Chapter 2

CAMILA

Walking into the school gently, I glanced around in awe seeing the decorations in the school. It's really a beautiful school. Well what should I expect, it's owned by the Governor after all. I walked towards the principal's office with my map to do the necessary registration.

Looking into the map towards my class, I gasped when I bumped into someone.

"I'm sorry" I apologized immediately.

"Really?" The person sneered and almost immediately, I felt the push making me fall to the ground weakly.

"I'm sorry" I mumbled trying to stand up but the grasp on my hair made me fall weakly to the floor.

"Let go" I whimpered trying to push the hands off but the hand held my hair firmer.

"Please" I begged whimpered as the person pulled on my hair tighter.

"On your knees" the person ordered and I realized it's a girl.

Why's she telling me to go on my knees?

"Let go" I ordered with all courage in me.

The person let go and when I thought I was free, I felt the push making me fall flatly to the ground. What? On my first day? Maybe dad's right. I turned on the floor to see two girls smirking staring at me.

"Stop it" I mumbled trying to stand up but they pushed me with their legs and I sat on the ground weakly. Students gathered around but no one was taking pictures.

"Heyy" one of the girls laughed waving her hands.

"What do you want?" I asked weakly.

One of the girls laughed walking around.

"Samantha? She's asking me what I want, isn't that downgrading?" She laughed bending a little.

"She's just being ignoramus Chloe" the Samantha said and I stared at the Chloe.

Why does her name sound familiar? I tried remembering where I heard the name but I only heard a faint voice. I batted my eyelashes trying to get out of my trance.

"Punishment yet Samantha?" Chloe asked proudly.

"You can't punish me" I said firmly trying to stand up.

"I apologized already, why do you still want to punish me?" I asked standing up.

"Woah" students cheered and I regretted it immediately.

Maybe she's never been confronted for students to be surprised I'm confronting her.

"Bitch" she screamed and I gasped when I felt her hand up.

"Chloe!!!!" A voice yelled and her hand stopped midair.

"What are you doing?" The voice growled coming closer.

I sniffed as the footsteps became clearer and the most beautiful face I've ever seen came to my vision. Him? He looks familiar. Yes, very familiar.

"Doing this this early?" He asked with a smirk.

"Stay out of this Henry!" Chloe gritted, the annoyance and hate vivid on her face.

"Really Chloe?" The guy asked pulling her to him.

"The last time I checked, I have authority than you do" he whispered on her face and she swallowed hard.

"Let go Henry" her trembling voice came up.

"Woah" a student cheered and we heard the sound of a clicking camera.

"This will definitely go a long way in the school chat, Chloe is helpless in someone's hand" the student cheered. Before I could process what's happening, Chloe released herself and the sound went...

It echoed through the space.

The hot slap she gave the student.

"Chloe!" The guy walked over to her immediately.

"Is this what you do?" He asked furiously.

"Stay out of this Henry" she gritted as the girl whimpered holding her cheeks.

"If you don't get out of here, I'd ban you from the school!" the guy said.

Chloe looked up at him in surprise.

"Henry!!" She gritted and the guy smiled.

"Yes baby" he laughed pulling her to him whispering some words in her ear and I saw Chloe shudder.

So, his name is Henry, it sounds a lot familiar to me.

Chloe pulled away from the guy angrily stumping her foot before walking away while Samantha followed her.

"Dismiss!" the guy ordered and students scampered off.

I sighed dusting my clothes and slowly, I picked up my backpack. At the sound of the footsteps, I looked up instantly. Huh? Henry?

"Thanks" I murmured dusting my clothes, trying not to look into his face.

"I didn't save you, I only had to stop her" he said bluntly and I nodded.

"Thank you anyway" I said looking up and for a second, I got lost in his beautiful golden brown eyes. Well, this is the most beautiful eyes I must say. I swallowed hard looking away before I get immersed in his beautiful face.

"Thought you're gonna keep staring" he mumbled with a light scoff and my lips formed into a thin line embarrassed.

"Sorry" I mumbled trying to dust my backpack.

"Hmm" he nodded, his gaze still on me.

"Fansco!" he called and I looked up.

A guard came rushing and I stared at him to the guard.

"Towel" he said and the guard brought out a hand towel.

"Hand it over to her" he ordered and the guard stretched out the towel to me. I collected it slowly.

"Thank you" I mumbled with a smile.

"Hmm, and don't go around looking for trouble" he added before walking away.

Glancing around I saw the girl Chloe hit staring at me.

"Hey" I rushed over to her immediately.

"Are you okay?" I asked as she massaged her cheeks.

"Hmm" she nodded clutching her phone in her hand.

"I'm Camila" I said said cleaning my backpack."I'm Ava" she mumbled and I smiled.

"Who's she?" I asked and she stared at me wide-eyed.

"Are you new?" She asked and I nodded.

"She's the Governor's niece" she answered and I nodded.

Ohh, so much effrontery because of that.

"And the boy?" I asked and she gasped.

"That's Henry, the school's darling, the Governor's son" she said.

"Ohh" I mouthed nodding my head.

Is that why he looked familiar?

"He doesn't attend schools everyday, he only comes once in a while" she added and I nodded.

Thank goodness he came today else I'd have been slapped. But she slapped Ava.

"Why did she slap you?" I asked.

"Because she thought I was picturing her bullying you" she answered.

"And wasn't that what you're doing?" I asked but she shook her head.

"Who said the statement then, wasn't it you?" I asked.

"Of course not, I was snapping my crush" she said unknowingly.

"Your crush?" I asked staring at her.

"Oops" she shut her eyes exhaling.

"Henry is my crush" she said and my mouth formed into an ohh.

Wow.

"He's beautiful, isn't he?" She squealed.

"Hmm, now I have to attend classes" I told her and she nodded.

"What grade?" She asked.

"Get to know" I replied walking away and she squealed following me.

"Maybe it's my grade too" she answered with a smile and I nodded.

Goodness, she talks too much.

We entered the class and I rolled my eyes as we became the center of attraction. I glanced around searching for a seat and I made eye contact with Henry. I gave him a small smile walking to my seat and almost immediately, the teacher entered.

He taught for a while before his gaze rested on me.

"New student?" He asked and I nodded.

"Stand up" he ordered and I stood gently.

"Name" he asked and I swallowed hard trying to ignore the piercing gazes .

"Camila Smith" I answered and Ava gasped behind me.

What was that for? I thought.

"Woah" the teacher smiled motioning for me to sit and I sat down.

"Guess we have another Smith now" he laughed taking his things as he walked out of the class leaving me to wonder what he meant.
