Chapter 28

"It's almost the end of our contact," Dennis said.

Shana just nodded and looked away, unable to look at Dennis. She was afraid that if she looked at Dennis her tears would flow.

"We need to discuss this. Whether to continue or just end. In my opinion, we continue until we know exactly who wants to harm you."

Shana looked up at him with teary-eyed eyes.

"I think that's best"

After that Dennis placed his hand on Shana's shoulder and gave her a gentle pat.

The pair headed downstairs and took their seats at the table. They both had a silent and awkward meal together. The atmosphere between the couple wasn't tense. It was more like a tense silence. Neither of them wanted to talk but neither was willing to leave the table and go their separate ways. Eventually, they both finished their meals and cleaned up before heading upstairs.
