Willow

Why are they fighting? I’ve been gone for five minutes?

Theo must have started this wolf fight. It’s so horrifying to watch the glass shatter. Even more so when Theo’s wolf sends Aiden’s flying out the open space.

A loud thud follows.

What was once a calculative networking event is now in utter chaos. Everyone is gathered in front of the broken window, watching the fight. I step forward, trying to get past the sea of bodies but Vincent stops me.

“No,” he grabs my arm. “It’s too dangerous

WillowMy meeting with Laura goes exactly as I’d predicted. She takes me to the orphanage site. Shows me around. Introduces me to the crew as a very special friend. The whole time, she’s asking my input, making inquiries about my childhood. “Did you have your own bedroom?” She asks, linking our arms together. “It’s an orphanage, Laura.” I snort, smiling gently. “Having individual bedrooms sounds ridiculous for a project that aims as getting as many pups off the streets as possible. Growing up, the rooms were usually packed full. Think eight girls to a bedroom. The bunks were pretty small and the older we grew, the more awkward it got to fit our feet into our beds.”I smile at the memory. Laura doesn’t find it amusing though. She stops walking, proceeds to give me a hug. “Oh honey,” she cooes in my ear. “I can’t imagine how bad it must have been for you to grow up under those circumstances.”“It wasn’t all bad.” I pull away from the hug. “There were also good moments.”I don’t elab

AidenThe royal palace isn’t any different from what I’ve seen on T.V.A castle with red carpets rolled out for visiting guests. And that’s one of the things that makes the palace so revered. To visit, you’d have to be sent an invitation. The lycan king is unable to make time for just anyone. Spencer’s exact words. Which is why those invited to meet with him have to treat it as the greatest honour. King Lucien Dimitri doesn’t look a day older than thirty. No surprise there. Lycans tend to outlive regular werewolves. Back in high school, we’d studied the history of the lycan king during history class. According to the books, he was born three hundred years ago. Had fought in so many wars, against so many foes. Eventually settled down and built our lycan city from the ground up. Of course he had founding families, like the Thompsons, to help build and uphold his legacy. That’s one of the reasons why the Thompsons are so revered. Aside from being filthy rich, their connections to the l

TheoShe’s here.I can feel her presence in my living room. As I turn the door knob, I’m trying to fight the urge to just kick the door in.I enter my apartment and sure enough, Darla is standing in the middle of my living room, hands propped on her hips.I shut the door with a bang and storm towards her. “What the fuck did I say about showing up here without informing me?”She’s not scared of me. Not in the slightest. Infact, she matches my glare with an even more intense look. “Did you kill the hockey player?”“What? No.” I scowl deeper. “Is that what you came here to ask me? I told you before and I’ll say it again, you have no right to break into my space. The next time you do, I won’t be so nice.”“You must have had someone do it,” she insists, holding my scalding gaze. “Who was it? And why? Is this about Aiden? Was this your way of unnerving him?”“Fine,” I seethe, clenching my fists at my sides. “I killed the idiot. But don’t worry. I didn’t do it myself. I had someone else do i

Aiden“I know you’re still very suspicious of me,” Theo holds his hand out. “Father was right. We need to put our issues aside, if we’re going to work together effectively.”He must have overheard my conversation with Spencer. That must be why he’s saying this.I don’t shake his outstretched hand. I just continue to observe him wordlessly. Theo sees I’m not going to shake his hand and puts it away. He rounds the table to stand in front of me. “Think about it, brother. What else could I possibly do to take away what you’ve got now? I was at today’s meeting. I saw how everyone regarded you. You’re the successor. Everyone seems to thinks so. You’re safe. You can relax. I have no ill intentions towards you.”“I see you’re still hellbent on keeping this act up, even though I can see right through it.” I sigh, shaking my head at him. “Fine. Have it your way, brother. But just so you know, whatever you plan to do, be it now or later, it’s not going to work.”“I’m not planning anything other

AidenI’ve been granted a temporary office at headquarters. My trial period, as Darla likes to call it, entails learning everything there is to know about Spencer’s business. In addition to that, I have to work hard to impress the board. Hence the office. “The more often those old gas bags see you at headquarters, the more likely they are to take you seriously.” Darla turns around to wink at me. She’s arrived at my place with a car that Spencer had arranged to bring me to headquarters.“But I won the trials. Why do I have to try so hard?” I roll my eyes at the way Darla is smiling patiently at me. “That’s because there are always those looking to take away everything the boss has worked so hard to build. If you don’t prove yourself now, Aiden, I’m afraid your opponents won’t hesitate to come at you, once you become the president of the corporation.”President. The amount of dread that single word carries should be studied. “Fine.” I let out a heavy breath. “I already went throug

VioletMeeting the dirtbag that nearly ruined my life isn’t the best idea I’ve ever had. But it’s one that needs to be carried out. I’ve spent several weeks hating myself; blaming myself for not being perceptive or strong enough to resist a vampire’s tricks. I’ve heard from Willow and Ginny, even Vincent about how much Rowan has suffered all summer. But now, I get to see it. The floor where they are keeping him looks like a lab. Like something a mad scientist would own. It’s all one huge giant space, comprised of work stations, operation tables, glass encasements. Turns out Rowan is being held in one of those glass encasements. The moment I set my eyes on him, I gasp. I actually take a couple of steps backwards and cover my mouth with my hands. Willow gasps too. She must have been oblivious to the extent of damage that’s been done to Rowan. “You two can leave at any time,” Vincent reminds us. Yeah, I know that. I know that no one is forcing me to be here. I can turn around r
