LORIA'S POV

I could say my entrance into the Aurelian pack house had a satisfying aura because each step I took left eyes on me.

The gates opened, the guards looked at my papers, then at my face and back at each other.

No one stopped me because they probably thought I was here for surrogacy but I left the impression of… Why would a rich lady want to be a surrogate?

Two servants at the fountain side stopped talking when they saw me.

“Another one,” the first girl whispered.

“She looks too fine and rich for real,” the second said. “He will send her home like the others… i feel pity for a lady with such aura to leave just like that.”

“They all think they will be chosen pathetic.”

“I would not want to go home disappointed with a face like that.”

I heard every word and did not turn my head.

Let them talk… it gave me joy anyways because they'll all be disappointed. Varex could never reject me.. I was almost sure of it.

Just as I crossed the hall, I sighted Clara… his new barren wife I thought almost laughing out.

She was stepping down from the staircase with a phone in her ear.

I slowed my pace till she was down and just as we crossed paths, I bumped into her purposely and in a hard manner which made her gasp and stumble.

“Watch it,” she snapped, still on the call. “Do you know who I am?”

I looked at her the way a stranger looks at a problem but I didn't say sorry.

Behind me I heard her voice rise.

“No, I am fine. Some woman just bumped me, these worthless surrogate girls have no manners.”

I smiled without showing it… At least I wasn't barren.

The council room was at the end of the west hall, but to avoid suspension I asked a guard to take me to the room.

I pushed them open without knocking, dismissing the guard who looked at me in shock.

The talking inside stopped immediately they heard the door open and all heads turned to me.

I smiled in satisfaction but it slowly turned to irritation after I saw Varex who sat at the head like he wasn't facing any problems in his life… or maybe he wasn't at the moment but it's just temporary.

Next to him was an empty chair and I guessed it was for the whore he married…. The lady he thought was better than me? Pathetic.

I walked to the table and dropped my bag on the wood…The sound was loud on purpose.

One elder frowned.

“Young lady, this is not how we…”

“I did not come here to learn manners from men who still keep a wicked man as alpha,” I said.

The room went still and Varex lifted his eyes.

“ Excuse me ?.” Another said but I just smiled.

“ Don't blame me? Calm looking men tend to be wicked though… I'm speaking out of experience.” I winked and smiled, sitting without their order to.

I could already tell that they hate me and I liked it. I don't need love from such a place.

“I came as a surrogate for Alpha Varex.”

An old man near the end of the table laughed once.

“You and twenty others this week.. you're leaving trust me.”

“Then you should get used to my sight sir,” I said, keeping a smiling face.

Another elder leaned forward.

“You will not get the place. He has rejected every woman who walked through that door… and you just look like trouble, you don't look like you need this for money.”

“Money isn't the only reason women go for surrogacy. I tend to love children and would be delighted to carry the heir of the Aurelian pack.” I said looking at Varex who kept a blank face.

“ Leave now! I wouldn't want a lady who brings trouble and acts so highly of herself as my surrogate.”

I blinked in shock before laughter followed.

VAREX’S POV

I rejected her knowing I didn't want such trouble in my pack house but for some reason my wolf fought with me like I made the worse decision of my life.

I tried to keep a mean face but deep down my wolf was battling with me like if felt some kind of familiar bond.. like it recorgnized her but couldn't pin down what or who she was.

I stood up with a heavy head as an effect from my wolf.

“ I'll be back.” I said heading into the bathroom.

I tried to clear my head with so many thoughts but none of them worked.

I immediately knew what my wolf wanted and what I want more than anything now is a clear head till my time was up.

I stepped out of the bathroom, back on my chair to observe everyone was still looking at me like I would say something else.

And then the words left my lips.

“She stays,”

Immediately the words left my lips, my wolf settled and I stared at her who looked at me with a weird satisfaction.

Who was she and why did my wolf react this way?.

The table went silent.

Elder Rowan stared at me.

“Alpha, but you just rejected her now…”

“She gets the place and that's final.”

No one moved, knowing I had the habit of speaking and keeping to my words wether good or bad.

“ She made a point when she said not all surrogates come because of money, so you all have to kill that impression of surrogacy.”

I pushed the papers toward her. “Read the terms. If you cannot follow them, walk out now.”

She picked up the first page like she had all the time in the world.

I watched her lips while she read.. only to realize I wasn't really in control of myself at the moment.

I immediately fixed myself, knowing I'll have to keep my distance from her after the process concludes.

“I agree to the stay in the mansion,” she said. “I agree to the medical checks, I agree to the money even though I won't end up using it and I agree to the rules about leaving the grounds without notice.”

Then she looked up with her brows risen.

“ But I do not agree to your bed.”

Someone gasped and I looked her her, understanding by now that she was an intelligent type and definitely had something to say as a backup.

“That is not how this is done. An heir from the alpha must…” someone said but was cutted by her.

“I am a surrogate,” she said. “Not a mistress… I do not lay with the men who hires me.. if I were to do that, then I'm nothing but a legal slut that makes babies. The fertilization will be done outside this house, In a hospital in an external and Professional way. Well-known for the name UNTOUCHABLE SURROGATE.”

Every head turned to me immediately expecting me to say something.

But my wolf was ready to protest if I disagree.

“Fine,” I said and the room broke into whispers.

“It is only professional that way,” I added. “We do it at the hospital.”

She smiled and picked up her bag knowing the meeting was definitely over.

“ You are all dismissed and she should be treated with respect.”

Everyone left the room whispering to themselves.

I stood up, pouring myself a glass of whiskey.

At the moment this so called Untouchable surrogate wasn't my problem.

I was happy with the fact that I finally got a woman to carry my child even if it means not touching her.. deep down I didn't want to because I definitely didn't understand what she was doing with my wolf.

I had limited time left… less than 90 days and I had to get an heir to my empire and throne before the time elaps.
