“I have no intentions of being your partner. I would reject you over and over again-” Before I could complete my statement, he slapped my hand away and grabbed my jaw forcefully, staring intensely into my soul. “If you dared to reject me I would forcefully mark you, Athena.” *** She was a human, Athena Becker. A human who killed the mate of a merciless Alpha for revenge; Alpha Darius Alfonso of Scarlet Moon pack. Heartbroken at the death of his Luna, he went on a path of vengeance to give her twice as much suffering for killing his mate. He was ready to torment her. Make her his slave, her, do the worst to her. But, there was one obstacle in his path. Athena was the special huntress of the King of Alphas of that land. She had his protection but when he was determined to take revenge, he would break all boundaries too.

What is the worst feeling for an Alpha? Losing his Luna.
And I lost mine.
“No, no, no, don’t leave me like this, Blue. Stay. You can’t leave me like this.” Whispering desperately, I hugged the bloody body of my Luna closely.
I denied it from the bottom of my soul but the sensation of our bond being broken and my mate losing her life in my very arms was extremely clear.
I couldn’t save her.
I was too late to save my Luna.
“Shit, shit, shit, no, What will I do without you?”
Our bond was breaking, my soul was screaming that I am losing my mate.
My gray eyes filled with angry tears, my black hairs were messy, all over my face but I ignored my terrible condition and focused on her, constantly growling in rage.
“Da.. rius..”
She coughed up blood, holding my hand weakly in her soft one. She had barely any time left. I knew I was being punished for my sins.
I was going to lose my Luna.
“Blue…”
I kissed the back of her palm, refusing to let her go, emitting shallow breaths but deep down I knew I would be punished.
She smiled in pain, bringing her hand closer and cupping my cheeks but instead the blood on her hand tainted my skin.
Shaking, I was hesitant to let her go.
I was unable to think properly. To lose your mate was the most gut-wrenching feeling ever.
“Who did this to you? I swear, I would kill that person in the worst way possible. Just tell me who it was? I will avenge you.” I growled, holding her hand again tightly.
My jaw clenched, my anguish was converted into pure anger. My heart was burning with the urge to rip the person apart who dared to hurt my mate.
“Just tell me the name and I would do the worst to that person.” I hissed.
And when I was outraged, Blue released a tear along with a declaration that was going to change my life forever-
“Your sins… are going to chase you, Darius…”
She told me my future before dying and I neglected it.
I knew I didn’t lead the most inspiring life but that was in the past I left behind five years ago.
“I don’t care about anything. Just tell me who it was! I don’t care about anything anymore!” I growled, curling my hands in a fist.
Tears were shining on my face, holding her crimson body to my chest, embracing her with all my might.
“It's…”
She groaned in pain, holding onto me for the final time.
“The Red… Huntress.”
Those became her final words as she looked at me for the last time before leaving me alone in this cruel world.
She told me the name of the ruthless huntress who ripped her life apart and took her last breath.
“What…? A human… Kill a Luna?
My eyes widened in utter disbelief. Not expecting that huntress would target my Luna and for what reason?
I have only heard how beastly she is, she was always on outer boundaries. I have never seen her and how dare that bitch targeted my mate.
But- why my mate? What did we do? Why torture me?
“Blue? No, no, you can’t do this to me. Don’t leave me yet, Blue. Wake up. Blue!”
Losing myself, the pain in my body was immense, the bond was broken. The ache confirmed it. Whatever me and Blue used to have was now dead.
I have lost my Luna…
“No!!”
Gasping in pain, I held my chest, gritting my teeth to bear with this unbearable feeling. For five years we were together and now…
Everything was turned to ashes.
“Blue!!” I called her loudly, as a few tears spilled without any control, converting into pure agony and rage.
I swear whoever it is, it will pay.
And when I was scattered, devastated over my mate’s dead body. Completely broken- I heard a mocking voice coming from above.
“Tch, tch, tch. How sad.”
When did someone come?
Scowling, my body was ignited with rage because of that cape and scarlet bow, I knew instantly, it was the Red Huntress.
She had stumbled upon her death. A fiery fire was evoked inside me as my grip tightened on Blue, growling furiously.
“You…”
Furiously, the moment I looked up, I greeted those undesirable familiar blue eyes which vanished my fury for a heartbeat.
“...Are alive?”
How could this be possible? Didn’t she die that day? Wasn’t she in the dungeon?
I thought it all ended five years ago but I was wrong.
“Alive and much better than I was once with you.” She snickered, smirking, not leaving her lips.
Her chestnut hairs flowing along the air, upholding a dominant presence. Her sapphire eyes were now dead.
“You are the Red Huntress?” I asked vaguely, scanning her.
My eyes widened in disbelief, a needle pierced my soul when I saw the woman whose path I left five years ago was before me.
Seeing her brought back terrible memories.
Athena Becker…
“Yes. I am the Red Huntress.” Her soft, velvety yet cold resonance came, smirking at my pain.
She smirked at me how I smirked at her when I shattered her life.
I understand now. My sins are chasing me.
Those piercing blue orbs glanced at my mate’s body and then at me laughing at my pain.
“Such a compelling sight. How does it feel to lose your greatest strength, Alpha Darius Alfonso?”
The woman before me was not the woman I knew five years ago. I could tell by one glimpse.
She had turned stone-cold, heartless.
She had become a huntress.
“How could you…” I growled, curling my hands in a fist, losing my composure upon witnessing her.
No matter what, I couldn’t neglect the fact that she killed Blue and she is going to pay for her actions.
How dare she take my hatred on her.
“Why did you do this to Blue?! What did she do wrong?!” I yelled, heartbroken.
“If you wanted revenge, why didn’t you kill me?! Why hurt her!?” I continued, tears glistening in the corner of my eyes but she didn’t take my words seriously.
“What fun would that be? How do you expect me to end everything so quickly? This is only the beginning.” She hummed, leaning her shoulder against the tree, releasing a tempting aura.
What we used to have was dead and she had no right to kill Blue.
I swear, I would make her pay.
“Why Blue?!” I yelled again.
“You are asking this, you fucking murderer?!” She scowled.
Snapped at me for a moment but soon regained her posture with a deep breath. She closed her eyes for two seconds and when she opened them, she was in her compelling demeanor again.
“Ah, I was dying to see how tears would see you.”
A seductive smirk spread across her soft features, waving her hand in the air before sitting down on the branch.
“Must be the first time losing a loved one, hmm?” She mocked, coming down to indulge in my agony. She was loving my pain, my tears, my heartbreak.
‘That already happened.’
I thought but silenced my words and kept glaring back at her. The throb of losing my mate overwhelmed me.
“You…”
Outraged, I converted my grief into wrath and power so I could teach this woman a lesson. I transformed and jumped to attack her.
She didn’t die back then but today she would.
With my very hands.
Being an Alpha, I was extremely fast and threw her against the tree but she was no longer the woman I used to know.
“Damn you.”
She winced and took out her bow and hit my leg. What a deadly precision.
When did she learn it?
I growled, not expecting her to catch up with my speed but I forgot that she was not my Athena- I mean- She was The Red Huntress.
“You damn woman…” I growled, coming to attack her and tackled her, making her cough up blood.
“Tsk, damn you.” She spoke coldly, rising from the ground, brushing the dust from her uniform.
Infuriated at her mockery, I subdued the pain in my body. I won’t stop today. She would pay.
Pouring all my strength, I jumped to kill her, I won't spare mercy. She killed Blue, she won't get away with it.
She was also about to release her arrow on my face.
One of us was going to kill another at this very moment.
“Darius.”
“Athena.”
Her features abruptly dropped dead serious, glaring at me which indicated that she had returned to take vengeance for what I did. Circumstances have changed. Things were going to be different.
“I told you, didn’t I?”
We both had a glaring competition, on the verge of attacking each other and growling at me, she enunciated her revenge.
“I will kill someone you love one day.”
And returning the growl, I declared my intentions too-
“And I will kill you in the end.”

I have created this place for you guys, for us.” She nodded sorrowfully, curling her hands in a fist from powerlessness.“Janine.”Returning a sweet smile, Athena held her shoulder, giving it a stern squeeze. Sighing, she removed her hand and returned a beautiful toothy smile.“But, no more tears. This is yo
PAST.DARIUS ALFONSO.A tear rolled down my cheek, I was with Janine, curling my hands in a fist, gritting my teeth."Why did this happen to me?" I growled after finding Blue as my mate. She was on the ground with a graceful smirk over her lips, pushing her short hair behind."You are the first person I have seen who was depressed after meeting his mate." She teased me but I was not in the mood for it."What should I do? Why didn't you do anything?" I argued, holding my sides, pacing around with frustration. She scoffed, "I am not your babysitter. They are going to keep an eye on you. If they find out you are with a human- they will kill both of you.""I know. But, I don’t want to break Athena's heart. She is too fragile, Janine." I whispered desperately.I was afraid of her reaction, afraid to hurt her and I knew this bond would drown me in the end- which it did.Rising from the ground, she stared dead into my eyes."Do whatever you want but if my sister's heart breaks- so will your
I was in utter disbelief when I saw her, looking more elegant than before. Her hairs grow long but the dominance surrounding her never faded.“You… are alive?” I asked vaguely.Clinging onto Darius’s arms, blinking in confusion at her while she merely smirked at my reaction.“Yes. Alive and well.” Nodding her heels clicked against the floor, approaching us gradually while turning her glance to King Hadrian.“I don't understand… how..?” I asked, swallowing hard, turning to Darius and back to her.“I couldn’t understand, they told me you had died, I was accused of it then how..?” I asked, narrowing my eyes with bewilderment. But displeased with my reaction, King Hadrian turned to me, frowning at me.“Are you deaf, Athena? I just told you she helped me in assassination.” He mocked, reminding me.But I was too lost in Darius’s words and my realizations that I failed to grasp the depth of his words. Janine was alive all along.“She was there all along.” King Hadrian scoffed but I was too
A needle pierced through my soul when I heard it. I could feel my worlds coming to a crash when the truth hidden from me came to the surface. In a hidden corner, I prayed that he had a reason. And I kept hating him for five years.“No, this ill fortune land. How could it do this to me?” I whispered, covering my mouth. My steps stumbled but Darius held my shoulder, staring intensely at my teary eyes hoping to console me but nothing could help me.“As long as it was a juvenile love, they ignored us but after my mate… After finding Blue, I… remained loyal and committed to you.”How wrong I considered him?“Three months after meeting Blue, you were with me, you didn’t leave me. You… loved me all this time.” My lips began to shake, holding him with all my might, tears blurring my vision. He nodded, heartbroken, “Yes, I did and they came to know about it so I had to make a harsh choice and to save you, I chose Blue.”He explained and I continued from where he left off, completing the jus
“My revenge is completed today.” “W-What? All this… y-your revenge?” He couldn’t form a sentence properly anymore. His jaw dropped, losing his breaths to perceive what he heard but to no avail. The look of flabbergast on his face was extremely desirable. “T-This can’t be… We were mates.. Weren’t we?” “So what?” He shivered, having no words at this point while deep down he understood that it was all my plan but was not ready to accept it. “What? You thought I would be weak and pathetic again after seeing how weak ones are treated in this cursed land?” “What everything… a lie? A ruse?” He asked and I couldn’t answer. No. It wasn’t. “Weak dies. That is the rule and you are not the only person who is good with manipulation.” I told him seriously. Pointing my finger at him, pressing it over his heart, feeling how rapidly it was thumping. “Manipulation?” He was in complete shambles, not wanting to believe what he was hearing but I confirmed it. “Although you almost broke m
We were in the throne room, tears were glistening on my cheeks, clinging onto a female hunter who was hugging as I sobbed. “Monster.” I hissed at Darius, holding her while glaring at him. Darius was before everyone. He was on his knees, hands cuffed behind his back, looking down while everyone was staggered how he could do this. But he knew he fucked up because of being too emotional. “Continue.” King Hadrian came, frowning deeply at Darius, motioning to the person to start the court where his punishment shall be decided. “Name?” They asked Darius. His head was hanging low. Failing to look up, curling his hands in a fist as I kept glaring at him with my watery eyes. “Darius Alfonso.” His cold tone came out. “Status?” They asked him again strictly. “Alpha of the Scarlet Moon pack.” “Crime?” “Cold blood murder of Jax, head of the hunters.” I growled to find this look of emotionless on his face, having no regret of staining his hand in Jax’s blood. My Lord growled to he
