After leaving the main hall, I left to see Jax who was lost in his world and stopped when I came, waving at me.

“Hey. Where were you?” He asked casually, going back to his weapon and cleaning them.

“King Hadrian stopped me. He was going through one of his ‘moods’.” I muttered.

Shaking my head, brushing my hand over my shoulder to remove the sensation of his firm grip on it.

“Oo~ Did he do something?” He asked, arching an eyebrow in amusement.

“You know the usual, holding me, asking about his mate, losing himself.” I hummed.

Stretching my arms, not thinking deeply about it. He would forget it like I would in no time.

It never mattered in the first place.

“Must be excruciating for the King to be without his Queen.” He said nonchalantly, not thinking about him.

“I guess. Thank God we humans don’t have to deal with this mate ordeal.” I sighed and thanked to not having such a bond in life.
