Redemption's Sweet Temptation

When I was saved from prison by someone from another pack, my entire body was covered in wounds, still bleeding.

The healer was stunned by my state. While quickly casting an emergency healing spell, she encouraged me by my ear, "Hang in there! Everything will be fine!"

Days of torment had left me too weak to speak. All I could do was listen to the shocked, pitying gasps of the bystanders.

I tried my best to reach for the healer's sleeve. I wanted to ask her to save my child first.

However, I couldn't make a sound even though my mouth was open. My throat burned as if filled with thousands of needles.

Oh, I almost forgot.

When Ross refused the enemy's requests and hung up the phone, they poured burning quicksilver down my throat, snarling. "You worthless woman, you can't even make your own Alpha fall for you? He won't even give up that tiny territory to save you. You're nothing but a useless piece of trash!"

Pain still lingered in my throat, sending shivers throughout my body.

When the healer pushed me into the emergency room, we passed by a patient who happened to be listening to an interview.

"Alpha Ross, someone saw you and a healer, Jenny, enjoying a candlelight dinner at a high-end restaurant. May I know what your relationship with her is?"

Ross' cold voice sounded from the microphone. "I don't know her."

It felt like I'd been struck by lightning—physical pain and heartbreak crashing together, leaving me breathless.

Don't know me, huh…?

Before this, no matter how much we complained about each other, I thought this resentment was just part of our love. I thought we still loved each other.

I've always tried to make up for my mistake back then, no matter how much he ignored me.

I thought that as long as I gave him my whole heart, he'd eventually give me his in return.

Unfortunately, this was nothing but a hopeless fantasy.

His hatred for me was so deep that he had hoped for my death, so how could he love me?

It was time for me to wake up.

I gently closed my eyes, and tears mixed with blood streamed down.

As the herbs took effect, a burning pain spread through my wounds, and I passed out.

Right before I passed out, I felt like I heard Ross' voice.

However, his voice was filled with emotion this time compared to his previous coldness.

"Nasha is the world's kindest woman. I hope my Luna can be like Nasha…"

Nasha… She was Ross' new lover and also my junior.

In a dazed haze, fragments of memories flashed rapidly through my mind.

Back then, Nasha was an intern healer assigned to work under me.

She had all the theories memorized, but without any hands-on experience, she was often more of a burden to me.

Because of her, I often had to work overtime in the treatment room. Whenever Ross came by to wait for me and saw how exhausted I was, he always teased Nasha, "Why be a healer if you lack the talent? Just pack up and go home."

He clearly despised her.

Yet now, he wore such a gentle expression as he said that Nasha was the kindest woman in the world.
