59. Escape

I lay there waiting as patiently as I can fighting the urge to shift and fight my way out.

I hold out for as long as possible but end up shifting and begin to pace the room impatiently as I wait for Jonathan.

“Embry let’s go, we need to move now, Orin won’t be distracted for long,” Jonathan panics when he comes into the room with blood dripping from one hand, and his shirt is torn.

“What did you do?” I question through the link, while brushing my head against his leg, sniffing the blood on his hand.

“His consort is incapacitated for the moment giving us a small window. If we’re lucky those who are still loyal to me will help hold him back,” Jonathan answers, grabbing a fur cloak after putting on a sword belt.

“He’ll chase us all the way home,” I link, walking to the door ready to get the hell out of this castle that’s become our prison.
