Chapter 5. A Party

Jake asked in half doubt, and Catherine was afraid that her friend would not believe her, so she nodded her head. Harris simply stepped back and silently looked at her, the corner of his lips could not help but raise a very light smile.

Jake stared at his best friend, received the answer then looked around to confirm again. Then he knew that he was indeed not allowed, retracted his aggressive expression just now, and honestly scratched his head and said:

"Sorry Sir. Please forgive me for my rudeness, I thought wrongly of you."

"No problem. I'm just disgruntled as well. And, please don’t call me sir. Just Harris anyway.”

Damn! His voice is so sexy. It melted her like butter.

Catherine lowered her head, secretly looking at him straight and tall in front of her eyes. Her mood was no different from a princess dreaming about her lover. Indeed, the visions of two “Harris” were still the same, tough and cold, but deep inside, still a gentle and wholehearted man when in love. In her previous life, because she had been crazy in love with Billy, she couldn't remember many shape of him, even if it was only a small picture of the first meeting between them two. Going back to her life, God let her see him again, she definitely wouldn't let this man escape.

Harris silently listened to Jake's ramblings, suddenly caught sight of her large, sparkling eyes secretly watching him, and then burst out laughing. He looked back at her, and this timid rabbit quickly lowered her eyes, turned away with her long slender legs moving on the ground and her red ears denouncing her feelings.

For some reason, he had a special impression of her ears. They look so cute, pink and plump. Can it be even redder to his touch?

Harris scolded himself, feeling lucky because his cold face helped him hide an unnecessary part of his mind. He cleared his throat, raised a hand towards Jake and said:

"I'm Chrisptopher Harris Borrison.  I hope to see you again, if any."

"Oh my God. You are the new master of the Borrison family, my grandpa has talked alot about you!”

Jake cried out in excitement. Catherine could feel the admiration of her best friend clearly. Jake hurriedly shook his hand and said back:

“I'm Jake Everton, this is my business card. If there is any opportunity, I'm ready to help with anything you ask for."

Harris stiffly handed his business card to Jake, made a very standard greeting, and turned away. Catherine now raised her head a bit and stared at him in amazement. It was not until her best friend called her up to get in the car, Catherine finally got her mind back.

Sitting in the car, she still remembered his eyes. His warm voice. Even his tall, strong and handsome face. She remembered how he loved her and sacrificed for her, but in her previous life she was too stupid and childish to chase up someone who did not value her.

Harris had pursued her for seven years, his love was quiet and caring, not as vibrant and colorful in a toxic way as Billy. She carelessly considered him as a big brother, impartially accepting love without ever turning her head to look at him. She was stupid, did not understand everything, only knew how to pursue empty glamor. And he never asked her in return. Until she was empty-handed, only Harris helped her. The eldest brother went crazy, he took care of her brother to get to the best hospital, her mother and father were killed, only he stood out to take care of the funeral. She was like a vase of flowers sitting there, wilted and lifeless.

Harris. Harris…

Catherine whispered his name with tender affection to the heart. In this life, I will pay you all.

Jake took her to lunch and then both returned home. Catherine, even though wanted to get Harris's business card so badly, still calmly tried to hold back. Anyway, she still had many opportunities. She must have waited. Right.

When she returned to the Tuner family's mansion, she seemed to run out of energy. Everything this morning was too hard to cover and she needed to rest and make up her mind clearly. She quickly ran to her room, lay down on the bed and rested. There were hundreds of questions running around in her head.

When did Billy and Anna make up with each other?

Why did she not recognize?

Too confused, she was determined to take revenge, but she couldn’t figure out where to start at the moment. But now those two had nothing. No clue and no signal.

Thinking of this, she lifted her spirits and decided to take a rest to complete her mission tonight. In her previous life, at her cousin’s party, she carried the name of a portable flower vase, jealous of the bride, shamelessly pursuing men. Catherine couldn't help but lament when she recalled that her brain was flooded at that time, absolutely unacceptable.

In her restless sleep, she dreamily recalled the story of her previous life, and couldn't help but curse.

"Cate! Little Cate! Wake up!"

Anna, this greedy woman! Catherine frowned, what else did she call her? Why did she just disturb her in her dream like a ghost?

"Wake up Cate!"

"Shut up, bitch!"

Catherine was enraged, her eyes still closed but she  suddenly slammed forward, hitting the side of Anna's face and causing her to almost fall to the side. Then, her screams of pain made Catherine wake up immediately.

"Anna?"

She rolled her eyes, gritted her teeth, and almost lost control of her anger to pull her hair and hit her badly. But now Anna was just a seventeen-year-old girl. She still has not done anything bad to her. Thinking of that, Catherine tried to close her eyes to meditate. Life didn’t pay wages, so there's no need to act, but for this role of naive girl, she still had to do it whether she wanted to or not.

For a moment, she changed her attitude, hurriedly asked Anna. Catherine affectionately hugging her hand and asked in a soft voice:

"Oh my god Anna dear. Does it hurt? I was too careless."

"It's okay, I just went into your room by myself and it is my fault."

Anna quickly smiled and made peace. To be fair, Anna was also beautiful and somewhat more clever and astute than Catherine. Almond eyes, sexy lips with short hair, it was not strange when Billy fell in love with her.

Catherine sat up, got out of bed and went to the large wardrobes against the wall. Her room was decorated in the style of a princess, on top of which is a sparkling chandelier, a row of wardrobes and dozens of cosmetic accessories of all kinds. Branded and branded goods, Anna looked at it hundreds of times and still felt jealous and couldn’t help but curse Catherine silently.

Catherine knew that Anna was in a jealous mood. How could she have closed her eyes to treat her like a soul-mate?. Now that she woke up, she could clearly see her best-friend’s true side of face.

Then, she took out dozens of dresses, put them on her body and asked Anna in an innocent voice:

"Is it beautiful? Jake thinks it's expensive to buy it regardless of whether it fits or not. But I still like it."

Anna smiled innocently and enthusiastically complimented her on being beautiful, neither of them gave any opinion, just a general roundabout. Tired of talking, she came up with an idea in her mind and chuckled, rummaging through the pile of clothes and hugging Anna, pretending to be sweet:

"As expected, Le Le suits this outfit. At tonight’s party, if you wear this, every man shall be crazy. Just like an angel."

Hearing her flattery, Anna’s face blushed like a naive girl, and she immediately hugged the dress she had dreamed of for a long time. Sure enough, this young lady was still easy to seduce, without wasting her effort to welcome behind the fawning bow.

Catherine pursed her lips very slightly, if she wanted to take revenge, then she would push them two together as soon enough. She knew the taste of Billy, now or in the future, this style of dress and this face of Anna will still catch his eye. Pushing Anna into the changing room, then she opened the door to welcome the team of makeup and hairdressers in.

The party should start in a few hours. She needed to be quick but honestly, Catherine didn’t care. She still thought about Harris and felt uncomfortable with the large party like that. Somehow, it could be her trauma from the last life, maybe.

Sitting in front of a large mirror, she asked the makeup artist to just make it light and not excessive. A life of being ridiculed was more than enough, she needed to build an image of a fair and beautiful lady, not an ugly doll to act ridiculous around.

At this moment, Anna stepped out, looked at herself in the mirror and couldn't help but envy the beauty of Catherine when it was meticulously made up. In the mirror, there was a young girl's face as fresh as a peach. Her white skin covered with powder that sparkled like pearls. Those cheeks were flushed orange, her lips are light red lip gloss and the long eyelashes were curled without needing to stick fake eyelashes. Catherine was like a peach fairy with a dreamy, innocent beauty that evokes the psychology of wanting to protect and pamper others.

This was also the beauty that Anna is most jealous of.

Catherine was satisfied looking at herself in the mirror, exclaiming that these days the social network was not popular, only a simple blog and no selfie phone.

She said nonchalantly:

"You guys should do her hair and makeup too. Please be careful and it needs to match that dress."

"Yes, Lady Turner."

Then she put on her newly bought dress, which had been laundered, and smelled of flowers. The emerald green dress spread below like petals, covered with a layer of thin chiffon like dew. She also put on a special cream-colored vest that she playfully stole from her brother's closet. Long light blond hair is lightly curled, falling on the shoulders like water waves. The braided hair on the head is pinned with a sparkling sapphire crystal hairpin. At this time, she was like a mischievous fairy, both innocent and full of life.

She walked out of the room, smiled and twirled around to show her brother.

William Evan Turner - the young master of the Turner house had prepared well with black tux, white gloves. His curly blond hair had been ironed with hair wax that made his handsome face look like a greek god statue.

William cupped his little sister’s head and said:

"You mischievous little brat, who let you use my dress?"

"This is fashion, fashion. Can't you just compliment me?"

She pouted her lips. End of the way, living a life she also shrank back to the age of seventeen in her soul. Who told you to pamper her so much?

William couldn’t help but shook his head helplessly, taking his sister's arm and said back:

"Then my sister is the most beautiful. Beautiful like a fairy, even a brightless angel almost jealous of you."

"Haha!"

Her parents came from afar and laughed happily. Catherine's eyes were as bright as stars, striding towards her parents' lap.

Her mother laughed lovingly, stroked her cheek, and scolded love:

"My dear baby, what are you crying about? Your beautifull face just got all dirty."

She stared blankly at her parents, her eyes red as if she wanted to cry. Seeing her parents again, she couldn't help but feel the urge to cry. But she was determined to use all her strength to suppress her feelings of disappointment, to be playful and smile to please.

The whole family of four creates a picture of happiness, brightening up the whole mansion.

Catherine snorted, stopping the tears of happiness from overflowing.

Being alive is really good.

Thank God.
