Chapter sixteen

Riley's pov

I couldn't open my eyes, nor could I say anything, but I could hear what was happening around me, even though it was faint and distant.

The blood on my body had dried up. No one bothered to check on me. They all want me dead. Anyway, I am just a mere servant. They could get another one immediately if they desired. That is how worthless I am most of the time.

I heard the door open and their footsteps. not belonging to just one person, but three.

The footsteps got closer and closer until they were right before me. Two of them picked me up from the ground and took me out of the room. I had no idea where they were taking me, too.

They pushed me in what I think is a carriage because of the wooden floor. and how small it was.

"We will be leaving immediately." "I hope the boat is ready," said that familiar voice. It was so familiar. It belongs to Bruce, right? That was Bruce's voice.

What was he doing? Where is he taking me too? What is going on?
