Kira's POV.

“Harassing a girl who’s already had a rough landing?” Alpha Ryder’s voice comes out calm, but there’s a sharp edge to it that makes both girls stiffen. “You know the rules. Leave her alone.”

Relief washes over me the moment I hear him take my side again.

"Y-yes, Alpha," the two girls stammer in unison.

But then Alpha Ryder frowns and turns his gaze to me, his eyes narrowing. “Who told her to clean the toilets?” he asks, pointing at me.

The brunette swallows hard. “W-We don’t know.... We just saw her doing it,” the she adds quickly, avoiding his gaze.

Alpha Ryder scoffs, “Anyway, apologize for what you said to her,” he commands, his voice low but firm.

They both flinch. “We are sorry,” they mutter, nearly in unison again, then scurry off like mice fleeing a predator.

A faint smile tugs at my lips as I tighten my grip on the dirty rag. I don’t know why Ryder is treating me this way, but it’s strangely starting to feel comforting having someone, on my side.

Kira’s POV. The stench of wet fur, blood, and rotting food clings to me as I step out of the pack hospital. My arms and hands ache and feel sore from scrubbing cages, and I swear I can still feel the weight of the waste buckets I hauled all day. It's been eight hours of cleaning up after sick and injured wolves, and what do I have to show for it? A ruined uniform and the lingering scent of kennel filth that no amount of scrubbing ever seems to remove. I keep my head down as I walk, hoping and praying I can make it back home without running into anyone. But, of course, the Moon Goddess isn’t that kind to omegas like me. “Look what we have here.” I freeze at the sound of that sickly sweet voice I'd recognize even without looking at them. My stomach twists, and I force myself to keep moving, but it’s too late. They’ve seen me. Lena, Tara, and Cassie, once my highschool classmates, now my daily tormentors step in front of me, blocking my path. Their perfectly styled hair an

Kira’s POV "Why do I even put up with those bullies?" I mutter, my body aching with every step back to the pack. Fresh bruises bloom beneath my torn uniform, refusing to heal immediately because of my omega blood, but I grit my teeth and push forward. The Blissleaf is tucked safely in my pocket. The only reason I endured this miserable night from those mutts. By the time I reach the pack’s main square, the streets are quieter, most pack mates having retired for the night. But I know where they’ll be. They’re always there. Lena, Tara, and Cassie lounge on the stone steps outside the café, laughing over drinks, their polished nails glinting in the moonlight. My stomach churns at the sight of them, but I keep my chin high as I walk up to them. Lena notices me first and smirks. “Well, well. Look who’s still breathing.” I say nothing, just pull the small bundle of Blissleaf from my pocket and toss it onto the table between them. The silver leaves glisten under the streetlights

Kira’s POV The next morning comes too soon and my body still aches in places I didn’t even know could hurt, but I force myself out of bed and go to work as usual. The bruises from last night throb under my worn out uniform as I walk, but I don’t dare complain because who can even hear me out or believe anything I say… The pack hospital looms ahead, its cold white walls offering no comfort. I swipe my badge at the entrance and make my way inside, hoping I’ll be left alone today. But I have no such luck. "Kira Everhart!" I stop, turning as Nurse Yvonne strides toward me. Her usual look of disinterest is replaced with annoyance. "You’re on cleaning duty in the west wing today," she says, shoving a cart toward me. "Do it properly this time." The west wing? My brows furrow. That area is barely used except for private patients whom I refer to as the important ones. Before I can ask why since most of the times, Gammas where responsible for cleaning that area, Yvonne is alrea

Kira’s POV The sun is already setting by the time my shift ends. My body aches from scrubbing floors and handling sick pack mates all day, but at least I’m done. I just want to go home, crawl into bed, and forget this miserable day ever happened. But as usual fate always has other plans. I barely make it a few steps from the hospital when my bullies show up. "Well, well," sneers Cassie, the ringleader. "Look who’s finally off work. Still rolling around in filth, Kira?" Her friends snicker beside her and I clench my fists. "I don't want your trouble today." Lena smirks and dangles my mother's bracelet in front of me. My breath catches and I don't think, I just lunge for it, but she jerks it away, laughing. "Not so fast," she coos. "You still owe us, remember?" "I already did what you asked," I snap. "Now give it back!" Tara clicks her tongue. "Tsk, tsk. You’re not very smart, are you? We never said we’d return it after just one favor." My stomach twists. "What do you want now

Kira's POV. "Are you insane?" I hiss. "Why would you—" Tara shrugs, immediately cutting me off. "To make the Alpha heir fall in love with one of us dummy." Lena grins. "Yes... And since you successfully brought back blissful leaves the other day, we figured you can do it again. So you’ll do it for us, won’t you, Kira?" Successfully? Are they fuckiing kidding me? I almost got killed that night. I glare at them. "I don’t believe you. You’ll never give me back my bracelet." Cassie gasps dramatically. "Kira, I’m offended. You don’t trust us?" "Not even a little," I deadpan. The girls exchange knowing smiles. "Alright," Lena says. "How about this? You bring us a fresh blue rose’s fang, and we swear on the Moon Goddess, we’ll give you back your bracelet. No more tricks." I hesitate because I know it's a trap. But what other choice do I have? I stare at my mother’s bracelet, so close yet so far. I can do it…One last stupid favor and I will make sure to avoid them by any m

Damian's POV. I pace the living room area of the hotel suite I'm staying in, my fingers twitching at my sides. The expensive rug muffles my footsteps, but my frustration burns loud and clear. "Of all the wolves in this damn world," I mutter, voice low and sharp, "the Goddess had to pick her." Mother’s eyes flick up from her glass of wine. She's lounging on the velvet sofa, in her two piece white suit, calm as always. "Her?" she questions because she doesn’t know exactly what I'm talking about. I stop pacing and turn to face her. "Can you believe that the goddess fated me to an omega." The words taste bitter on my tongue. "She is a weak, pitiful excuse of a wolf... I don't want her near me!" Mother hums thoughtfully, swirling her wine. "An omega, you say?" The words alone set my blood on fire. I can't hide my frustration anymore. "That's all you have to say?" I snap. "I won’t accept her," I repeat, my voice tight with anger. Her glass clinks against the table as she sets

Damian's POV. “That’s her,” I say, turning to my mother who is still lounging on the sofa, sipping wine like she doesn’t have a care in the world. But at my words, she sets her glass down and gives me a pointed look. “Let them in,” she says smoothly. Then, through our mind-link, her voice cuts sharper. ‘ Remember, don’t reject her. Think of another way to keep her close to you instead.’ I clench my jaw. I already know exactly what I want to do. Julian gestures to the guard. “Go ahead. Let them in.” The guard nods and steps away. Moments later, the door opens, and my mate walks in looking dirty and disorganized like before. But the world still fades away as the bond tugs at me, pulling me toward her like a moth to a flame. I admit that she is a beautiful petite omega... but all I can see is her weakness in the way she lowers her eyes, and the uncertainty in her steps. I grit my teeth, disgusted with myself for feeling anything toward her. Fate must be playing a sick joke

Kira's POV The drive home after meeting with prince Damian and his mother is quiet, but my mind won’t stop racing. Damian’s cold words echo in my head, sharp and full of disgust. 'Don't fool yourself. This isn't some fairytale you get to live a happily ever after.' Those words keeps circling back, clinging to me like a shadow. How could my own mate, fate chose for me couldn’t even hide his disappointment. He didn’t reject me, but he made it painfully clear that I wasn’t wanted. Instead, I’ve been ordered to work as a servant in his palace — as if I’m nothing more than an inconvenience to be managed. I swallow hard, fighting back the tightness in my throat. It’s not like I expected him to welcome me with open arms, but… I didn’t think it would feel this awful. I stare out the window, watching the trees blur past. Suddenly, my thoughts drift back to the hotel suite — not just to Damian’s cruel words, but to that wheelchair. I remember seeing it once before back at the pack

Kira's POV. Alpha Ryder looks at me for a long moment after the question I asked him. “I have a feeling that you will repay my kindness in the future.” He doesn’t explain what that means nor does he wait for a response. Instead, he turns and steps toward the doorway. “Get some rest. There’s a pack meeting in the morning You’ll need to be there. It’s time my people knew who you are.” “But I don’t know who I am,” I say softly. His gaze lingers on me, unreadable once more. “You will.” And then he leaves, shutting the door behind him with a soft click... I sit there, staring at the space where he once stood, his words echoing in my mind. Repay his kindness? What could I possibly offer someone like him? I have nothing. No power. No rank. Not even a sense of who I really am. And yet, for some reason, he believes I will. *** By the time supper rolls around, a knock sounds at my door. A young omega, eyes downcast, tells me I’ve been called to the main dining hall. My stomac

Kira's POV. The walls of silver pack's house are painted with muted tones, but nothing about this place feels soft as I walk behind Zara, her perfume strong and sweet like poisoned honey. She doesn’t look back as she leads me down the corridor, her heels clicking with authority. “We’ll do a quick tour before I dump you in your room,” she says over her shoulder. “Try to keep up.” She starts pointing things out with lazy flicks of her hand as we move. “That’s the indoor training hall. Not that you’ll need it.” We pass a wide room with high ceilings and padded floors. A few warriors glance our way but quickly return to sparring. Zara doesn’t pause. “Kitchen and dining area are down that hall. Don’t get in the cooks’ way or they’ll have your head.” We move through several corridors. The pack house is large, grand even, with clean lines and polished wood. But the air feels heavy, like I don’t belong here. "That’s the Alpha’s office," she says, her voice sharp with warnin

Kira's POV. The couch cushions are worn but warm beneath me. I tug the borrowed blanket tighter around my shoulders, watching Noah move about the small cabin’s kitchen, humming under his breath as he stirs something in a pot. The smell of herbs and meat fills the air, but my stomach twists instead of growling. I don’t feel safe. Something inside me keeps whispering that I should leave when suddenly a heavy knock echoes through the cabin. Noah tenses and my heart stutters. Could that be Elara again? BANG, BANG… Another knock—louder this time. “Noah!” a man's voice calls, deep and commanding. “Open the door before I break it down.” Noah stiffens, the spoon slipping from his hand and clattering against the stove. “Shit,” he mutters under his breath. Then he turns to me with urgency burning in his eyes. “That’s Alpha Ryder.” The name sends a chill down my spine. “Alpha…?” “Yes, and he won’t like seeing you here especially not without clearance.” He hastily strides over

Julian's POV "Theo, go on ahead. I’ll catch up," I instruct, my tone firm. He nods and walks away without question. My gaze shifts to the woman I nearly collided with—frozen in place, as if time itself paused for this moment. "Helen Whitmore," I say her name slowly, like a ghost resurrected from a past I’d tried to bury. "I never thought I’d see you here again.” Her smile falters for just a second, replaced by something close to regret. “Well, I heard from Evelyn that… you’re walking again. I—I just wanted to see it for myself.” “Congratulations. You’ve seen it.” I take a half-step back. She bites her lip, eyes searching mine. “How have you been?”Is she seriously asking that, after vanishing without a word the moment I became a cripple? My jaw tightens as the image of Kira falling slices through my mind like a blade. I see her wide, terrified eyes. Hear her scream—swallowed by the wind as she vanished over the cliff’s edge.“Fine,” I say, voice clipped. “And busy” “Oh

Julian's POV. (Meanwhile in Crimson crown) “It's been two and a half hours, and we’re still circling the same point!” Elder Rolf slams his palm on the table, making the ink pot jump. “The boy can walk again and is mated…What more do you need?” “Walking is not everything,” snaps Elder Marren, her sharp eyes flicking to me. “Let us not forget Julian spent some years as a cripple. His wolf didn’t even surface until Eighteen?”“Yet here he sits,” Elder Garron says, leaning forward, his voice edged with steel. “He’s survived assassination attempts, wars, rogue attacks. His wolf? One of the strongest I’ve seen in decades. And Damian? He’s spent his days smiling for portraits and chasing noble daughters, until he went gallivanting across the packs for a mate who, it turns out, was here all along.”Beside me, Damian shifts in his chair, but his face remains composed, calm and unreadable, just as it has been since I turned down the throne for Kira’s safety. He’s letting the Elders speak

Kira's POV Noah moves to a chest and pulls out a hoodie and a pair of sweatpants. “Because you remind me of my sister,” he murmurs. “She was... helpless and these were hers. They should fit. Bathroom’s through there.” He doesn't say what happened to her and I don't ask. I take the clothes gently, offering a quiet, “Thanks.” If Noah doesn’t want to talk about his sister, I won’t push. It’s not my place, especially not when I’m just an outsider in his pack. I walk to the bathroom and behind the safety of the closed door, I glance in the mirror and flinch. My reflection stares back: dirty, battered, lips split, red hair clinging in wet clumps to my face. But it’s the mark burned into the slope of my shoulder that steals my breath. Why can't I remember anything? I run my fingers over it. My wolf perks up instantly, the faintest whimper in her chest. 'Who did this to us?' she asks, but I don’t have an answer to her question because I don't remember my mate? A beat of silence.

  • Rejected By My Mate. Claimed By His Disabled Brother.   Chapter 71.

Kira's POV Cold is the first thing I feel. Not the soft kind that bites gently but the cruel, bone-deep chill that scrapes along every inch of my skin. “Ah, my head,” I groan while my eyes flutter open. The first thing I see are blurry shapes, a grey sky and rustling trees… I’m lying on something hard. Pebbles dig into my back as water laps at my legs… Maybe this is death again. ‘No,’ a whisper stirs deep inside me. ‘You’re not dead.’ My wolf sounds weak, like even speaking drains her. ‘How do you know?’ I ask her. ‘Because if we were dead, we wouldn’t feel this pain.’ And she’s right. Pain pulses through me, sharp and raw, crawling over every inch of my body. I groan softly again and try to sit up, but everything aches. My muscles protest, my skin screams. I feel like I’ve been chewed up and spit out by the earth itself. ‘What happened to us?’ I ask clueless. ‘I think we were running from something and then… I can't remember.’ she replies blankly and a shiver r

Julian's POV. My stomach turns because in as much as I want to tell my father that I want the throne, he can’t know I just watched the girl I love vanish off a cliff and that all I want is to fall apart and scream until the world bleeds with me because of the title. “I stand by my decision I made last evening,” I say. “I don’t want the crown.” The words cut deeper than I expect especially while Damian is still watching… and smiling. Father stiffens. Just for a moment. A flicker of disappointment flashes in his eyes. Then… it’s gone. He nods once. Sharp. Dismissive. Very well,” he says. And just like that, it’s done. Years of training, expectation, legacy— Dropped with a shrug and a lie. Damian’s grin grows, but I don’t look at him again because I might act on instinct and do something stupid for everything he has done to Kira. “If that's all, I’m heading up,” I mutter. “Yeah, clean yourself up before the court sees you,” my father says coolly as I pass already clim
