Chapter fifteen: The help

I led mom to her room, tucking her gently into the bed.

“You only need to call me, and ill be here.” I said.

“Faster than your dads omelette?” She teased, in her brittle attempt to make lighter of the situation.

I kissed her cheeks saying. “Faster than dads omelette.”

She closed her weary eyes and soon fell asleep. taking in deep breaths, i pulled myself from her, then shut the door behind me quietly.

If there was anybody i knew i needed to speak with right now, it was Drew.

He was the only person who saw the inevitable coming, but how?

I increased my pace as i hopped down the stairs.

Before regaining my property, finding dad has now become my top priority. I thought articulately.

But for starters, i had no idea where to search first.

I couldn't picture a standard reason why Derrick was doing all this but i knew i couldn't trust him with dads safety either.

And especially when ‘compliance’ only meant he had something more to demand from me.
