Felix's POV

" Are you sure she would be in her room," I heard a familiar voice ask with irritation in her tone.

" Where else would that dirty thing be if not in her room since we didn't see her in the kitchen," Jane replied and I realized that the person she was having a conversation with might be her mother.

My heart thundered in my chest as I was searching for where to hide.

I know Scarlett would be in trouble if they saw me coming from her room and I couldn't go back as their footsteps were coming through the entrance and there was no way I would leave without bumping into them.

I pushed Scarlett's door forcefully open and stepped in with my heart banging in my chest, my gaze searching for a place to hide as I heard the footsteps approaching her room.
