Chapter 53

- Ashina -

I returned to the palace feeling broken and completely downcast.

I had so much hope to pay off Gizmo's debt so I could be free, but after hearing from Elena's parents, I did not even know what to do from there.

I am supposed to remain Gizmo's slave all my life?

When I entered the palace, I saw Damon talking to one of the guards at the entrance, and I thought he would say something to me. Maybe a hi.

And I would have greeted him as well but when our eyes met, he turned his face away and acted like he did not see me.

I waited for a moment, contemplating if I should go up to him and say something but the way he completely ignored me held me back.

I don't know how long he intends to go on with this, but I am also not in the mood for it.

At the moment, I am seriously going through a riot and I am not myself.

I walked away and straight to my room. Even though I still expected he would say something to me at least, he didn't.

I took a deep breath and entered my room.
