Chapter OneKira’s POV"Well, well, well," a tiny feminine voice called out from within the darkness of the forest. My heart beats increased as it began pumping a lot of blood into my arteries due to how close the voice sounded to me. My feet suddenly became cold and I moved my eyes in a circular motion around the length of the environs to see what it was that called out to me. All I could see was darkness. Terrifying darkness that pierced into my soul. The light coming from the moon was not even that bright either as it was not a full moon. My ever-vibrant wolf, Ayla, became mute. The dry leaves on the soil rustled noisily the moment I took a step backwards, initially scaring me."Don't move!" the voice called out to me again, but this time in a commandeering tone of voice . Her voice sounded so fierce that it made me shiver momentarily. My sharp ears were able to pick up the squeaks from the rats in the forest. I could also smell a body.'Human? A dead body?' Different questions

Declan wrapped his hands around Leila's waist and I couldn't feel my body. The continuous pounding of my heart refused to stop. It was as if my heart was about to explode without me knowing."Declan was never yours. Cut off all these drama," Leila snapped. “You’re only finding out now because you were too naive to see in the first place.” My heart throbbed painfully in my chest as they literally groped the other. This is torture. I could see it now. All these while I didn't see it. Or maybe I did and just didn't read meaning into it because I never thought my best friend, the one I took as my sister would stab me in the back this way. The hurt was too much.I drifted my eyes away from them as tears rolled down my cheeks. I couldn't believe Leila could do this t

KIRA'S POVIt shouldn't happen, not again, not this time that I feel I can make things different. It shouldn't happen please! I bit hard on my nails and gnarled, rushing after my mom.She started to search for her phone as soon as she got into the room, clearing out her dresser in haste not minding if anything got destroyed in the process. "Mom.." I called in fear, "let me call him–""He won't answer it, he's enough that he's mad at you" she ripposted, throwing her hands everywhere in search of her phone. "I can't find it, where did I keep it?"My eyes were filled with tears and were so blurry that I couldn't see clearly. I fluttered my eyes at her as soon as an idea occurred to me."Let me call your phone so we know where it is," I didn't know why I didn't think about this. She nodded her head continuously and stared at me interestedly, I brought out my phone from my purse which I had with me, clicked on the dial and we listened with rapt attention to capture where the sound would c

Kira's POVMy body ached as I tried to move, I blinked several times to get a hang of my sight. The whole room blurred my vision. My throat dry and itchy as I tried to swallow. It took me a long while to finally hold down a memory of what had happened to me. I jerked up hurriedly, feeling a electric string of pain shoot through my entire body."Move with caution." Ayla warnedI hissed ignoring her; where in the world is everyone? I was the only one in the white painted room, which is obviously an infirmary. If I am in the infirmary ward, then my dad and Amber are definitely around somewhere. The moment my legs touched the ground, one would think it was an alarm that had alerted everyone around. "Hold still please, how are you feeling?" The doctor inquired.I tried to shake my aching head slowly, "yes, I am fine. Where is my dad and my sister?" I inquired."I need to ensure you are fine first, let me run a quick check on you." He insisted.Whoever this doctor is, he is really getting

Kira's POVWith the way I jumped off the bed, the possibility of a sprained ankle can't be ignored. But I care less about myself at this point. I ran along with the doctor and nurse as they entered the ward my dad and sister laid in. Dad was gasping for breath when the doctor got to him, the machine beeped like it would run out of power. My heart raced as I could almost see my soul leaving the confines of my body. "Please goddess, don't let my father die!" I murmured to myself countless times. The doctor kept asking the nurse for different things that I can't seem to name. He had asked for us to leave the space to enable him focus, I wouldn't have left if mum hadn't dragged me with every might she possessed. "Get a grip on yourself Kira, he is fine now." Mum mumbled into my hair, pulling me into her embrace. I didn't even realize when I had slipped onto the floor crying hysterically. How awful would it sound that I had come back all for nothing, unable to save my family. "He is
