Nyx

The trip to the Quicksilver pack was fun. My brother made sure I conserved my strength by keeping me quiet throughout the car ride. Actually, he tied a cloth around my mouth and seized my phone, but it's all the same. I sat next to Vesper throughout the drive while Calix and Cullen sat in the front.

Vesper used every opportunity to turn me into her personal maid, sending me on errands whenever we stopped for a break.

Calix, on the other hand, didn't spare me a glance. It was like I didn't exist in his sight. How heartwarming to be ignored by my crush. At least they were kind enough not to put me in the car trunk.

The car slowed down as we got to a checkpoint. The third one since we arrived at Quicksilver pack. What's with all the security? Still, I couldn't help but admire how beautiful and coordinated the Quicksilver pack is. I looked through the tinted window, luxurious cars moved slowly in the traffic in front.

I stared at the security guards who looked like their uniforms were about to rip off their bodies.

"Stop gawking like a loser," Vesper's voice sounded beside me. "And take that thing off your mouth. Wouldn't want them thinking we kidnapped you," she said, her eyes glued to her phone.

That is exactly what this is, but I happily obeyed. Finally, I can move my jaw freely.

It got to our turn, and Cullen rolled down the car window to hand one of the security guards our pass.

The guard's face furrowed in a frown at first, then turned into surprise.

"We've been expecting you," he said as his eyes scanned the car. "Where's the Alpha female?"

Cullen pointed at Vesper, seated beside me. The security guard nodded his head and handed the pass back to him.

He turned to leave when his nostrils flared, and he looked at me. "Who's the mutt?" he said, looking disgusted. My heart skipped.

"My maid," Cullen said before driving into the estate.

Okay, this is not an estate, it looks like a whole damn city. I couldn't even see the end of the road, just thick trees on both sides of the lane.

We drove behind other cars to an enormous building where we got checked again outside its gates.

After securing our passes, we were given two key cards.

According to the security guard, the male and female quarters were separated to protect she-wolves from being marked accidentally.

When we finally got to our destination, I moved to take out Vesper's luggage. The girl packed her entire closet for a two-day event.

"Mind link me if you need anything." Calix, who hasn't said much since this trip, stood in front of Vesper, brushing her perfect hair off her face the way a normal brother should.

While I was taking out Vesper's luggage from the car, I felt an overwhelming presence behind me. I didn't need to turn around to know who it was.

"Don't you dare do anything stupid, Nyx. And don't think for a second I bought your cooked-up story about running into a rogue the other night." I turned to look at Cullen, standing way too close to me.

"Why shouldn't I? I'm only dying to be ripped apart by different packs of wolves." My sarcasm didn't faze him as he brought his lips closer to my ear.

"I'd watch my tongue if I were you. After all, we're surrounded by wolves, and you're anything but capable of defending yourself." He said and turned to leave without looking back, Calix following behind him.

I focused on Calix's retreating figure as they both walked into a building to my left with the sign Male written in bold letters just above the double oak doors.

"Stop drooling over my brother, you slut." I didn't realize Vesper was already standing beside me.

"I wasn't..."

"Save your stuttering and get my luggage." She said, walking towards the other building to my right. I picked up one of them and swung it over my shoulder while dragging the other on its wheels.

I tried to avoid the lingering gazes thrown at me as we made our way to our room.

"What's a mutt doing here?"

"You think she's an omega?"

"I can't even smell any wolf on her."

My ears almost bled before we got to the room. Vesper opened the door with the key card and walked in while I followed behind her. Closing the door behind me, I swept my gaze across the room. It was spacious with two separate beds.

"Make yourself useful and get me coffee." Came Vesper's shriek of a voice.

I sighed and moved to the coffee maker, only for my brow to furrow into a frown.

"There isn't any coffee," I said, turning to Vesper, who took her eyes off her phone to look at me like I was crazy.

"Then go find one, Nyx." She shrieked.

I turned and walked to the door.

"And don't come back without it," Vesper called out behind me. Leaving the room, I made my way through the hallway.

Who even drinks coffee by six in the evening? I managed to find my way to an adjoining hallway and towards a kitchen after about ten minutes of searching.

Everyone turned their gaze towards me before I could speak, their nostrils flared in complete curiosity.

"Can I have some coffee powder?" I asked the omega girl staring at me.

She walked towards me, "You're wolfless." She said as if she were trying to inform me of my situation.

Stating the obvious now, aren't we, Sherlock? I wanted to drop a fitting remark, but I remembered my position. "Can I just have the coffee powder, please?"

A devious smile crossed her face. "Coffee beans are always harvested fresh in the Quicksilver pack."

I could hear small laughter from the other omegas, but right now, I can't leave without getting that coffee. "How do I get it?"

More laughter followed, and I couldn't help wondering what was so funny.

"There's a coffee farm at the back of the building." She said. "If I were you, I'd find my way there before nightfall."

I nodded and left the kitchen, not before hearing a voice behind. "Such a dumb bitch."

I knew I was heading into trouble, but it's either that or Vesper's wrath. I'll take trouble. When I got to the back of the building, my jaw dropped. This was no farm. It's a whole damn forest. Still, I couldn't go back even though a part of me was scared to my wits.

I moved deeper into the woods but couldn't find any sign of a coffee plant.

"Stupid omega." I muttered under my breath as I turned to leave. It was getting late, and I still couldn't find my way back. Anger and frustration made me hasten my steps.

"Fuck you ves...aahh." Sharp pain tore through my leg, and I lost my footing, collapsing on the floor.

"Fuck!" I gripped my foot to examine the cause of my excruciating pain. A nail-like object, one so long it's pierced through my sneakers and into my feet. I tried pulling it out, but the pain wasn't worth it.

However, when I heard the distant howl of a wolf, I decided I had to. It's either I get ripped apart by a wolf, or I pull out the rusted nail from my feet.

I picked up a branch from the floor and bit hard on it. The howl grew louder and nearer as I struggled to pull out the nail. Another howl, this time around it sounded like a roar. So close I could literally hear the pounding of my heart.

I tried to keep my mind focused on pulling out the nail, but my hands wouldn't stop trembling, so I decided to leave it and limp my way back.

It could have been a hallucination or the sheer fear surging through me, but I could have sworn I saw a shadow running towards me with so much speed my eyes couldn't keep up. I didn't know what I saw, but I'm not staying to find out. I started limping my way out with whatever speed I could muster.

Suddenly, a giant beast appeared before me, one so sheer in size that it knocked the air out of my lungs. It wrapped its claws around my neck and lifted me until I was dangling in its grip.

  • Rejected and Marked by the Lycan Prince    Connected to him

NyxI stared at the man in front of me, trying to make sense of his words. I came up with nothing. I didn't understand what the fuck he just said, and he didn't look like he was going to offer any explanation."What do you mean until I turn?" I asked after a brief moment of silence, staring intently at him.Actually, there wasn't silence. There hadn't been since this morning. I've been hearing different sounds and I don't know how that's possible when he's the only person with me. Hell, I don't know anything at this point."Aren't you going to say anything "Alpha"?"He didn't answer, just turned to leave."Don't you think after everything you've done, the least you owe me is an explanation?" I snapped, my eyes fixed on the back of his head.He halted and faced me. His expression turned cold, and his eyes were filled with resentment. He took a step towards me."You," his voice felt like ice on my skin. I didn't know when I stepped back. "You mutt."Suddenly, he closed the distance and

  • Rejected and Marked by the Lycan Prince    Until she turns

NyxThe sound of birds chirping woke me up, my eyes fluttered open, but my mind was blank for some time. Slowly my eyes scanned the room. Too big for one person, not cramped up with unnecessary furniture, the bed beneath me didn't creak, this wasn't my room.I sat up too fast and the room tilted, the soft bed sinking in a bit. Memories of last night rushed back in pieces. The last thing I remembered was Cullen trying to take me home after the hunt before...My hand flew to my neck and I pushed myself off the bed and crossed the room. My legs were shaking as I walked towards a full-length mirror. I pulled my hair aside and gasped at the sight before me.There was a bandage on the spot that was beginning to throb. I gently took it out to see what was behind. A mark was just below my pulse point, like an animal bite. Four fang marks that seemed to be connecting to a single mark.I touched it, and the mark glowed faintly under my fingers. What on earth? Warmth spread down my neck and into

  • Rejected and Marked by the Lycan Prince    Marked

NyxMy heart skipped two beats, before pounding against my chest again. It was so loud, I'm sure every wolf here already had sore ears. The current attention was a blur, especially when his voice dropped so low, so taunting. For a heartbeat, there was silence, then the uproar began again. Overlapping voices laced with shock and disgust filled the room. Kyrell blinked as if he had just broken off from a trance. That's exactly what it was, a trance."What's going on here?" I didn't realize Vesper had already crossed the room and was now standing beside me. My eyes swept the room. The disgust of the wolves, the anger in the Alpha's eyes, and the confusion in the Luna's. I shifted my gaze back to Vesper, who looked like she was seconds away from tearing me apart."I don't understand. Why are you standing next to this human?" Vesper's voice cracked, like she was refusing to accept reality. What the fuck is the reality? That I'm his mate? That's not possible. I'm not even a werewolf. I sho

  • Rejected and Marked by the Lycan Prince    The crimson hunt

NyxWith the number of times my jaw dropped today, I'm surprised it's still attached to my face. Even though I wasn't able to witness it, I'm so happy that Mira found her mate. But then, Cullen?"Cullen? As in my brother Cullen?" I knew my question was stupid but I couldn't help it. Her eyes caught the reflection of the chandelier in the middle of the ballroom."Of course, Nyx. Which other Cullen do you know?" Like I said, I'm happy she found her mate, I just don't get why she is."Cullen is a douchebag." The words slipped out before I could think."He's the future Beta." She had a dreamy look in her eyes. What the fuck?"He's a douchebag." I repeated. I don't know what the mate bond did to her, but she's not paying attention to the douchebag part."And he's so handsome," her eyes found mine, "and he accepted me. We accepted each other." More like you handed your brains to him in exchange for the bond."Is this what you want?" Of course it's all she ever wanted. Is he who she wants th

KyrellThird personKyrell stopped dead in his tracks. He wasn't surprised that Samiel figured it out. The man has always been very observant. What surprised him was the excitement in his voice."Tell no one about it." Kyrell said and resumed his stride. He doesn't care about her. The fragile being that makes him question his sanity.Samiel could see the tension on his prince shoulder, even when he was trying too hard to mask it. He picked up his pace."But why shouldn't I? You found your fated mate. That I extremely hard to come by for lycans, and you found yours." Samiel followed behind him until they got to Kyrell's study."I don't believe you should keep this a secret. Not when the hunt is tomorrow."Kyrell sat on his seat behind the mahogany desk, and started working on the files piled up in front of him."You shouldn't tell anyone because I say so." His voice didn't match the conflict going on in his mind.Samiel could only do as his future alpha orders. He knows how strong the

  • Rejected and Marked by the Lycan Prince    Cullen

NyxI groaned as Mira came to stand beside me at the closet. "Don't tell me you lied about your pain just to avoid coming to the welcome dinner." Mira wouldn't stop bickering since she got back from the dinner.I stared at her exhausted face. She was barely holding it together but still found the strength to throw questions at me. Questions I racked my brain finding answers to, I came up with nothing."I did not." I only stood up to go to the bathroom this morning and realized that the pain was gone.I was too surprised to say anything and Mira had been too focused on her makeup to notice. And when I came out of the bathroom, she was already gone."Then explain to me why you're no longer limping. And why do you smell different?" She stared intently at me."I stood up to go to the bathroom this morning and noticed the pain was no longer there. And I made use of the free shampoo." I said, moving to sit on my bed before she dropped another question.I left out the part where faint green

NyxIt's been two days since I got slammed against the wall, but the students won't stop laughing and whispering as I walk to my locker. It doesn't matter if I'm the Beta's daughter or human.
