The pen drive
Jerika ran inside her house and then inside her room. She opened her cupboard which had a small safe in it. She opened the safe using the code only known to her and there lies a pen drive. She stare at the pen drive intensely and then brought it out as it was time to run away but as she was running to exist, she was startled when she heard a familiar voice.
“What’s that?” Brian said looking at the pen drive which was hold tightly in Jerika’s grip. Brian was sitting in the dark on a chair placed on the extreme corner of the room. Jerika did not notice him before unless he decided to speak and come out in a bit of light. Antoine was brought in an isolated cell after a very long interrogation and questioning. He was drained of all the limited energy he had. He had not got any sleep whole night. The alarm was ringing but Brian was not in the mood to wake up. Suddenly, his phone too started ringing and he picked it up abruptly. Brian tried to say something to the nurse when he felt a strong blow over his head like someone hit him. He tried to turn around but his injuries made him trip and fall on the floor. Jerika went to the celebration hall with Martin and Martin gets busy with his lot. Jerika tried to avoid Antoine as much as she can but when she was alone to grab a drink for herself, he came into her direction. When Jerika noticed that she knew that it was too late to run away and now she has to listen to his stories and to his lies. Jerika left and Antoine was clearly embarrassed by the whole scene created by Jerika. Everybody watched the fight between Jerika and Antoine and everybody was talking, whispering about it. Everyone got the hot topic for the day to discuss and Antoine was clearly embarrassed by everything. He placed his glass on the counter and went to balcony to get some air. His mind was repeating the Jerika’s words again and again. He had no idea what to do and how to solve the differences between Jerika and him. In the midst of his thoughts, Antoine’s phone blinked.
