Alana’s POV

I saw relief wash over him at my reply before he nodded without another word exchanged between us. Adam caught up with us eventually before I waved them goodbye and began to head home in the opposite direction.

As I made my way back to my house, the adrenaline from my training was still coursing through my veins. I reflected on our conversation and his reaction. Maybe I’m wrong, but I saw disappointment flash through his features at the mention of children.

Was he disappointed that I had children for another man who wasn’t him, or was he just disappointed in the situation? Whatever it was, I guess I am never going to find out what thought had plunged into his mind earlier.

As I approached home, I couldn't help but feel a mixture of anticipation and anxiety course through me. I wasn’t expecting to see Nadia and some pack women who were obviously under her command blocking my path.

I bet she couldn’t fight her battles and had to employ the help of her followers to come do it
