RISE OF THE REJECTED ALPHA QUEEN

Nessa POV 

I stood before the pack council and my Father, Alpha  Marcus, at the moon ritual ceremony. 

Tears welled up in my eyes, my voice cracking. "Please, High Priestess... seal my wolf," I begged, my hands clenched into fists, my nails digging into my palms.

 My chest heaved with a pang of desperation, as I stared directly at the high priestess.

I was hoping my dream would finally come true.

I had come here on my own initiative to partake in the ritual so I could finally be with Blaze, the Alpha I love, who was the leader of the Crescent Moon pack.

The High priestess swallowed hard, breathless as a cold silence enveloped the Sacred Altar with every gaze locked on me.

“ No, I won't allow this, Nessa. You are my sole heir and the Lycan Queen of this pack, “ my father said, his jaw tightening, his commanding blue eyes blazing with fury.

My heart hammered against my ribcage as those words escaped from his lips.

 Why ?” my voice rang out in a choked whisper as he frowned deeply at me ,his expression darkening .

“ You bear the symbol of the stormvale pac,k “ he explained, clenching  his chin and my heart shattered into pieces with his gaze lingering on me. 

“ But Father,I'm past the marriageable age," I cried out, my chest tightening.

I stood breathless, my face pale, as something flickered in my father's eyes, an expression I had never seen before.

“ There are many young men out there from reputable families you can choose from. Why are you so hell-bent on choosing Blaze ?” His voice was sharp, slicing through the air like a blade.

My name is Nessa Reed, the only daughter of Alpha Marcus, the Lycan king and heiress to the leadership of the Stormcrest pack.

“ But Father I don't have any feelings for any of the eligible suitors you handpicked for me “ I replied, my voice breaking as his cold eyes turned murderous.

“ The feelings will come and this has been tradition “ his tone was flat as his predatory gaze never left mine .

The air around me went still as a deep silence fell.

“ Alpha  Marcus is the best promising man out there , you love him and you have been childhood sweethearts from childhood “ he added his words cutting through me like ice.

Of course my father was right. Marcus was the Alpha of Boneshaven pack,the biggest pack after ours   and a suitable candidate worthy to be my husband.He was  every lady's dream but he only had eyes for me.

“ But I don't love him anymore” I replied, my voice breaking as tears clawed up my throat with a taste of saltiness in my mouth.

“ What ?” My father asked in confusion, rolling his piercing eyes at me.

“ You have always loved each other, why is this just coming now ?” My father demanded his eyes hardened and I twisted in fear.

“ I have never loved him “ I corrected my lips quivering and everyone's eyes widened with terrified gasps rippling among the crowd the moment I uttered those words.

“ This marriage has already been decided so stop spewing nonsense “ my father hissed his jaw tightening.

“ Father, this issue concerns me and I know what I am talking about” I said, my eyes pleading for a  rethink.

He arches a brow battling his eyelashes at me.

“ Who could be better than Alpha Marcus? We have your best interest at heart” he asks me directly, his lips twitching in rage as he casts a menacing look at me.

“ Blaze is a better option father” I murmured and everyone exchanged glances.

I flinched,my heart racing with my arms crossed at my back .

“ You can't go against my order and that is final “ my father groaned ,his voice commanding with anger coursing through his veins  which sent a shiver down my spine.

“ But Father…” Before I could finish my sentence,the high priestess stepped forward,her heels clicking sharply against the ground as she moved inches close to my face.

“ Your highness the Alpha is right “ Nora the high priestess responded  with a heavy sigh.

“ You have the legendary white wolf, the most powerful wolf born once in centuries “ she explained with bitterness coloring her tone.

I was blessed with a white wolf which was unique and the purest bloodline by the moon goddess.

“ I don't want”I screamed with tears gnawing at my throat .

“ Your highness  don't do this please listen to your father” she whispered with pleading eyes urging me to  reconsider my decision.

“I don't want power if it means losing Blaze “ I murmured coldly my words vibrating through the air like a bell .

“You are giving up your white wolf for a nobody alpha from a weak pack” my father snapped, his face drained of color and my blood ran cold.

“Why?”he demanded, his firsts curling into balls  and I straightened.

“Because he is my mate “I answered lowering my head.

“ Mate ?” How can you be mated to someone like him “ my father spat his eyes darkening.

The words hit me like a physical blow.

“ Father, he is my mate and I want no one but him, “ I declared.

His eyes widened in disbelief as he swallowed hard,my words tasting like metal on his tongue.

My father had always treasured me above everything and hearing me make this unacceptable request breaks his heart.

“I know that the white wolf must stay within our pack bloodline that's why I must give up my wolf to be with Blaze “ I whispered 

“Very well once you become a rogue do not come back to this pack without your white wolf “ he leaned forward  gritting his teeth.

I stood frozen. Nobody dared breathe as his cruel words lingered in the air like a death sentence.

“Don't regret it “ he added, raising his finger, his tone firm and resolute as he turned his heel  walking away.

Panic grips my heart, my cheeks burning as his  sharp words kept replaying in my head.

“Nessa”I gasped as I heard the voice of my best friend, Marcus.

He had blue piercing eyes with golden curly hair which fell on his shoulders , with his gaze locked on me.

“We have been friends since we were kids Marcus “ I muttered, my voice heavy as I spoke.

“But I have made my decision “ I whispered sadly, his heart breaking into pieces as he fought back the tears which had gathered in his eyes.

“Take care of my father please “I said, my voice faltering.

He nodded his head slowly 

“High priestess seal my wolf “I begged, my voice trembling as my knees suddenly went weak.

“ If you do this now it cannot be undone”she faced me as Marcus pushed back the tears that warmed his cheeks.

“ I'm ready” I spoke as she looked at me, her hands in rhythmic motion with chains encircling me as my wolf cried out in pain.

My pack symbol began to fade, under the moonlight vanishing into thin air.

“It's done, you are now wolfless “ she mumbled softly .

 A searing pain struck my heart with the feeling of something tightening around me.

“I did it for you Blaze you are all I want in this world “ were the words that  were left in my mouth as my world collapsed into darkness.
