Saraphina

I was everywhere at once, my leg burned as we prepped for the banquet of peace. Every faction was going to be present.

Veronica kept sending me everywhere from the kitchen to the halls where everything was being put together. I was more than tired, but I couldn't stop. I didn't have the right to.

I rushed to her chambers, my breath ragged.

"My queen," I bowed my head, not wanting to meet her gaze that was sharper than a knife.

“You’re late,” she said, her voice sharp like broken glass.

“I was held up in the kitchen,” I replied quickly, trying to keep the tremor from my voice. “There was a delay with the wine delivery, and the guards—”

“I didn’t ask for an excuse, you stupid thing.” She cut me off, turning slowly to face me. “I asked for my perfume. Did you bring it?”

I nodded and stepped forward, placing the bottle gently on the vanity. My fingers brushed against the cool wooden surface, and I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror tired eyes, tangled curls, and the faintes

  • Reign Of The Lycan King    Chapter 0021

Lucian"My lord… what do you have to say about the recent development?"I was in a haze of my own thoughts, and whatever they had just said, I wasn't paying any attention.I tapped my hands rhythmically on my side. I felt so restless. It wasn’t just me—it was also my wolf. It felt like I could not breathe.I didn’t wait for them to finish; I just got up and walked out of there, needing space to breathe.I held my chest once I was out of there, and I groaned in pain. I didn’t understand what was actually happening."Saraphina…" I breathed. My senses became super heightened, but I could not smell her. I quickly made my way to my chambers where I'd left her this morning, but she was gone.I couldn’t sense her presence even in the palace, not just in the room."Get me Darius!" I yelled at the guards that stood outside my quarters. And within seconds, he was standing in front of me."The maid—she’s gone."He looked at me, surprised for a moment."Isn’t she in the servants’ quarters?""No,

SaraphinaThroughout the entire day, I was panicking. Was I actually about to do this? Why was I even having second thoughts?I hadn’t seen Lucian all day. I had already changed back into my maid's uniform, and that was when the doors opened—And Lilian walked in."Are you ready to go?" she asked in a calm voice.I wasn’t sure what to say. I just stood frozen in place."How do I know I can trust you?" I asked. "It feels like you just disappear and reappear at your own convenience. Do you even work at the palace?""Of course I do. I just work in a different wing. Please trust me..."She was so convincing. So I followed her without another word. The halls were dimly lit, the golden glow from the candles making everything feel warm, but my insides were cold. I wasn't sure what I was doing. What if we ran into Lucian? We walked in silence, her pace quick and confident—like she’d done this a hundred times before. I didn’t ask questions. I was too scared of the answers. But what terrified m

Darius"This wasn't the plan!" I yelled at her, rage coating my voice. I slammed my hands on the table in front of me.Slowly, I walked towards her, and she kept backing away. I saw the worry in her eyes she was terrified, and I was furious. Her back hit the wall, and I grabbed her by the neck."You are the High Witch of the Myrren Circle. I expect you to be stronger than this," I said, my voice dripping with venom."I'm sorry... Lord Darius," she said, barely able to speak."Please... please," she gasped, holding my hands as I tightened my grip."You promised me all the powers from the death of the Noir coven, but I have nothing!" I slammed her against the wall, then turned away, pacing the room, frustration boiling over. She collapsed to the ground, coughing heavily and clutching her throat."When the entire coven was killed, you were supposed to harness all the powers from them and make me strong enough to kill Lucian. So what happened?!" I yelled."I don't... know. I'm... not sure

Saraphina"I have to go," I said quickly, standing up to leave. But then he left his hand on mine, stopping me from moving. It felt like time stopped the moment his skin touched mine."Wait... Saraphina.""I'm sorry. I have to go now.""No, you don’t... I want you to spend the night here."I was stunned and taken aback for a moment. Was this actually happening? I was never supposed to even stay in the same room as the king.“I...I don’t think that’s a good idea,” I stammered, my heart pounding. "I want to stay in the maids’ quarters.""You are not strong yet, and I think it's best you stay here," he said. His tone was strict it wasn’t a request, it was an order."I can't, Your Majesty," I said, not looking directly into his eyes. His gaze was too intense."Why?""I... I've never shared a bed with a man before," I admitted softly, not wanting him to see my face. His words lingered in the air. "You don't have to worry about that. I'll be sleeping in another room tonight."A wave of reli

SaraphinaNo... no, this wasn’t happening.Flames were everywhere, and I was in the middle of it all. The smell of burnt bodies filled the aireveryone was dead around me, and I was the only one left standing.I didn’t know how I got here or what was happening. But I knew this was all me. I caused this.I screamed in agony and when I opened my eyes, I was in a room. The palace.I looked around, and I recognized this place. The king’s chambers. What was I doing here?My hands trembled as I sat up in the massive bed, drenched in sweat. The scent of ash still clung to my skin, thick and suffocating. My chest heaved, lungs desperate for air. But the flamesthey had felt real. Too real.I stared down at my hands, expecting to see blood, soot… something. But they were clean. The king’s chambers were dimly lit, the embers in the hearth casting shadows along the stone walls. Heavy velvet curtains blocked the windows. Everywhere was quiet.Too quiet.I pressed a hand to my heart. It was racing

LucianHer breathing was shallow, but she was fine and that was the most important thing right now. I watched her sleep. She looked so peaceful. Slowly, I got up and looked at her again before walking out. I didn’t want to leave her side, but I knew when she woke up, she wouldn’t want to see me.I sat in my study, my mind blank. I wasn’t sure what was actually going through it, so I just sat there, staring at the ceiling.Minutes passed. Maybe hours. I didn’t know. All I knew was the crushing weight sitting on my chest.Everything felt off.The silence. The air.Me.There was a time when being alone with my thoughts brought clarity. But tonight, all it brought was chaos. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw her face—the look of fear, of pain, of things unspoken. There was a darkness inside her.And I felt it.A soft knock on the study door pulled me from my spiral.“Come in,” I said quietly.Darius stepped inside, his expression serious but not surprised to find me in this state.
