LOGINMireya’s POV “Let me pass,” I told him. Azrael remains standing at the door. He was staring at me like he was mad at something…or at me. “I have to go, Azrael,” I said, my voice much firmer this time. He was quiet. I was about to speak again when he drew a deep breath and widened the opening of the door, giving me enough space to pass through. All of a sudden my feet feel heavy. I wanted to leave a few seconds ago the moment I saw him but now that he was letting me leave my feet felt glued to the floor. Even though my body wanted to stay, I forced myself to step out of the room. He didn’t give me a chance to step back in; he immediately closed the door leaving me standing outside. I wonder why he went here. Is he sick? Even though I am curious, I still choose to leave and head straight to the dining hall. Caius was already there and thankfully Blaire wasn’t around. I want to eat a proper meal and I know I can’t do that if she were sitting across from me. “What ha
Mireya’s POV Days passed but Caius didn’t notice anything suspicious in Elder Marcellus. According to him his routine was the same. He will stand beside King Victor’s throne while the Royal Council discusses the crisis the kingdom faces. He will give his advice and once the meeting is done he will stay in King Victor’s chamber to strategize a plan. Nothing unusual. Same routine. Or maybe he was just careful. I didn’t even notice that he was planning something with Azrael. Out of all the members of the Royal Council, he was the one who held a firm belief that Azrael shouldn’t be recognized by King Victor. Was it just a front so whatever they were planning wouldn’t be discovered? A knock on the door pulled me back to reality. After a few seconds it was followed by Aurelia’s gentle call, “Mireya are you in there?” I hid my diary at the lowest part of my drawer and walked towards the door. Before pulling it open I wore a smile. I don’t want Aurelia to see that I am deal
Mireya’s POV My lips stretched in a thin line. ‘Help me think, Mira. Do something.’ Just like what she always does, she ignored me again, leaving me alone in facing Azrael’s interrogation. What should I tell him? Should I lie and tell him I have no idea what he’s talking about? That maybe the ring rolls on its own without my knowledge? Would he believe me if I said that? Or should I just admit that I snuck into his room last night? But if I do that then he might suspect that I heard the conversation he had with Elder Marcellus. “It was me,” My head snapped towards the direction of the voice. A few meters away from us was Caius, walking towards us. Why did he come back? When he got close, he immediately wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close to him. He smiled but when his head turned to Azrael his smile faded. “I went to your room last night,” he said, his face devoid of any emotion. “I was keeping that ring in my pocket since Mireya asked me
Mireya’s POVI forced a laugh and looked around trying to find an excuse and when I didn’t find anything I could use as an alibi, I looked back at Elder Marcellus. “I-I went to the garden to get some fresh air,” He didn’t respond. Is he not buying it? Should I think of something else? I was about to say another word when he spoke, “Take care of yourself, Mireya. Blood moon is coming,” After saying those words, he walked away, leaving me dumbfounded. Was it just about the wedding or does he mean something else? Overnight all I did was overthink the meaning behind Elder Marcellus words. I have a feeling that it wasn’t just about the wedding especially when I heard that he and Azrael were planning something. Should I confront Azrael? But if I do that will he even tell me the truth? I want to trust Azrael. I want to prove to everyone that they are wrong about him but how can I do that when I can no longer trust him too? How can I do that when he was giving me reasons t
Mireya’s POV I immediately covered my mouth. Why is he talking to Elder Marcellus? What plan are they talking about? What exactly are you hiding, Azrael? After Azrael said those words, the surroundings fell into complete silence and after a few seconds I heard retreating footsteps. Was that really, Elder Marcellus? How is he connected to Azrael? When I heard the sound of the shutting door, I squeezed my body even more into the corner. Azrael shouldn’t see me here. What if my scent lingered? What if she discovered that I am hiding under his bed? ‘I concealed our scent,’ my wolf uttered. ‘Do I really have to put myself in danger to have you talk to me?’ She didn’t respond. There she goes again. If I can choose a wolf in my next life I would never choose her. ‘What’s your name?’ ‘Mira,’ she shortly responded. Mira. At least she gave me her name. ‘Why can’t we shift, Mira?’ Mira didn’t respond. I was about to scold her again but after a few minutes of silenc
Mireya’s POV Aurelia’s words had been bugging me for days. I still can’t bring myself to believe her. I know she wasn’t the only one who warned me about Azrael, I had been warned by Elder Vitus too, but I couldn’t bring myself to believe any of them. Azrael is not a monster. He’s not the man they claim he is. “Did you hear anything that I said, Mireya?” I was pulled back to my senses when my mother spoke. I almost forgot that I was having tea with her. “What did you say, Mom?” I asked, trying to sound interested in whatever she said. “I said I overheard Blaire and Edward talking about the date of the wedding. Edward said it will be held once the full moon appears in the night sky and based on his calculation it might be a month from now,” “And?” I asked, clearly not interested in anything else. “And that means you should start preparing yourself. From now on you should watch what you eat. Look at you,” she looked at me from head to toe. “You are gaining weight, Mi
Mireya's POV I was easy to let go. I have long accepted that. All my life I needed to prove that I am useful so I wouldn’t end up being thrown. When I married Caius I imprinted inside my head that I have to be someone useful to him. I need to fill the void Blaire had left and now that she’s back
Mireya's POV "Congratulations Luna Mireya! You are three weeks pregnant!" The beating of my heart stopped. My vision started to blur as tears pooled in my eyes. I wanted to speak but words failed to come out. My gaze remained glued on Aurelia, the Royal Obstetrician. Am I really pregnant?
MIireya's POVHe was foolish. He was reckless...but why do I feel safe now that he is around? "What are you doing?! Kill him!" Caius shouted, holding his bleeding neck. My hold on Azrael's hand tightened. We will die! They won't spare us. I just got reborn. Don't tell me I wouldn't even last a
Mireya's POVThe beating of my heart turned erratic. I can feel cold sweat coming out of my palm. "I…I got lost," I reasoned out and faked a laugh. “I thought the Grand Council Hall was this way," His brows furrowed as he stared. Fear traveled to my chest but I still forced a smile, standing
