~Gaston~There are lots of things I need answers to. And I've tried getting these answers from elsewhere. But there are still lots of empty spaces that need to be filled. The answers aren't as explanatory as I wanted, I need more. I needed to hear them as they were. If there was a prophecy about this new Moon-made, Xyana, I needed to hear it word for word, not as hearsay, but as the absolute truth. The only person with the answer to my question is Rhenat the Witch. And even though I've tried to avoid going to her for help by exploring every other option available to me, I still have to say that she holds the complete information I'm after. So I had no other option than to get Callum to set up a private meeting with Rhenat without anyone's knowledge.I left the pack after midnight with Killian, my most trusted man, with me, we shifted to our wolves and ran all the way to Callum's pack.He was already waiting for us with a clean change~Xyana~ I don't get to experience any other disruption for the rest of the night. And when I fell asleep, it was peaceful. So peaceful that Gretchen had to be the one to wake me up the next morning. "The King is waiting for you at the breakfast table." She announces when I finally push my eyes open. She points to the closet in the room, "I had a few clothes brought in for you this morning. Please choose an outfit from the new ones in the wardrobe. The King adores breakfast, and he doesn't condone dressing shabbily to have one." I nod. When I scanned my room with my eyes, the plates from last night had been cleared out. The floor is sparkly clean too. It took everything in me to get back into that bathroom. Instead of bathing as I would love to, I splashed water across my body and rushed back into the bedroom to dress up for breakfast with the 'King of hell'. The dresses Gretchen got for me were sophisticated. The type of outfits I had back home at Gurreo-Valley. 'Oh Godde
~Xyana~ The sensations I feel make me sweaty as the sudden slight tickle between my thighs causes my body to jolt. I look around reflexively in the bathtub as I assume there must be some sort of worm or an insect in the bathtub. But nothing is under water. Although I spotted nothing in the tub, I still felt unsettled, and there was the fright of the unknown. So I hop out of the bathtub chaotically, stumbling and slipping on the floor in the process. My anxious eyes quickly scanned through the entire bathroom. And I watch something horrific happen. I watch as the water in the bathtub rises up in the air like a rough water wave and gradually morphs into a round ball-like appearance. My naked, shaky body remains frozen on the floor as my terrified gaze keeps staring at the water, which twirls around continuously to form a ball, and once it stops, it rushes at me. It is at that moment that I finally shoot up from the floor. The water lunges towards me but I manage to tilt toward
~Xyana~"Yes, Miss?" The housekeeper responds in a calm tone as if she is unable to see the shadow behind me. "Is there something I can help you with?" My eyebrows furrow at her question, which feels totally out of place at that moment. Can't she see the huge creature behind me? I reached for her arm with my trembling hand and jerked her a bit. "Don't you see that shadow?""What shadow are you speaking of, Ma'am?"My Goddess, was I imagining things? Just like that, I looked back to confirm and I saw nothing. The housekeeper smiles at me. "You must be very exhausted, Miss. I went to your room, but you were not there. I prepared a bath for you. The bathroom door is the door at the left part of your room. The housekeeper informs me with a smile plastered across her face as she acts like there is no creature within the mansion. But I know what I saw and it is not just all in my head. "I will bring in some food for you too. Have as much rest as y
~Xyana~The smell of Jasmine grows thicker and heavier in the air even when it is clear that there is absolutely no explanation for its origin in the room.Even in my subconscious state, my forehead creases with confusion, as I'm not understanding what is happening around me. I feel a tickle on my forehead, and I quickly brush it off, running my fingers through my hair in case the tickle was from a stray hair. Next, what feels like a hand caresses around my ankle, moving down quickly to the base of my foot which gives me a tickle. For some reason, the feeling made me more sleepy and rooted to the bed. It feels like I'm in a dream and somebody is sucking my energy. My mind seem to be awake, while the rest of my body is asleep. 'Absolutely abnormal.' I haven't experienced anything like this before to be able to comprehend how to react or wake up properly. Panic rises in my heart. I try to open my eyes and move my arms to at least check fo
~Xyana~I don't have a wristwatch on me, neither did I see a clock in Alura's room. So I don't know what time it is or how long we spent on the road. But by the time we got to a mighty and large mansion isolated at the top of a hill, it was already getting dark.I didn't get to see the roads we plied through because the cart was shut by both sides, and I had a mean-looking man seated opposite me; maybe he was told to stay there to make sure I didn't escape. The man points to a closed wooden door that suggests the entrance of the Mansion. "You go that way." He says as he points to the door.He retreated to the Cart and left with the other men that came with us. At this point, I'm confused. How do they expect me to go into a house I don't know the owner. There is no butler to let me in, even.Is it possible that the men think I can't utilize this opportunity to make a run for it? Even though I don't know who their King is, Alura's tears were enough to
~Xyana~A couple of days ago, I woke up in a plain field; naked, alone with an excruciating pain on my neck.I had no idea where I was or how I got there. The surroundings didn't look familiar. So I was certain I hadn't been here before. There was no sign of houses or people. I was all alone. It took me a while to finally locate a tiny hut several miles away from the plain field where I woke up. The hut was empty, but pieces of clothing hung on the wall. So I grabbed one and wrapped it around my naked body.I was hungry. After walking that much distance from the field, I felt like I was going to slump If I didn't eat something. But aside from the clothes, there was neither food nor anything else that could afford anyone comfort in the hut. Scared that I might die of hunger if I stayed back at the hut, I continued back to the lonely dusty path that led me to the hut. I must have slumped at a point because the next time I opened my eyes, I was
This chapter and the coming chapters will move the story forward to Xyana's experience, and they will shed more light on her relationship with Clifton. Please read through the next chapters with open mind. I promise it will all come together at the end. Once again, thank you for supporting this book. Your support makes me happy and keeps me going. Don't forget to drop a review when you can. x❣️ ~~ ~Clifton~ "I don't understand any of this. Alpha," I call my brother. "We need to talk in private," I added, casting a side glance at the intruder in the room; Zegulf Landerman. Gaston nods and clears his throat. Then he directs his attention to Zegulf. "Alpha Zegulf," he calls. "I'll need you to excuse my brothers and me." Zegulf tsks, "You're not trying to get rid of me, are you?" Gaston shakes his head. "I will never do that." Suddenly, Gaston pauses and arches his brow. "Did you get the witch?" He asks. Zegulf clenches his teeth tight and shakes his head. "Do
~Clifton~ "Who are you?" Declan asks the man who just walked in. "Azzarus Fennom. Your late mother's only brother." He replies. Even though we are shocked to the bones because we had no idea Mama had any living family members, we can't help but agree that the man was possibly related to our late mother. He is a replica of our mother, so much so that he speaks like her even. It's like seeing our mother as a man. "What are you doing here? You never showed up for your sister. Not while she was alive, not when she died, never. So why are you here now?" I ask the man. "Clifton," Gaston calls me, but I shake my head. "He has a mouth, let him answer for himself, Alpha." "But we don't have time!" Gaston snaps. "Xyana doesn't have the time." Gaston's statement was enough to get me to finally ignore the man who calls himself my uncle. "So, what can you do, u.n.c.l.e?" Declan sneers empathetically. The man doesn't look hurt or fazed at our words. Instead, he walks straight to Xyana an
~Clifton~ "So, you're trying to tell us." I curve my index around, demonstrating my brothers and I. "You are trying to tell us that our mate got marked by a fuckin hybrid of an Alpha. Now she's going to die. And you!" I point at Gaston. "You! My brother, the man I respect and call my Alpha. You knew Zegulf Landerman marked my mate and you covered up for him? Fuckin Goddess! I've lost all the respect I have for you today, Gaston Howling!" Every single word that came out of my mouth at this point was from the depths of my soul. I'm hurting like I've never done before. I'm heartbroken. I can't believe I'm losing Xyana. Not after everything we've been through. I haven't been the best mate to her. But I love her, and she knows. I just– I was so scared that if I came too close to her, my feral wolf would hurt her. I was scared he would mark her. I was scared that I would hurt and disappoint my brothers. Also, I was scared of losing her if she found out what I had in me and decided s
