Meera was trapped, and she hated it, loathed it with every fiber of her being. The anger in her body flowed off her in waves as she watched the Elders of the Sacred Court of Hades surround her, and stood upon the podium as if she was on trial.

How had things gone so damn wrong in the blink of an eye? How had the one thing that stood between Meera and that she-wolf caused such a commotion, and brought chaos to her plans in such a way?

Her mind whirled as she flowers at the faces of the Elders, thinking about what had happened in the past hour.

The battle right at the gate had been fierce and had used up more of her magic reserves than she had ever expected. In fact, it had been one of the worst fights that the witch had been in, in her entire life.
