MasukWith an army of thousands of capable shifters at his disposal, Erichon would surely have a hard time keeping up.
Veryl would not stop for anything until one of the kingdoms was erased from the map of Agal. That was not to say Erichon was weaker against Horizenia but it had everything to do with the opponent having some advantage over them. Although his threat sounded foolish at first glance, everyone in the supernatural world knew better than to provoke the seemingly calm and unbothered king. Not known as the aggressor, the young king was simply not scared of no one. The rest of the kingdoms wouldn't dare to intervene because consequently, that would escalate to world war which everyone was trying to prevent. Jeopardizing the two centuries of peace in Agal after having fought each other for hundreds of years was out of the equestion. Erichon and Horizenia were simply on their own. Putting the letter inside a drawer, Selly packed a small backpack. Just a few things she needed for a few days. The king would be furious after he finds out she had chosen herself over her duties, that much she expected. She didn't intend to abandon her people anyways, all she wanted was to secure her Goddess given right to be with her destined mate. So when the clock struck midnight, Selly stood in the middle of her chamber, chanting as she drew a rune as ancient as time itself on the marble floor. Taking a small knife, she made a small cut on her wrist, just enough to draw blood. Her mate was a world away but she was positive that she would find him before things turned worse at home. Marrying a cold-hearted king Veryl when she had her own mate was unthinkable, she thought. It wouldn't be too hard to locate him now, would it? She continued to muse as her chants increased in frequency. As soon as her blood touched the rune, a black smoky portal ring appeared and she stepped inside it before it shrank into nothing, vanishing along with her as if it were not there. Away from Selly’s house, the priestess sat by the fire holding a glowing crystal ball with a disturbed face. “May the Goddess have mercy upon us.” She murmured as she watched the portal close shut. ~ Selly found herself being unceremoniously thrown onto the ground before the portal vanished into thin air. It took her a short while before her mind connected the dots and adjusted perfectly to the darkness. A forest. She was in a foreign world. Huh! didn't the locator spell indicate the exact coordinates? Scratching her un-itchy head, she murmured, albeit unknowingly, “How am I supposed to find my mate in the middle of nowhere?” Did the portal drop her at the wrong address? A technical problem of some sort? Turning her head in both directions, she couldn't find any sign of humans or shifters around. Weird! She glanced into the heavens, silently asking for guidance and the moon stared back, round and proud. The sun wasn't going to show up any time soon, she noticed. Scanning her surroundings, nothing was out of ordinary, it was almost as if the human world was a replica of her own home. Although she could tell for sure that the energy vibration felt a little lower it was nothing to be concerned about. It was her first time to travel to the human world and she didn't know what to expect of it but hope. There was never a time in history that the portal led one to a wrong destination while traveling between realities. This was it. Securing her little backpack, she smoothed her unruly brown hair and marched. She was hopeful and ecstatic. Nothing could get between her happiness and soon, she would meet, mate and mark. And after she had secured the bond , she would go back home and accept her punishment. ~ Miles away from Selly, a grand off-white house stood in the middle of forest with guards in both human and wolf forms standing vigilant in the periphery. The tension was palpable. Not a single one of them wore a smile and one could hear orders being barked at the far end. It was happening again. The Westhund pack was under attack. Recently there have been many rogue attacks in Petroit city and their territory was not an exception. In the midst of it all, most shifters were struggling to conceive but Colette, the Luna of the Westhund pack gave birth to twins leading to their pack being targeted twice already, albeit unsuccessfully. This made Alpha Lewis Westhund lose sleep. Some smaller packs decided to leave the woods and move into the inner parts of the city which was initially considered human territory for safety reasons. With the only window of time to shift being on the full moon and the following daytime, the packs with fewer werewolves were vulnerable against rogues who were showing up in even bigger numbers after every attack. For them, the only option was to live among humans and visit territories during full moons when they could shift and protect themselves better. The decline in fertility had triggered abduction of the little ones, with some rogues turning it into a profitable business. “Alpha,” Beta Grigor bowed as soon as the head of the Westhund pack emerged from the house. “We have increased rogue activities in the northern border. I’m afraid they might attack anytime now?” Having taken a short break to be with his Luna and pups, Lewis couldn't help but furrow. Everything was happening too fast. “Add manpower to that border and stay vigilant on the other three.” “Right away alpha.” The Beta nodded, taking the radio transmitter, he passed the message to the different heads of borders as they walked to the closest gate but before they could get far they heard a scream. “Attack!, the south is under attack!” As soon as the caller sent a message, they heard another scream, louder than the first followed by silence. Not long after, the line got disconnected. “Fuck!” As soon as the curse left his lips, the radio was once again filled with different voices, each sending the same message. The rogues had fooled them. They had carefully distracted them using the north only to attack from all sides simultaneously. “Ring the siren!” Alpha took the radio and gave the order which was carried right away by the emergency department personnel. With mutual understanding, the pack members quickly started to assemble the pregnant women, children and elderly to their closest hideout. In less than 20 minutes, the small town was almost empty except for smaller groups of capable men and women who were ready to defend their pack with their lives. Selly, who had been aimlessly walking for hours, finally found herself on a highway. Sweaty and worn out, she took shelter under a tree when her sensitive ears picked up a faint sound of a siren. Confused, she stood up and listened carefully. Seems like there are people closeby, she thought. She had already started to feel a little hopeless after having not met a single human since she arrived. Deciding to meet these people in hopes that her mate would be among them, she followed the sound. Fifteen minutes later, Selly stopped. In front of her was a dead body then another. Before she knew it, a few dozen more bodies added to the number. What have I found herself into? Deciding against mingling with the human business, she retreated but then stopped. What if my mate is closeby? At the thought, her heart raced. The dream! What if this is what I have been envisioning?Months had passed since Lord Flame was defeated. Since the era of darkness finally came to an end. The lives of shifters were starting to feel normal again.Pack leaders were starting to relax again.Mates were finding one another without difficulties and overall fertility was slowly rising again. Rogues' activities lessened as not one incident was reported since the last battle. The lycans who joined Selly to help fight against Flame returned to Erichon sending warm regards from the Westhunds, the Earthly family of their Protector. Dolly was back to her parent's house as she embraced her newly found love. She was no longer a nobody. Her former last name was no longer Noman as she was now a Beta’ daughter of one of the strongest packs in Detroit city.Occasionally, she would leave without her mother's notice to hang out and play cards with Dominik. While at it, she would sniff him, mumbling something about him smelling good.“You're taking advantage of me.” Dominik would complain
He was a feared Lord, even in the underworld. He couldn't accept defeat from mere mortals. As most of Flames men were dead, he walked to the centre and Jordan pulled his sword, which was swirling with a black and yellow glow. His rune was activated. The real show was starting. Flame attacked, his sword clashing with Jordan's glowing one. The exchange was fierce. Selly held her breath, watching Jordan bent backward when Flame’s sword missed his neck by a few centimeters. When Jordan stopped with his back turned to Lord Flame, his blade was smeared with blood. Flame gasped, his hand going to settle on his open stomach before he staggered back with blood oozing out.Aria came to his side, jumping on the scene while Dominik watched her once dainty self attacking Jordan with vigor.Malachi was enjoying the show with a satisfied smirk when all of a sudden Lolita jumped at him, her dirty nails ready to scratch his face.Malachi stepped back before kicking her in the gut. He didn't let
When time came, the team was ready to depart to the battleground.Selly together with Malachi created a portal that could drop them at the centre of the that unnamed village. Having been there before made it easy to teleport there.Since they were going against a former Keeper Of The Underworld, Selly's job was to breach and destroy the illusion. Dominik's job was to protect Dolly at all cost while her job was to pinpoint who the real enemy was as Flame could impersonate anyone.Jordan, Grigor and the rest were supposed to fight. They took off, leaving Luna Collette, The Priestess, Aretha and Alpha Lewis as he was still recuperating. When they materialised near the Authority building, the streets were empty but Malachi knew better than to relax,“Selly,” He called, signaling her to break the illusion and shatter the veil.Lord Flame must have noticed their arrival. Selly joined her palms before she touched the ground and chanted ancient spells only Keepers of the Universe knew.Ther
Malachi walked out of Dolly's room. His mind was occupied by what Dolly had said to him that he didn't notice Dominik watching him exit her room.An hour later Malachi, Malachi stood in front of Collete doing what the Priestess had taught him.Alpha Lewis sat on a wheelchair across the room, watching the young vampire utter words no one understood except himself while Jordan held her hand on one side and Dominik on the other.Dr. Marc observed silently while Dolly held a look of worry. Everything that has happened to her this week has been things she watched on TV.Real warlocks existed and she was watching one at the moment. Goddess forbid she had once fantasized being loved by one but now that it was happening in reality, she wished it was a dream. Malachi had been chanting for almost an hour when Luna Colette finally gasped, wide eyed. Her frail body was fighting to stay awake as if something was pulling her back to sleep. She struggled as if she was suffocating. Dominik blinked,
They stepped inside Alpha Lewis' resting room and as soon as he saw the green-eyed young man, he frowned.“Welcome to our pack Malachi.”Malachi walked to him and shook his hand. Gone was his agitation and playful nature replaced by seriousness.“How are you feeling Alpha Westhund?” He asked the old man.Alpha Lewis shrugged, it was rare for anyone to ask how he felt. That excluded his family and close members of the pack though.Malachi walked back a few steps and pointed out saying, “Given your lineage and Alpha blood running in your veins, you should be healed by now.”Alpha Lewis didn't know how to respond. Of course he was supposed to be back on his feet but for some reason he wasn't. He didn't say it out loud but it really worried him.Even a newly identified shifter like Dolly was doing well unlike him.He cast the negativity aside saying, “Let's forget about me for a while.” Tell me, are you anyhow related to the late Lord Isaac Graeme?”Malachi brow twitched.Lewis smiled i
Night came without warning. The window whistled slowly above the hidden underground chamber where hundreds of children were kept.Mostly girls and boys below fourteen and some were as young as infants. A young woman with the same eyes as Lord Flame stood at the entrance. Her face was serene but her aura was as dark as her masters,“It's time.” Her cold and detached voice reached the head warrior and the secret door was pulled open. One after another the children were led out and towards an already made altar not too far from the secret place. The children's eyes were all black, resembling that of their master. There was neither light nor innocence in their eyes. Only stoicism. The older children who looked like they had no souls in them were made to form a circle while the infants were placed at the centre of it.Lord Flame stood on the altar with pride, the dark haired woman joining and standing beside him while the rest stood aside. He announced, “It's been more than thirty years
