Chapter 48 - Shattered Dreams

"How was your day?" Shalom asks handing me a plate of food. My mouth waters at the smell of the roasted garlic and butter chicken. I smile loving every bit of this. I love the fact that we have a routine now.

We spend about eight hours apart working and then at the end of the day we come home to each other. We make a tasty meal and we reconnect.

"My day was interesting," I say thinking about my conversation with Olive. It was both heartbreaking and freeing. I knew she would find out about Shalom and me at some point. I knew she would call me out on my hypocrisy. She wanted everything I have with Shalom for us and for years I wasn't willing to give it to her. I completely understand why she hates me right now. I hope she gets to a point where she can forgive me.

"Oh? How?" She asks sitting down next to me She balances her plate on her belly and I smile. I love how cute she looks when she does that. I know she doesn't find it cute but it is. She says my baby is forcing her to do this
