Nine

I had planned on leaving before Aiden's driver would be here and so I woke up early. Good thing is that I don't have anything to pack so leaving won't be a problem. I do my morning routine as fast as I can. I took most of my clothes to the apartment but I left half my casual ones here. Today is Saturday so a white cropped hoodie and black sweatpants will have to do. I take out my white sneakers but when I'm halfway done, I hear a knock.

My mother comes in with a smile which falters slightly.

"Are you leaving dear?"

"Yes mum. Dinner was great."

"But it's seven!" Mum exclaims dramatically. She knows how much I love my beauty sleep during the weekend. "I better hurry up then." She says with a sigh and I smile at her.

"How's the book coming?" I ask and she lets out a long sigh.

"Lydia wants it in a month but I have this major block with your dad having a migraine, your grandfather refusing treatment and Naomi's miscar..." She trails
