Chapter 5

Nessa POV 

“ What did you do ?”Britney growled, her eyes widened with her voice cutting through me like shards of ice.

Her gaze felt like needles gasping in shock ,her pupils dilated, clenching her jaw at my action.

My hand hit his cheek so hard that it made him tilt his head .

Tears streamed down Ronan's face as he held his cheeks in pain which had my fingerprints imprinted on the left side of his face.

“ Mom it hurts” Ronan let out a cry which echoed in the building 

My ears were ringing with his screams with Britney examining her son.

“ Shit “ she replied in a straight voice, placing her hand on Ronan's forehead battling her eyelashes at me.

Her face was pale with concern in her eyes 

“ How dare you slap my son?” Britney snarled, rolling her eyes at me .

She glanced at me with an annoyed expression like I had committed an abomination.

She stepped forward,her gaze darting between me and her son with rage burning through her.

“ He deserves to be hit because he can't just do whatever he wants” I retorted back  in a harsh voice.

She frowned deeply,her eyes still on me with an annoyed grunt.

“ How dare you talk back to me and harm a hair on the future alpha body! “ Britney questioned angrily, her words piercing through the air like needles.

I swallowed hard,heat pressing against my skin as her mouth twisted into a malicious smirk .

“ Don't cry Kaleb “ I mumbled to my son, blinking my eyelids at him with a weak smile on the edges of my lips.

Pain streaked in my chest as her eyes flashed something vicious ,my arms trembling with heat chilling to my pores.

“ Get her “ she ordered her guards who grabbed me with their grip on my body .

Their shoes clicking against the ground sent a wave of shiver through me.

“ Get away from me “ I screamed as they grabbed my shoulder.

 Their hold was  tightened before they  threw me at her feet roughly with an annoyed expression.

“ Argh “ I let out a whimper,my breathing heavy with color draining from my face.

“ You cannot just do whatever you want “ I said and  a deep silence washed in the room followed by  a devilish laughter .

My blood runs cold,my heart thumping loudly in my chest.

“Well my son can do whatever he wants because he is the future alpha “ her lips curved into a sneer dripping with sarcasm.

Pride rose in her chest as I watched her 

mutter with arrogance .

My  stomach dropped as she delivered those fatal words which pierced my heart with pain coursing through my body.

I shook my head in disbelief as she cupped my chin,her thumb brushing against the corner of my mouth.

My body stiffened with tears trickling down my face .

“Your son is a monster “I said  and her eyes grew wide as the words left my lips with rage climbing into her soul.

The words hit her like a slap in her face.

“Know your place, you and your bastard child are just slaves to the ash claw pack”she snapped clenching her jaws in anger.

“ My son is not a bastard “I replied ,my hands curling into fists locking my eyes with hers.

“Look at you you can't even protect your own son because you are wolfless “ she snickered with disgust coloring her tone.

“Yeah you are helpless, what are you gonna do?”she asked in a low tone glaring at me.

She let out a vicious smile and her eyes fixed on the cupcake clasped in Kaleb's tiny palm.

Without thinking,she lashed out hitting the cupcake out of his hand making it splatter all over the floor.

I gasped in shock. I knew Britney never liked me but it never occurred to me that she could hurt a little child.

“No my daddy gave that to me, that was the only thing he ever gave to me, “ Kaleb cried in pain trying to scoop the remains of the cake but she stood in his way impeding his movement.

Daddy this daddy that your mommy's too powerless to save you so you don't even deserve a daddy “ she spat angrily and my chest widened in pain 

“No I have a daddy and a mommy “ Kaleb whispered ,his voice shaking as her eyes landed on him like she was going to tear him apart.

My stomach sank in fear and if looks were daggers, Kaleb would be covered in blood by now.

“Come after me instead of picking on a child “I shouted trying to free myself from her men's hold but they were too strong for me.

“If I hadn't sealed my powerful white wolf I could have protected my son “ That was the thought lingering in my mind as she gave me an evil grin.

“You don't get to choose, you threw yourself at blaze and now you are his little gold digger “ her expression hardened and my heart felt like shattering into a million pieces.

“You can't even protect yourself “she continued with a stern expression 

“You lay one finger on my son and I will …” my face turned red with anger but before I could finish my statement she cut me off.

“You will just be  helpless and cry “ she added coldly 

“Watch me while I hurt your son and you can't do anything about it”
