Wayne pulls back from the kiss, eyes wide and guilty as he calls her name, “Tori…”
But she only turns and walks right out of the apartment, momentarily unable to weigh everything she had just seen.
On the other hand, Wayne pushes Elena away from him and runs right after Tori, hoping to meet her outside.
Elena watches as he heads outside before wiping her mouth with the back of her palms, her other hand typing on her phone and she raises the phone to her ears to make a call.
“Hello?” A familiar male voice comes over the speakers.
“Hey darling, so my plan just might work. I came over to his house as I told you and she met me here, I smelt her and pulled the idiot in for a kiss. She caught us in it. I am pretty sure they won’t be mates for much longer.”
Wade chuckles audibly over the phone. “Thank you Elena, what would I do without you?”
Elena laughs slyly. “How about you make it up to me?”
“Hm hm… And how would you want me to do that?”
“Are you really asking me that? We could meet up ton…” Elena is rudely interrupted by the opening of the door, it’s hinges slamming against the door and in comes Tori, slightly red in the face. Elena hangs up immediately, hoping that she did not hear the conversation she just had with Wade.
“Big sister…” She starts fakely, wiping the back of her mouth over and over again, almost scrubbing the skin off of it. “I came here to ask him who he was so I could know if he really felt the mate bond towards you but he suddenly said he liked me instead and it was only a way for him to get my attention. He kissed me suddenly, I swear on the moon.” Elena whines, pouting and cleaning her lips after every sentence.
“Really? He came on to you by himself?”
Elena raises her head to nod but before she can, Tori is standing right in front of her and lands her one crisp, reverberating slap. “He came on to you as suddenly as this slap? Or slower than this?” Tori asks, her voice dangerously soft as she watches her ‘little sister’ collapse into the couch behind her, shocked and hand clamping down on her red cheeks.

Wayne stops at the end of the short road, looking around at both ends of opposite roads and as far as his eyes can see, she is nowhere on either grounds.
Where could she possibly have gone in such a short time?
There is a sudden tingling in his head and he is very aware of her surroundings. She is in his living room… How?
He turns back around and races back home, willing with every bone in his body to correct what she had walked into and knowing how terribly misunderstanding such a scene can be, and knowing just ow much scheming Elena can get, he has to correct it, and fast.
By the time he gets right to the front of his house, he hears the sound of a slap. He takes the stairs three at a time and pushes open the door only to see Tori leaning right over Elena who has her hands covering her cheeks, her beet red cheeks. She is obviously the one who got slapped.
Tori barely turns on her shoulders, knowing it is him by the door. “Did you say he came on to you? Let me show you so you can confirm it.” She turns right around and walks over to Wayne, who, unsure of why she’s stalking over to him, takes a cautious step backwards.
But she only grabs both his cheeks, pulls them down to her height ad plants a kiss on his lips.
Wayne is petrified.
Elena gasps softly.
Tori lets huis lips go and goes back to her former height. “He is my mate and I don’t give a damn what he does or what someone claims that he does. Next time, do not visit a man alone, you never know if they are dealing with some personal problems. I should not be the one teaching you these but since your parents failed so elaborately at their jobs, I can’t help it.”
There is a momentary silence in the room before Tori breaks it again.
“You are still here?”
Elena pulls herself up from the chair and runs out of the room with the imaginary tails between her legs.
“Tori, I didn’t…” Wayne starts but Tori shuts him up with her raised palm.
“I know. I’m sorry for kissing you just like that.” She apologizes, unable to meet his eyes.
Wayne stares at her for a hot few seconds before chuckling. “Welcome to my abode. What would you like to have?”
Tori raises her head. “I’m fine. I still have to get back to school in time or they’ll know I skipped.”
School… She had been past all of these youthful and stupid time but now, she has a second chance to redo it all and while she’s thankful for it, it has its disadvantages, like having to follow her ‘father’s’ rules, such as being a role model for the other female wolves in the pack.
“Sure then…”
It is awkward for a few seconds.
“If you don’t mind, can I ask you some questions?” Tori asks while Wayne nods. “How are you related to this pack? I have never seen you around.”
This time in her past life, she knew no one named Wayne Wright but now, there is someone who hadn’t been there that is now present and e has the key to her happiness in his hands. And what’s more pressing is why… Why is he around now? Does he know something? He had also gotten stabbed in the future. Did he get a second chance at life too or is he just a part of her past that has been shifted up?
“My name is Wayne… You know that already. How am I related to all of these? I don’t know. I just woke up and felt the need to be close to you. You are in some danger than not even you knows about just yet, I don’t know what it is either but I just have to be close to you, at least, until you find your true mate.”
Tori frowns. Does he really not know anything? “My true mate? Isn’t it you?”
Wayne looks at her like she has grown two heads all of a sudden. “Me?” He asks rhetorically before laughing for a little bit. “No. I have had my mate and I have lost her.”
This, is new news to Tori.
Is the coin being flipped on her now? She is not his mate? Or more, could she be his second chance mate?
“What do you mean by you’ve had your mate?” Tori inquires, shifting forward in her chair, curious. Was this the same in his future too? How did she not know about that? Her mind momentarily flashes back to that time, the same day she died, she had severed some relationship between them…He had known then but he did not tell her, tried to warn her of something he had either heard or seen but she had been so stubborn and blinded by her supposed love to see the truth right in front of her and she had died… He had, because of her joy, kept the secret of her being his second chance mate from her so it wouldn’t have been like he’s was selfish. She had been the selfish one and it takes the past and the present pain to see it, her hands unconsciously goes to her belly and rests on it without her own conscious knowledge.“Well, I am older than you all, I found my mate when I was eighteen as it ought to be, the moon goddess gives, and the moon goddess takes too, and her taking was very painful

Tori’s gaze snaps to him, her eyes wide with disbelief. The room seems to freeze as everyone processes his words. For Tori, it’s a moment of clarity amidst all the fake facade. She recalls clearly that Wayne wasn’t supposed to be here on this day. In her first life, she hadn’t met him until months after her bonding ceremony with Wade, shortly before the marriage but he had seemed like a sleazeball, always staring at her before the day right before the marriage when he had spoken to her first, but she had walked away angry. Her mind races as the pieces fall into place… the strange dream, the strange woman’s words, the familiarity of events repeating themselves, and the place. Could this truly be her second chance? Her heart swells with gratitude toward the Moon Goddess. Whatever the reason, she’s determined not to waste this opportunity.Tori doesn’t question Wayne’s presence; instead, she seizes the moment. Turning to Wade, she takes a deep breath, her voice steady despite the storm o
Wayne wakes up with a groan. His head is pounding. The light from the bars chandeliers greets him, as well as the scent of stale bear and wood foolish. Across him, his friend Mason sits talking about his upcoming mating ceremony.“Wayne, can you believe it?” Mason says, his tone laced with joy, practically glowing. “One more week and I’ll be tied to my mate. She’s perfect, man. Absolutely perfect.” he squeals.Wayne nods absentmindedly. How did he end up here? He tries to recollect his self, but the last thing he remembers, is nothing. Terrified, he finishes his drink in one gulp, and stands abruptly.“You alright?" Mason frowns, noticing the shift in his friends demeanor. “Come on man, sit." He gestures back to the seat, Wayne was seating on. “You look like you've seen a ghost." Mason chuckles.“Yeah, I just… need some air,” Wayne mutters, rubbing his temples. He walks outside, barely unable to keep his balance. The morning sunlight greets him, causing pain to his eyes. He shields
Tori wakes up with a jolt, her head pounding. Her body feels heavy, like though she has been running endlessly for miles. A faint voice calls out to her, waking her up from her unconscious state. With a sharp shake, she looks around blinking rapidly and finds herself in her bedroom. Her surroundings seems familiar, yet something feels somewhat disorienting about it."Tori?" Elena's voice calls out to her again. She is standing by the window. "Someone’s outside. Whoever it is has been waiting for you for a while now. I just came up here to let you know." She informs Tori.Tori frowns, her gaze still a bit blurry. "Who is it?" she asks. Her voice barely above a whisper. Her throat feels dry and itchy and her limbs feels weak, unable to grasp itself.Elena shrugs, opening the window to let in the light from the morning sun. "I didn’t ask. Just thought you should know." She responds. The rush of cold air makes Tori shiver. As it sweeps across her skin, some memories begin to resurface,
Breathing heavily, a thick smile on her lips and her eyes wide anticipation, Tori drives her car home, unable to wait to share the news with her husband. They have always wanted this bundle of joy and here it is, on its way after five years of being married to one another.“You are two months pregnant, Mrs. Wright.” The doctor had congratulated her just twenty minutes before. She had gone for a test due to her cold and nausea, hoping to get some medicine prescribed but now, she is coming back home with a white slip of paper that explains her condition.Just how much happy would he be to learn that coupled with getting inaugurated as the Pack Alpha in a couple of months, he would be fathering a child as well? Exhilarating. He’d probably kiss her to death and the thoughts of what the future holds for them suddenly does not seem so bleak anymore. It is bright as the end of the tunnel. She stops the car in front of the pack house and exits, choosing to meet her husband first before meetin
