ANMELDENMireya’s POV “Are you nervous?” I asked Azrael when I finished fixing his collar. I have no idea what kind of competition King Victor has in mind, but in the past, he has only tested Caius' intelligence. His strength was never tested, since King Victor believed that a leader who knows how to rule is better than a leader who only possesses physical strength. But maybe he should change his mind. I think Azrael would stand a chance in physical battle. With proper training, I know he can beat Caius. “Are you saying I’m dumb?” My brows instantly knotted. He’s at it again. Reading my mind without any permission. “I already warned you not to read my mind right?” He scoffed. “Whoa! Why are you more offended, Mireya? You just call me dumb in your head,” “And I didn’t say it out loud,” I defended. “I didn’t mean to offend you. I was just saying the truth. Caius is properly educated and you are deprived of education because they locked you up!” “But that doesn’t mean I’m dumb,”
Mireya’s POV “Where have you been?” Azrael greeted the moment I entered the infirmary. He was sitting on his bed, brows furrowed, and jaw tightly clenched. I made my way towards him, and a smile spread across my face. “I have some good news for you!” I said, my tone high-pitched from excitement. I stood in front of Azrael while he sat on the bed, looking all serious. If this were a normal situation, I would probably have been annoyed seeing him look at me that way. Why does he look mad? I should be the one getting mad. He left the infirmary without even informing anyone of his whereabouts, and now he will come back as if he’s the one who should be mad. “I made a deal with King Victor and Caius,” I continued, ignoring his sharp stare. “You can compete for the crown. King Victor will give you the chance to prove yourself worthy of becoming the next Alpha King but if you fail, then I’ll be marrying, Caius—“ “Did I agree on that?” My brows furrowed. What is he saying? It
Mireya’s POV I shook my head and took a step back. I am done pleasing you, Mom! I am done doing everything you want just to make you happy even if it costs me pain. I am done being a fool and doing everything you told me. This time I refuse to be a tool you will use just to keep the status that you have. “I won’t marry, Caius. I will never marry, Caius,” I firmly said. My mother’s smile slowly vanished. Her brows furrowed, almost touching each other. “What did you just say, Mireya?” If it were the old Mireya, I would have probably begged for forgiveness already. I wouldn’t even hesitate to kneel before my mother but that old Mireya was gone. “I don’t want to marry, Caius. I will never marry Caius!” I repeated, emphasizing every word so she could hear it clearly. I watched how rage slowly burned her eyes. Her breathing grew heavy and her jaw was tightly clenched. She raised her hand attempting to slap me but I was quick to catch her wrist and throw her hand. “Are yo
Mireya’s POV I froze in place. I can feel my heart slamming against my chest. What is he doing? Why is he hugging me? I tried to remove his arms but Azrael’s hold tightened. “You’ll go to him?” I let out a nervous laugh and shook my head. “N-No. I-I’ll stay h-here. Y-You can let g-go now,” I want to slap myself for stuttering too much. I am so affected by his hug. He was just hugging me and here I am acting like a complete idiot. I tried to remove his hold again and this time, it finally loosened. I turned to see his face which I immediately regretted. Our faces were now a few inches away from each other. My head was tilted so I could meet his gaze and I could feel his hot breath brushing my face. I tried to gather my thoughts but my mind went blank. I couldn’t think. I couldn’t say anything! “I won’t act recklessly again,” Azrael spoke, his voice was too gentle, as if he was trying to soothe me. “I won’t start a fight and put you in trouble,” “O-Okay,” I let out
Mireya’s POV“You’ve been quiet, Lady Mireya,” I was pulled back to reality when Aurelia spoke. I looked at her eyes and forced a smile. “Are you worried about your mate? Don’t worry his wounds will heal fast. His wolf is strong and in a few days he will be back to normal again,” I glanced at Azrael who was peacefully lying on the bed. The moment we reached the palace he was sent to the infirmary. Aurelia cleaned his wound and thankfully he was given a proper treatment before things got worse. “Do you believe that a werewolf can be reborn?” I asked out of nowhere. Aurelia’s brows furrowed. Confusion instantly filled her eyes. I probably sound like a lunatic but I was desperate for answers. I know the reason why I was reborn. I made a deal with Azrael and using his forbidden black magic I was given a chance to rewrite my fate. What puzzles me is the fact that Caius was reborn too. What did he do? Did he strike a deal with someone too? “Being reborn is a myth, Lady Mi
Mireya’s POVCaius made his way towards me but before he could get close, Alpha Dante’s men blocked his way.Their claws dripped with blood and the thirst to kill was evident in their eyes. I have no idea why Caius is here. Is he aware that Alpha Dante took us? Did he come here to save me? But I doubt he would do that. He didn’t even lift a finger just to save our child and me. “I don’t think this is the proper way to welcome your future Alpha King, Alpha Dante,” he spoke, his voice calm and without any hint of fear. Alpha Dante looked at his pack and without any command uttered, they stepped back and gave way to their Alpha. “What brought you here, Alpha Caius?” he asked, a taunting smile playing on his lips. “Are you here to claim your whore?” Caius glanced at me then turned to Alpha Dante. “Careful with your words, Alpha Dante. That’s not the way you should address your future Queen,” Alpha Dante laughed. He wasn’t a rouge but he never let his pack get tied to the Kingd
MIireya's POVHe was foolish. He was reckless...but why do I feel safe now that he is around? "What are you doing?! Kill him!" Caius shouted, holding his bleeding neck. My hold on Azrael's hand tightened. We will die! They won't spare us. I just got reborn. Don't tell me I wouldn't even last a
Mireya's POVThe beating of my heart turned erratic. I can feel cold sweat coming out of my palm. "I…I got lost," I reasoned out and faked a laugh. “I thought the Grand Council Hall was this way," His brows furrowed as he stared. Fear traveled to my chest but I still forced a smile, standing
Mireya's POV I was easy to let go. I have long accepted that. All my life I needed to prove that I am useful so I wouldn’t end up being thrown. When I married Caius I imprinted inside my head that I have to be someone useful to him. I need to fill the void Blaire had left and now that she’s back
Mireya's POV "Congratulations Luna Mireya! You are three weeks pregnant!" The beating of my heart stopped. My vision started to blur as tears pooled in my eyes. I wanted to speak but words failed to come out. My gaze remained glued on Aurelia, the Royal Obstetrician. Am I really pregnant?
