Xander's POVI knew dropping the bombshell of my latest decision on Kira like that wouldn't end well. Her eyes bobbed out of their sockets as she stared at me in disbelief. “Why would you not sign it and let him have what is yours?” She inquired, looking confused. I inhaled, holding up her hands. “Listen, Kira….”“No!” She cut in, “you listen! This was the only way to keep Declan away and also help you get everything that is yours. How could you let it go just like that? What are you planning.” “Probably if you listen to me. I might be able to tell you exactly why I did what I did.” I told her. Nodding, Kira shifted away from me and sat up on her own. I suddenly felt exposed because of her action. “Kira, I need you to really calm down and listen to me. This situation is far beyond our comprehension.” Her face fell at that, and she shifted closer to me. “What do you mean?” I finally got her attention. “So, there has been some shady deal ongoing in the company, and it's beyond th
Kira's POVThe blush that crept up my face as I left the pack house heading to Declan's house, was the longest I have ever had. The thought of Xander admitting to missing me was something that I would never dream it happening so soon. I inhaled heavily the moment I parked the car in opposite Declan's house, for an unknown reason, I didn't feel like getting the car too close to the house. Getting down, making my way towards the porch, I ducked the moment my eyes landed on Leila's father and Elizabeth. The two of them were having a heated argument in whispers by the side of the house. Their eyes kept searching around for anyone who might be eavesdropping. Crouching low, I hid between the tall bushy flowers closer to them both. “Why the hell are you in my house, Jesse? I have warned you to not step foot here ever again!” Elizabeth bickered at him. I wasn't certain what I would hear in particular, but I brought my phone out nonetheless. I wouldn't want to regret not doing so later on.
Author's POVLeila fumed as she stomped through the woods, running and panting heavily. This was all messed up from the beginning. She shouldn't have allowed Declan anywhere near Kira yet, if she knew there would be so many downfalls like this. Her intention was to execute her plan in a year or so. But for over three months nothing has been done. Their first attempt was a total failure. It made her lungs tear out more as she tried to outrun her usual speed. There is no way in hell, Leila would spare Kira from all the harm she has in place to unleash on her. Kira has always been in her way, be it intentionally or unintentionally. Leila had stepped out of the house to go see Declan with a lot of enthusiasm. She had woken up with a strong urge to have a long wild sex. But, nothing prepared her for Declan's outright refusal on the claim that he had invited Kira over. Refusing to hear his excuse, Leila had jumped on him, kissing him hungrily. One thing was sure with Declan, he would nev
Xander's POVI felt restless, I haven't had a good sleep like in a long while. I have avoided the house like a plague. At the same time, my actual comfy bed lays in the cabin. I want to avoid making a house out of the bar. The last thing I want Elizabeth to know about me is the only thing my father thought worthwhile to keep for me. The bar and gym are like my first babies, I could really go wild if anyone tries anything funny with them.Standing up from the chair, I stretched out, almost bringing down the office with my loud yell. That felt good, but a run in the woods will feel better. Miguel had gone home earlier than usual, he has a new lady on his timeline that seem to catch his very interest. That reminded me of Leila, we haven't spoked for two days. I have been quite busy, I am surprised she didn't ask me about it. I love how worried and kind of possessive she sounds when I haven't been around her for a while. It brought a smile to my face, Kira is one cute person. Her face
Kira's POVI feel really excited today that I would be seeing Xander. We haven't spoken it what seem like ages. He has been busy, and I haven't had much time in my bid to tend to dad and be more present for my family. Nothing seem to be out of place for the planners of doom at the moment. It's more of everyone living normally as it is. I haven't told Leila about my dad waking up yet. I don't think it's necessary, hoping she wouldn't snoop around and find out. I can't deal with any of her questions on someone not trusting her or whatnot. Parking my car in its usual spot, I made my way to the gym. I had checked with Miguel if Xander was around, to my disappointment he was going to run a bit late. But I saw Carl punching hard at the punching bag. He looked murderous, whomever that punch lands on will feel it to the depth of their souls. “Easy there, tiger. I'm sure they get the message already.” I teasedHe paused for a while, glancing towards me. His eyes immediately switched to tha
Author's POVAriana held her breath as a sharp pain pulled at her chest. She gripped the wall, panting hard. Trying to suppress her groan, she fell to her knees. The pain was becoming more evident and weakening her on a daily. Coming out of the room, Carl's eyes landed on Ariana. Releasing his hand from the doorknob, he ran towards her hurriedly. “Hey, ma. Are you okay?” He asked, kneeling next to her. Ariana pulled at his shirt, steadying her breath. “I'm okay, baby. It's fine.” Carl's eyes glazed as she attempted to stand up,'”you always say that.” He grumbled, holding her to his side. They both walked side by side towards the kitchen. This was becoming their usual routine, since Ariana started experiencing some kind of pain in her chest that she has refused to see a doctor for. Carl has tried to keep a tab on her, doing a little research on what might be wrong. It turned out to be a kind of heart problem some werewolves encounter due to their weak body state. Even though it h
Kira's POVSomething doesn't feel right, and I can tell in my guts. It's more like there is some sort of secret being kept away that I need to pay attention to. The mention of my dad's name in the discussion Jesse was having with Elizabeth the other night. Plagued my thoughts. There should be a back-up story to this, and I need to find out as soon as I can. My mind went directly to meet my mum. She has just finished her usual check up on dad and Amber. And had gone to put her legs up in her room.Heading towards her room with determination in mind, I hope it would yield something worthwhile. Knocking on the door lightly, I heard a soft sound asking me to come in. Opening the door, I walked in with a grin on my face. “Hello there, mum.”“How are you, sweetie. Come on in.” She gestured for me to come sit next to her. Sitting next to her, I leaned into her embrace. She kissed my forehead, holding on to me tightly. “You smell so nice.” I giggled, “thanks mum.” “It's surprising to see
Xander's POVI couldn't stop chuckling to myself at the sight of Kira. Maybe, I didn't make myself clear intentionally just to see what she might do. And my imaginations had piqued right, she was all dressed up with make up that suits her face perfectly. But it has nothing to do with where we are headed. It's hard keeping my laughter at bay, to avoid making her feel bad. Still, it's an intriguing thing to see.Her eyes glazed as she eyeballed me, “Xander, did I just get tricked by you?” I spread out my hands, “I can't say, but you tell me.”Kira glared at me, “this isn't funny.” “How is it my fault right now? I only asked you to get dressed for a ride. Not pull up like a princess, that you literally are. But, come on.” The laughter rumbled out of my throat thus time and I couldn't do anything to stop it. “You know what, you can go on your own. I will return to my room.” She mumbled in anger. Getting my acts together, I sighed, squaring my shoulder. “Whatever it is, you have to te
