The first Advantage

The force of it knocked the wind right out of her.

Alina fell to the ground with a thud, rolling across the pavement until she finally stopped moving.

“Ahhh!”

A surge of pain shot through her side, making her gasp. Her ankle was throbbing, the ache sharp and intense, but she gritted her teeth and pushed herself up, determined to get to her feet.

Not fatal.

That was all that mattered.

Sirens echoed faintly in the distance.

They were still looking.

[System Notice: Host condition — minor injuries.]

[Mobility — limited but stable.]

Alina steadied her breathing.

“…Then I move.”

As she caught sight of the Crosswell estate, her pace began to slow, yet she didn't come to a complete halt.

The gates stood open.

The mansion loomed ahead, quiet and imposing.

Waiting.

Alina paused just outside.

Something felt unsettling.

The mansion was too calm as though it was waiting for her arrival.

[System Update: New Task Available.]

Her vision flickered faintly.

She stilled.

“…Now?”

[Task: Gain Psychological Advantage Over Target — Zaria Blake.]

[Difficulty: Medium]

[Reward: +50 Points]

[Bonus: Additional points based on target destabilization.]

Alina’s gaze darkened slightly.

“Psychological advantage…”

[Points can be used in System Exchange.]

[Unlock items, abilities, and information.]

A pause.

Then a faint smile formed on her lips.

“…So this is how I build up.”

Her eyes shifted toward the mansion doors.

“And she’s already inside.”

[Hint: Target displays high composure. Break pattern. Force reaction.]

Alina exhaled slowly.

Understood.

She pushed the door open.

Voices drifted from the living room.

Laughter.

Comfortable.

Alina stepped in and stopped.

There she was.

Zaria Blake.

Seated like she belonged there.

Elegant. Untouched. Calm.

On either side of her sat Alina’s parents.

Relaxed.

Pleased.

As if nothing had happened.

As if Alina herself didn’t matter.

She never really mattered to them. A loser can not be tagged to Crosswell's name.

Her eyes narrowed slightly.

Good.

That made this easier.

Zaria turned, a soft smile forming.

“Alina.”

Her tone was smooth.

Measured.

Watching.

Alina stepped forward.

Slow.

Steady.

“…You’re early.”

Zaria tilted her head slightly.

“I prefer to settle matters quickly.”

[System Notice: Target composure, stable.]

Her mother told her to stop just standing there and to go ahead and say sorry.

Alina didn’t even glance at her.

“…For what?”

The shift was immediate.

His father's voice became stern, "For the accident, for damaging Miss Blake's car."

[System Prompt: Apply pressure.]

Alina’s lips curved faintly.

“…Then let’s be clear.”

She walked forward majestically like she owned the mansion.

Each step is deliberate and calculated.

Ignoring the pain.

“Explain it to me.”

Zaria’s eyes sharpened just slightly.

“Explain… what?”

Alina stopped in front of her.

Close.

Intentional.

“…Why your car was there.”

A pause.

Small.

But real.

[+10 Points: Target hesitation detected.]

Alina continued, voice calm.

“…And why it hit me.”

Her mother snapped instantly. “ That’s enough!”

But it was too late.

Zaria’s smile thinned.

“…Careful, Alina,” she said softly.

Her tone had dropped.

“You’re starting to sound irrational.”

[System Prompt: Escalate.]

Alina leaned in slightly.

Not aggressive.

Not loud.

But precise.

“…Am I?”

Silence stretched.

Heavy.

Zaria stood slowly, regaining control but Alina was ten steps ahead of her.

“Let’s not make this worse,” she said.

Alina didn’t move.

Didn’t back down.

“Then don’t lie.”

The words landed clean.

Sharp.

Her father slammed his hand down. “ Have you lost your mind?!”

[+15 Points: Target composure destabilizing.]

Zaria’s eyes flickered.

Just briefly.

But Alina caught it.

Good.

Very good.

She stepped closer.

Close enough that only Zaria could hear.

"Next time," she said, her voice cold as ice, "make sure I don't make it out alive." Zaria’s eyes widened in shock “because, I'll be your biggest nemesis.”

For the first time Zaria’s composure cracked.

A flicker.

Real.

Gone in an instant.

But enough.

[+25 Points: Direct psychological impact confirmed.]

[Total Earned: 50 Points]

[Task Complete: Psychological Advantage Gained.]

Alina straightened.

A faint smile touched her lips.

Not soft.

Not kind.

Certain.

She stepped back.

Turned.

And walked away.

Silence filled the room behind her.

No one stopped her.

No one spoke.

Because something had changed.

Irreversibly.

At the top of the stairs, Alina paused.

Her grip rested lightly on the railing.

Her breathing steadied.

Controlled.

“…Fifty points.”

[System Notice: Points available for exchange.]

Her gaze darkened slightly.

“Show me later.”

[Acknowledged.]

Voices began again downstairs

Lower now.

Uneasy.

Uncertain.

Alina turned toward the hallway.

Her steps slow.

Deliberate.

“This isn’t her house anymore.”

Her lips curved faintly.

“It’s a battlefield.”

Behind her

Zaria Blake remained standing in the living room.

Still.

Silent.

Watching the empty staircase.

Her smile had returned

But it wasn’t the same.

The quiet Alina has changed into something Dangerous.
