Chapter 5: "I Accept Your Rejection"

Alison's POV

The sound of my boots echoed sharply down the hall as I marched toward Alpha Kendrick’s office. Each step felt like a storm building inside me, rising and intensifying with every stride. My heart thundered, not from fear, but from the burning fury I’d kept buried for far too long. Today, everything would change. I’d make sure of it.

I threw open the door to Kendrick’s office. There he sat, calm as ever, his dark eyes narrowing as I stormed in. Standing by his side was his ever-loyal beta, Silas, who shot me a curious glance before Kendrick dismissed him with a cold wave of his hand.

“Leave us, Silas,” Kendrick ordered, his gaze locked on me.

Silas bowed and slipped out, the door clicking shut with a finality that seemed to trap us in this confrontation. My wolf, Maya, stirred inside me, her presence brimming with strength and fire. She and I had both waited long enough for this.

Kendrick rose from his desk, his expression unreadable. But before I could say a word, he smirked. “I see you finally have your wolf, Alison. And I take it you've discovered the bond?”

I clenched my fists, my body trembling with the effort it took to hold back the tidal wave of emotions crashing inside me. “You knew,” I spat, my voice laced with accusation. “You knew all this time that I was your mate. You let me suffer… let her humiliate me… and you did nothing.”

He folded his arms, a hint of disdain tugging at his lips. “Watch your tone, little pup,” he warned, his voice dripping with condescension. “I don’t appreciate you raising your voice in my presence. Just because you got your wolf doesn't exactly mean we are equal”

A bitter laugh escaped me. “Why? Are you afraid to hear the truth?” I took a step closer, eyes blazing with Maya’s intensity. “Why did you treat me this way, Kendrick? I’m your mate. I belong to you not Priya, yet you let her, of all people, trample all over me while you watched.” My voice cracked. “You’re even going to marry her tomorrow.”

Kendrick’s expression darkened, and his gaze turned sharp as a blade. “Because, Alison,” he snapped, his voice rising, “I cannot be mated to a lowly servant like you, talk more of making you my Luna.”

The words pierced through me, sharper than any blade. A tear slipped down my cheek before I could stop it, but I refused to let him see any more of my pain. “So it’s always been about status with you,” I said, forcing my voice to stay steady. “If I were someone important, you wouldn’t feel the need to… replace me. I thought this bond was meant to be sacred created by the moon goddess herself, how come you could so easily throw it away fir politics?”

Kendrick’s lips curled into a cold, cruel smile. “I'm glad you finally understand, I cannot let some moon goddess's chess game ruin my packs chance of aligning with the strongest packs by marrying a slave” He leaned in close, his breath chilling against my skin. “That’s why, Alison, I hope you don’t mind, but I have to do this.”

I took a step back, but Kendrick was faster. His grip shot out like a vice, his hand wrapping around my wrist, holding me in place. My heart pounded wildly as I felt Maya bristle, sensing what was about to happen.

“I, Alpha Kendrick of the Silver Moon Pack,” he declared, his voice loud and resolute, “reject you, Alison.”

It felt like I’d been struck by lightning. Pain exploded in my chest, radiating through every fiber of my being. Maya whimpered, her agony echoing through my mind. The rejection tore at us both, unraveling our bond thread by thread, each one a fresh wound that burned hotter than the last. My hand flew to my chest, clutching it as if that could stop the ache tearing me apart.

Kendrick watched, his grip still tight around my wrist, his eyes gleaming with twisted satisfaction. “I heard it’s excruciating,” he taunted, leaning closer still holding me in place. “The pain of being rejected by an Alpha. But I could make it easier for you, you know… if you beg. I might even keep you around as my little hidden concubine, beneath—”

“Enough!” I gasped, summoning every last shred of strength I had. My voice was hoarse, broken from the pain, but the fire in my chest hadn’t dimmed. If anything, it blazed brighter.

I forced myself to look into his eyes, to let him see that I would not be his plaything, his pawn, or his shadow. I would not beg. I would never give him that satisfaction.

With one final breath, I gritted my teeth and said, “I, Alison… accept your rejection, Alpha Kendrick.”

The moment the words left my lips, a sharp, blinding spark pulsed through our joined hands, breaking our connection. I felt it crackle, the severing bond snapping like a whip between us. It left a hollow ache, an emptiness, but it was over. The chains he’d bound me with were finally broken.

Kendrick’s eyes widened in disbelief, and he stumbled back, his face twisting in anger as he realized what had happened. “No… No!” he roared, fury contorting his features.

"What did you just do" he yelled

  • Rejected: Mated to Another Alpha   Chapter 174: Where Is My Son?

Xander’s POVFor a moment, I genuinely thought I had heard Alpha Lucian wrong. The rage burning through my chest made it difficult to process anything clearly.I stared at him. Then at the Alphas standing behind him.Not one of them looked ashamed. Not one.“My Luna’s power is becoming a threat to the alliance.”The words echoed again inside my head, colder this time.Dangerously colder.I took a slow step toward Lucian.“What,” I said quietly, “did you just say to me?”Lucian straightened slightly, but I noticed the hesitation in his eyes now. Still, he didn’t back down.“We all witnessed what happened, Xander,” he said carefully. “Your Luna lost control in front of every western Alpha present here today.”My jaw clenched violently.“My son was abducted,” I bit out.Nobody spoke.I laughed bitterly, shaking my head once.“My five-year-old son was stolen right before our eyes,” I continued harshly. “And Simone was murdered protecting him.”Still silence.I looked at every single one o

  • Rejected: Mated to Another Alpha   Chapter 173: The Breaking Point

Xander’s POVEverything happened too fast. One second, my son had been standing beside Alison. The next…Gone. The image replayed in my head like a nightmare I couldn’t wake from. Lionel screaming. Simone being struck. That tornado swallowing everything whole before disappearing into thin air.Chaos erupted across the ceremonial grounds.Warriors rushed in every direction. Guests shouted over one another. Some of the visiting Alphas barked orders to their guards while others pulled their families behind them protectively. But none of that was what froze my blood. It was Alison. The scream that tore from her throat didn’t sound human. It sounded… primal.Raw.Ancient.Every head snapped toward her.Her entire body shook violently as power burst from her in waves strong enough to crack the ground beneath her feet. The air itself seemed to tremble around her.“Alison!” I shouted, taking a step toward her.She didn’t hear me.Or maybe she did.Maybe she simply wasn’t there anymore. Her wo

  • Rejected: Mated to Another Alpha   Chapter 172: The Ritual

Alison’s POVThe room fell into a tense silence after Lionel’s words.I could feel Xander’s frustration rising beside me, thick and sharp enough to suffocate the air itself. His jaw clenched as he stared at our trembling son still curled against my chest. Then he exhaled harshly and dragged a hand through his hair.“What is going on here?” he snapped suddenly.I looked up at him in surprise. His eyes moved between me and Lionel before settling somewhere near the door, irritation flashing across his face.“First Simone,” he muttered. “Now Lionel too?”“Xander—” I started carefully.“No,” he cut in sharply. “Tell me I’m wrong, Alison. Tell me all this fear isn’t rubbing off on him.”My chest tightened.“He’s a child,” I said quietly.“And children absorb what they hear,” he fired back. “For weeks now all he’s seen is you and Simone whispering about shadows and danger.”“That’s not fair.”“Isn’t it?” he challenged. “Look at him.”Lionel shrank further into me as Xander’s voice rose.Inst

  • Rejected: Mated to Another Alpha   Chapter 171: The Birthday Dawn

Alison’s POVMorning came too quickly. The sun spilled through the tall windows in soft gold, warming the walls of Night Fang’s estate, but it did nothing to ease the unease sitting heavy in my chest. I had barely slept. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw them again…Those glowing eyes.Watching. Waiting.I pushed the thought aside as I stood before the mirror, smoothing down my dress. Today wasn’t about me. Today was about Lionel.Five years. My son was five years old.A small smile tugged at my lips despite everything. After everything I had endured… every fear, every battle, every whispered insult about being barren… I had him.And I would not let anything ruin his day.“Luna,” a maid called softly from behind me. “The first guests have arrived.”I nodded, straightening my shoulders. “I’m coming.”By the time I stepped into the courtyard, it had already transformed into a vibrant sea of color and life. Banners bearing Night Fang’s crest swayed in the breeze, tables were lined with

  • Rejected: Mated to Another Alpha   Chapter 170: The Eyes

Alison’s POVThe entire house was alive.Servants moved from one end of the hall to the other, carrying trays, adjusting decorations, polishing surfaces that already gleamed. The scent of fresh flowers filled the air, mixed with sugar and spice from the kitchens. Everything had to be perfect.Tomorrow was Lionel’s fifth birthday.I stood at the center of it all, watching, correcting, guiding.“No, the blue ribbons go on the west wing, not here,” I said, pointing toward the archway. “And make sure the candles are arranged evenly. I don’t want anything looking rushed.”“Yes, Luna,” the maid bowed quickly, hurrying off.I exhaled slowly, pressing my fingers against my temple. It had been a long day, but I didn’t feel tired. Not really. Just… restless.Something wasn’t right.I turned slightly, scanning the grand hall. Everything looked as it should—warm lights, polished floors, quiet efficiency. And yet…That feeling. It crept up my spine like a whisper.Slow.Cold.Watching.My breath h

  • Rejected: Mated to Another Alpha   Chapter 169: The shadows watching

Alison’s Point Of View "The Morning of Lionel’s 4th Birthday" Warmth. That was the first thing I felt. Not from the morning sun pouring through the tall windows, but from the man whose arms were wrapped around me like I was the most precious thing in the world. His chest rose and fell gently behind me, his breath brushing softly against my hair, and his warm body heat soothed me. Xander. My husband.. My Alpha. My love. Even after all these years, waking up in his arms still made my heart flutter like the first time he kissed me. His embrace was steady, secure. The kind of warmth that made you forget there had ever been cold. I smiled to myself, letting my fingers trace the pattern of his knuckles resting just above my stomach. “I know you’re awake already,” he murmured groggily, his voice still husky with sleep. I giggled, rolling to face him, as my eyes laid on his face my stomach did a back flip. “And how would you know that, my Alpha?” He smirked, eyes still closed.

Alison’s POV A deadly silence filled the ruins. For a split second, I had seen something in Priya’s eyes… fear. But just as quickly as it appeared, it was gone, replaced by something much darker. She sneered. “You think I’m afraid of you four?” A low, guttural laugh spilled from her lips, growi
