Announcement of new Project Head

Brian tried to say something to the nurse when he felt a strong blow over his head like someone hit him. He tried to turn around but his injuries made him trip and fall on the floor. All Brian could see was the person’s shoes. Brian recognized those shoes very well as he himself was big fan of shoes. It was 1950s Monk Black Vintage shoes. Brian’s consciousness again gave in and he fell unconscious again.

The man say X carried Brian in his arms and took him back to his room. The man put the Brian’s body on the hospital bed and went away.

Brian on the other hand once again fell into the land of dreams.

Brian was waiting on the garden bench for someone. He had a book he was reading but that was strange. He does not like reading the books. He was more like a movie person but that book was special. It was her wife’s favorite book, Nebulous (Evil within) but where was his wife, Brian wondered. Brian looked around but found no one. He was getting worried now. He closed the book and stood to do a patrol of surroundings. He went close to the beautiful Lilies. He remembered buying them frequently for his wife. His wife loved lilies. But something was different about these lilies. Something was wrong. There were stains of blood in its petals and coming down the stem, there was a blood trail, filling and soaking the soil in blood but where was it coming from. He looked for the source and realized he was the one bleeding and the blood was coming out of him. He looked at himself in confusion and closed his eyes with a belief that he might wake up from his dream. Will he?

Jerika was nervous as there was going to be an announcement regarding the project head. She had worked too hard so she deserved to be the one with the title. No matter what it will take only few more minutes to know the decision of board.

“Ma’am, should we go now?” Martin, Jerika’s assistant asked.

“Sure!!!” Jerika said.

“Are you sure?” Martin asked Jerika when latter was looking too nervous then she needed to be.

“Of course I am Martin... I have been waiting for this moment for so long. Let’s go” Jerika said to Martin. Martin knew her boss very well. He knew that she was worried because of the change I management and that could affect the overall decision although why were there so many changes, that were unknown and it does not matter if it does not affect them.

Jerika went to the meeting room with her assistant Martin and took her place at the meeting table. The round table had most of their members present but they were still waiting for the vital people to make crucial decision.

Soon the deciding board arrived with a familiar face to Jerika. That face was the one Jerika despised the most. She hated everything about him and it was no mystery to others. Why was he here? He had different station to work so what made him come all the way down here? Jerika did not have good feeling about it and especially the man handshaking with the members of deciding body committee, Dr. Antoine Mark. One of the officials stand to made the announcement everybody was waiting for. Jerika could only hope for good things to happen now but something told her that the things will not go according to her plan and everything will be ruined after this announcement.

The announcement was made very formal. A lot of blah... blah... was there and when finally the important thing came, Jerika closed her eyes to be prepared for the thing she had been waiting for so long.

“I happily announced Dr. Antoine Mark to be our new Project Head” the announcer said. Jerika wished that she could break the announcer teeth with which he was smiling after breaking such a bad news for her and she could have done that if she did not planned to stay on the project after the announcement too. The project was still there and she wanted to work on it… she needed to continue to work on it if she wanted to fulfill her goal but here she was still struggling to make her way into the project even after she worked so hard for it.

Everything was finished for Jerika. She did everything she was suppose to do for this job but still she failed in the thing which was the need of her life. All the hard work was ruined. Everybody clapped for the new Project head and Antoine smiled looking around. His gaze stopped when his eyes fall on Jerika. Jerika was already looking at him and the duo stared at each other for some moment and then Antoine lowered his gaze and then smiled to himself.
