Hospital

"Hurry up, the patient is hemorrhaging! We need blood stat!" I hear the doctors shout in the distance as my mind drifts off. Today was supposed to be a joyful day, I was supposed to celebrate giving birth to my daughter but here am I dying from blood loss. What bullshit.

The sound of the machine flat lining makes me aware that my heart stopped. In other words I'm dead. My soul floats just above my body and I wonder if it's because I didn't get to see or hold my daughter nor did I see my husband, Killian Carter.

I don't know how long I've been staring into space when a baby coo draws my attention. My baby girl, Jordan, in the hands of Vivian Greene, my best friend and a secretary of my husband. What destroyed me more than my death was how my husband was holding her. An embrace I never experienced as his wife. A lovers embrace. He smiled at her the smiles I thought were only reserved for me, his wife. I guess I was never the one he loved after all.

"The baby should not be exposed for a long time, it's best if you go back to the nursery ward." A nurse told them while holding a white cloth that I'm very positive would be used to cover up my body.

Vivian handed over the baby to Killian and whispered something in his ear that made him transform into a sad husband who just lost his wife and was reluctant to leave her. He looked like he was having an internal battle before he kissed her cheek and slowly left with Jordan.

"Ma'am, can you please exit the room. I have a job to do and a body to cover." the nurse said at Vivian.

Almost immediately the tears started. "Can I sit with her for a minute to say goodbye? she was the only friend I had and now she is gone." She sniffed and a few tears fell down her cheeks before she hastily wiped them away.

"Five minutes and then you must be out. If you exceed your time limit, you will dragged out by the security whether willing or not do you understand?" she asked with no emotion.

In a meek voice Vivian thanked her and told her she understood.

The nurse left after looking at Vivian like she is disgusted by her and I wondered what was causing her to react like that.

The moment she realized the nurse left, the tears stopped immediately like a tap being turned off. She sat in a chair that was in the room and held my hand. "You know Kim I should really thank you for meeting Killian. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't have met the love of my life." She smiles as she destroyes me bit by bit. But then again to her she has no audience. "We started sneaking around a few weeks before your wedding and lately I've been telling him how I wish I could be Mrs Carter and you know what he said? After you gave birth he was going to divorce you but then again you dying was a blessing all in its own. When you told Killian you can't have kids naturally, we used my egg instead of yours and that makes Jordan...well it's Jessica now that I am her mother, mine. Thank you for the service your body did for me and my love." She says smugly

"I never liked you at all. you always had everything going for you, a nice childhood, a nice job at your uncle's firm and you married into a wealthy family. When I got close to you in college it was to mooch of you luck and I guess it worked because you are lying there and I'm here gloating. I'm about to be the official Mrs Carter, the one doted on by her husband. Pray that you lose the naivety you have in your next life."

Unfortunately I can't cry in spirit form cause I would be sobbing like my life was in the line. Everything I thought I knew was lies and people I thought we my everything played and betrayed me.

She stood up and turned to leave when she paused like a deer in headlights. I turned to see what made her look like she was about to be killed when I saw Christopher Carter, Killian's brother, on the doorway with a thunderous expression. "How much of that did you hear?" she asks shyly.

"Enough to know that you and my brother are devil's walking among us." he coldly responded

Vivian tried to backtrack but Christopher cut her off, " If I were you I would tuck my tail between my legs before all hell broke loose" he gave her a warning I think?

She ran out the door without looking back. if I wasn't so crushed I would have laughed

Christopher came and sat on the bed next to me and held my hand with a sorrowful look. " I never had the chance to tell you how I delt because you were in a relationship with my brother but now I see how wrong I was and it's too late to do anything now because even if I tell you you will never have the chance to accept or reject it. I vow to destroy everyone involved in making you wear a green hat and destroying your life. They are going to wish they were the ones dead now not you. I hope we meet again in another life and we have a chance to love each other like we both deserve." Never in my life since meeting Christopher have I seen him cry but he is now sobbing like he lost an important piece of him. I guess in a way he did.

It was at that moment that I vowed revenge for all the things done to me. I prayed for another chance at life when I felt my soul finally drifting away.
