, she took the cup from me and drank a little of the potion. Each swallow was agonizing for me as I hoped and prayed that the brew would kick in. After lying still for a moment, I saw some strength return to those eyes.

“Thank you, Clark,” Lucian said, relief washing over his voice as he regarded his mother. “I can’t believe you did this. You saved her.”

“Not yet,” I warned, staring hard at his mother again. “We need to watch her closely. The poison can give unpredictable reactions.”

Lucian nodded his thanks. "I don't even know how you learned to heal like that. It's amazing."

I hesitated, unsure how far to go in explaining my past. "I was exiled and stayed with a great healer. He taught me so much: healing techniques, herbs, and the magic of nature."

"Exiled?" Lucian echoed, a look of confusion furrowing his brow. "I never knew.. What was that like?"

"It was... difficult," I responded, remembering those times with gloom. "But the knowledge I acquired became a strength for me. That was my way of surviving."

Concern took over Lucian's expression. "I'm sorry you had to go through that. No one should have to go through that."

"Thank you," I said, holding his eyes. "But I did it for my son, Lorenzo. He deserves a mother that can protect him."

"Lorenzo..." Lucian trailed off again, his brow furrowing. "I know you care for him a lot. He is lucky to have you."

"Luckier than anything; he is my everything," I said firmly. "But, Lucian, you need to understand one thing: do not trust Sarah. She is not who you think she is."

"She is my Luna," he said, his eyes wrestling with confusion and loyalty. "You don't understand the bond we share. She has always stood by me."

"Do you really think that? Sarah has her own agenda. You've seen how she treats me, how she tormented Lorenzo. You need to wake up to the truth before it's too late.”

Lucian sighed and ran his hand through his hair in frustration. "I wish I could see it your way, but I have known Sarah for so long. I can't just turn my back on her without proof." "Sometimes proof is in front of you," I said, my heart heavy with the knowledge I carried. "I know it is hard to believe, but her motives are impure." He turned his head as if trying to shut something out. "I will hear what you say, Clark. But at the moment, I have to focus on my mother getting better. She comes first." I nodded; I could respect this loyalty. "That's fair. Just promise me you won't let your guard down around Sarah. She's dangerous."

"I will," he said, though his eyes showed uncertainty. "Thank you for everything. I don't know what I would have done without you."

As we stood together, the oppressive atmosphere of the room began to lift a little. His mother was still being observed; she was slowly regaining some pink in her complexion. The flame in me flickered with hope that perhaps we were on an upturn.

More hours slipped by, and the night thickened while I sat alongside Lucian, staring at his mother. With every second, the umbilical cord tied stronger, fueled by shared concern and growing regard for the struggles on our sides.

“Clark,” Lucian's voice was soft in the silence. “I can’t lose you again. I know that things between us have been complicated, but I want us to work together. For our families.”

“Together,” I repeated, feeling the heaviness of his words in my heart. “That’s all I’ve ever wanted to protect my son and create a safe environment for him.”

He nodded, fierce determination in his gaze. “We’ll find a way to make this work. I promise you.”

Hope welled up in me along with the fear of the unknown challenges that lay ahead. The road wouldn't be easy, with the threat of Sarah hanging heavy, but I was going to fight for my family and life that we deserved. Together with Lucian, we would brave the dark, pull all stops to find the truth, and take back what was rightfully ours.

The silence was rent by a sudden crash as the door flew open. I spun around in shock as Sarah blew in, the very air thickening with a heavy energy that made my skin creep. Her eyes blazed in fury, and her lips snaked in a snarl.

“You!” she spat, the finger pointing at me. “What are you doing here? You have no place in this palace, in this pack! I am Luna. I will not allow you to thrive under my authority!”

I straightened up, instinctively putting my hand on my heart with anger. “This is not your place when you treat others with scorn, Sarah. I am here to assist Lady Seraphina, and that is all that matters right now.”

Her laughter came out as a bitter laugh. "Help? Do you think you can just walk in here as if you belong after everything that has happened? You're just an outcast. You were exiled for good reason!"

  • RETURN OF THE LUNA: RECLAIMING HER BACK   Sarah's Memory

Sarah POVI sat in a dim light within my chamber, the candle flame flickering, casting shadows on the stone walls. The air crackled with that familiar energy, alive with the excitement of yesterday's events. I had been telling what happened to Beta Jax, my confidant and, if I’m honest, my lover. There was wonder and concern in his eyes as I prepared to plunge into the turmoil we both saw."What happened yesterday.” Jax asked. I leaned forward slightly. "I trailed our warriors into the enemy territory. The hunters were on Lorenzo's tracks, after he followed them."“Why did you leave so suddenly yesterday, I missed you.?” Jax interrupted, his brow furrowed. “You know how important this was for us! We could have been together, and I wanted to be there with you.”I hesitated at what I could see was Jax's annoyance starting to flare up. “I had to make a decision, Jax. I couldn't just jump in blindly. You know the situation was very serious. I had to think it through strategically. Besid

"Enough!" I shouted, raising my voice in defiance. "You may have convinced Lucian of your merit, but I know who you are. You are poison to this pack, and I will not stand idly by while you hurt anyone else.""Watch your tongue, Clark," she hissed, advancing on me. "You are playing with fire. I will not hesitate to remind everyone just who it is that holds sway here."Before I could respond, the brush of the door was thrown wide. I caught a glimpse of Lady Seraphina. She was thin, faint from her past and with pain as she stood in the doorway. "Sarah, please—" she started, but Sarah gave her a scornful glance."Stay out of this! You're lucky to be alive, and it's all thanks to her!" Sarah yelled at me, one hand pointed straight at my face. "But don't you think for a second that she's here for your benefit. She's playing a game, trying to worm her way back into Lucian's life."My heart pounded in rhythm to the accusation, but before I could defend myself, I turned back to Lady Seraphina.

My preparation of the herbs I had gathered filled the room with a weighty silence. Dim light seeped through the win- dows, casting soft shadows that danced along the walls. Lucian's mother lay on the bed, breathing shallowly and laboriously. I felt, in my heart, the urgency of the moment, knowing I had to save her.In their squeezing, the crushed herbs sent their potent aroma nostrils wide open. The mixture had to be perfect; it was my only hope to counteract the poison that had found its way into her system. "Clark," Lucian said in a whisper as he watched me. "Do you really think that will help her?""It has to," I answered, casting a glance toward his mother, pale and weak lying there. "These herbs are quite strong in healing. If we can counteract the effects of the poison, she might recover."With the mixture prepared, I poured the dark, aromatic liquid into a small cup and went to Lucian's mother. "Drink this," I urged gently as I held it out to her, "It will help."Quaking finger

The air in the forest was heavy with tense anticipation as we emerged from the shadows. Moonlight cloaked the world about us in an otherworldly glow. I could feel the adrenaline still rushing through me, each pulsating wave igniting my fierce desire to protect my son-from those awful one-on-one encounters with Sarah. But all of that was dismissed the moment we went into a clearing: the ominous weight lay upon my heart-mixed with fear and uncertainty over what lay ahead.Lucian stood by my side, a tortured, desperate urgency stamped outwardly upon his face. "Clark ," he stammered, his voice gaining strength, yet each word rife with emotion. "You must come back to the Palace.”I I turned toward him, my brow furrowing. "Back to the palace? After everything that has just happened? The thought of facing Sarah again makes me sick. You know I cannot do that. I can't stand the idea of her tormenting Lorenzo while I'm there." "Please," he said, stepping in even closer. "My mother's health is

  • RETURN OF THE LUNA: RECLAIMING HER BACK   Deep inside me

I dashed through the woods with the weight of the herbs steady in my grip and an urgency flowing through my veins. Lorenzo needed my help-a need to thwart further danger for him. But as I neared the village, a ghostly twist in my stomach told me that something was dangerously wrong.Just outside the healer's house, before entering, I transformed back into a human form with my heart weighed down by anxiousness. “Lorenzo!” I shouted, my voice cutting through the stillness. “I’m back!”I received only silence in response. Panic chewed me up from the inside. I ran to the door, kicked it open, and it revealed nothing but an empty room and a heavy silence that sent shivers down my back. The healer was long gone, and there were no signs of my child.“Where is everybody?” I muttered as the terror weighed down in my stomach. I wheeled around and dashed for the central square, with the same feeling of chaos brewing just beneath the surface. As I came closer, muffled sounds reached my ears: cea

The very air crackled with chaotic energy in the village. We walked into the healer's house with the strong scent of herbs permeating the air mixed with the warmth of flickering candlelight. I placed Lorenzo on a wooden table in the middle of the room as my heart raced, panic coursing through my veins."He has to be helped!" I begged, trembling in fear. "Please, he's losing so much blood!"The healer, with kind eyes and silver hair, stepped forward. Her expression went from calm to urgent in seconds. "Get him water and clean cloths," she ordered in a commanding tone. She began quick examinations of Lorenzo's injuries while I scrambled for anything she wanted."Clark, stay by his side," the healer told me, her hands working nimbly over my son. "You need to be strong for him."I nodded, my heart breaking as I watched the healer applying pressure to Lorenzo's throat, her hands deftly trained. "He is going to be fine, right?" I said, my voice growing desperate. The healer looked up. "He i

  • RETURN OF THE LUNA: RECLAIMING HER BACK   The Shattered Moment

Clark POV My now panicked thoughts surged southward, where everything dull was drowned in a river of panic. "Lorenzo!" I screamed its inarticulate cry, with all the desperation in my heart. The world around me dimmed; I saw only my son; the horror of his situation now pierced my heart like a dagger.James, the Silver Fang warrior, stood there, wearing a cruel smile, his eyes sparkling with sadistic joy. "Look how easily your love can be crushed!" he mocked. "One simple choice, and your precious son suffers.""Let him go! You don't have to do this!" I screamed, a tremble in my voice fully justified under this heavy shroud."Oh, but I do," James said, gripping Lorenzo's neck even more tightly. "This is a lesson for you, Clark. You should have known better than to challenge the Silver Fang Pack.""Please!" My heart galloped in my chest as I struggled against Lucian's fierce hold on me. "Don't hurt him!"Across the throat of my son, James snapped his claws with one swift brutal motion. I

  • RETURN OF THE LUNA: RECLAIMING HER BACK   Heart of Grove

CLARK We gazed upon the sacred grove infused with ancient magic and mystic powers. The trees stood tall, their leaves glimmering under the moon's pride and casting inscrutable shadows about us. I turned to Lucian, burdened by weighty decisions yet to be made.“Lucian,” I said, voice steady with underlying concern, “about leaving the herb we actually came for. Your mother wants it, but... the Moonstone… could go even further.”Lucian's expression grew even more grim. “Clark, the Moonstone does not allow for contemplation. Silver Fang Pack gets it first, they get to use powers we cannot contend with. We must protect our pack.""But your mother..." I began, but he interrupted. “She can wait,” he called, now in a near-hiss of urgency. “We cannot let the Moonstone get into the wrong hands. The time is now for this choice.” I took a deep breath to relieve the tension binding us between. “You're damn right. We're getting the Moonstone and then deciding how to get the herb. We have to do t
